Thursday, disapointments and Golf Widows ;-)

Good Morning Campers!!

How are we this lovely sunny Thursday morning?? I know I am in a good mood despite an email from my sister that once again hurt my feelings but that's okay..I refuse to let it ruin my weekend..I have the next four days off..the sun is shining..we are supposed to reach temps in the high 70's for the next few days...I have some good books to read..plans to meet with friends..an invite to bike week in Daytona and I am once more in control of the remote..  ;-) what more could a girl ask for? Maybe that her sister and best friend not get her hopes up that they are coming over for a visit therefore making her put her own family vacation plans on hold only to be told that they are now going to either the Dominion Republic or Mexico...but they will let her know...<sigh> I was really looking forward to seeing them and having them here..no one from my family has been to visit in ages.. I always have to spend my vacation going over there if I want to see them...granted my dad helped out with the airfare last time but it still cost us a bundle and used up all our vacation time..now I won't see any of my family for another year... :-(  I tried looking for a cheap ticket just for me so I could pop over and see my sister and Di for their 40th birthdays but the fares are outrageous for just a weekend....oh well..not the first time I have been let down and won't be the last. I feel so disconnected from my family.. my brother never calls me.. last time I spoke to him was for 5 minutes on Christmas and my sister and I communicate via email.. my poor old dad doesn't have a whole lot to say when I call him  (if he even hears the phone to pick it up) it just seems that since my Mum died they don't think about me so much....her and I used to have a good old chin wag on the phone at least once a week and I miss that..she kept me up to date with what was going on in the family....

Enough of that... I am determined to enjoy my days off.. yesterday the receptionist went home sick so I was manning the front desk by myself which was an absolute madhouse...the new MA in the back is slow as molasses and doesn't even pick up the phone..we have 4 lines and just me answering them...grrrrr....me and the other MA not the new one went walking at lunch and just bitched and moaned the whole time..LOL..it was funny..we couldn't spit the words out fast enough....

Okay I am off to the gym... :-) then Ryan has an appointment at the orthodontist..then he needs a ride to and from work...other than that I shall be outside enjoying the sunshine...which reminds me we shall have an extra hour of it come Sunday....yahoo!!

hugs

L

Aw sorry that your sister has let you down.  If I was your sister I'd be out like a shot on every holiday I got to come and stay with you. She probably doesn't realise how disappointed you are not to see them.  Never mind, the sun is probably shining there (as it is here today, its a lovely day).  Have a great time at the gym.  Hugs.  Terry x

Congrats on the 4 pounds!  sure wish I could lose it like that!  I know how you feel about family visiting.  It seems I am always the one who has to fork out the cash to make the visits, telephone calls etc.  Just once it would be lovely to have one of them come over here...oh and for me not to have to pay for it as well.  I have paid to bring several of my kids over twice now.  Oh well, must think positive eh!  This time next year...we'll all be millionaires...haha.

That was unkind for them to build your hopes up like that about visitng. One of life's sad lessons, even the closest people let you down sometimes.

It's quite mild and springlike here today but we can't match your temperatures!

Shame about the family. Once the cornerstone (mum) goes they do seem to fragment a little. Enjoy your days off. B. x

Lyn I am sorry about the disappointment with your sis and best friend.  My family is about the same and they don't even have the excuse of being on another continent!  If I don't go see them, then I don't see them at all.

Congrats on the great start to your weight-loss plan!  Enjoy the beautiful weather and have fun!
loving you

Hi Lyn,
yes, it's me back from the shadows.
I'm doing very well thank you.
Looks like you've been through some rough times by the look of it.
Families, huh !!
We almost lost my Brother at Christmas because of a burst appendix that became infected but he's fighting fit now, thank goodness.
Must get together and have a good e mail chat, got lots to catch up with you on.
I hope you get lots and lots of warm sunshine and that you can send some our way.
Lots of love and speak soon.

Families huh!!???  What is it about them that makes us keep loving them despite all the grief they cause us?  Hell, if our friends treated us the same way they would have been dumped ages ago!!  Stange isn't it! Anyway, don't lt it get you down, now you have the security system - you are free to travel where ever you want!!!  Go for it! Send the family a post card from some exotic location - you know the saying - don't get mad - get even!!!...lol

Have a fabulous 4 days off!  We have a long weekend this weekend so I am looking forward to 3 days myself!

We can pick our friends but not our families.  You are a wonderful person and you musn't beat yourself up over your sister's attitude or your brother's either.  They aren't worthy of your concern.

Love,
Susie
