Spring, shopping and baby oil....

Good Morning Campers.

Up bright and early here this morning. Have had an awesome couple of days. the weather has been perfect..sunny blue skies, temps in the 70's and a nice breeze. This is the weather we Floridians live for..it gives you this  renewed energy and appreciation for life. Makes you start thinking of lazy summer days spent by the pool, trips to the beach, Barbecues, riding lawn mowers, sprinklers, taking the boat to the pub on the river, reading your book while laying on your lounger at the edge of the lake with the water lapping over your toes, planting flowers and bringing the back yard back to life.... I could go on and on....I was sorely tempted to get going in the planting department but hubby was right to warn me we could still have a cold snap so I was good and only got a couple of goodies at the Garden centre..which I might add was buzzing with people with the same joy as us...;-)  We have been looking for some bamboo shades to put up in the Florida room and have not been able to find any that fit this one particular window that isn't as wide as the others...it is 42" and the standard sizes are 48".. we will have to custom order it I guess..but that is not as easy as it sounds..I need them all to match...but I shan't give up yet... hubby got some fertilizer and a new spreader..I got a new bench for out front that matches the Shepherd's hook plant hanger out there...we got a new porch light..a couple of hanging baskets...can't remember what else now but it was a lovely day out..it was nice just to be outside.. I loved seeing everyone out and about and in such good moods all because of the glorious weather..people were washing their cars, walking their dogs..and the teenage girls were all slathered in baby oil .. that's a sure sign of spring when the girls are finding any excuse to be seen in their bikini's.... walking to the mail box to get the mail...ever -so-slowly...;-)

Friday night was our weekly over indulgence of Mexican food and Margarita's...I cleaned the entire house Friday too and managed to get an hour by the pool reading...I did go to the staff meeting and it was predictable....however I think that the Dr's have been made aware of some of her shenanigans and they are paying very close attention..that's all I got to say about that..;-)

I hope you all are having a fabulous weekend... I know I am...

I shall leave you with my five....

L

(I know I run the risk of getting hit with cyber snowballs going on and on about this nice weather but I can't help it....you can get back at me in the summer when I am miserable and have swollen ankles from the heat and humidity.... ;-)

Wednesday

Good Morning Campers.

I usually read my alerts first thing in the morning but I am finding that if I do that I run out of time to write myself so doing things a little different here in the tent this morning...writing first....  ;-)

Things are going well here in the Hatfield household. I  have enjoyed pampering the FIL. He came round for spaghetti and meat balls last night and a couple of glasses of red wine ;-) I have known him since I was a child and he owned the Laundromat in the village (UK) and drove around in these big old American cars..remember the old Lincoln Continental?? LOL he had one of them..he looked mighty flash driving that down  the high street I can tell you! We all thought the Hatfields were rich..they were the only yanks in the village and had many luxuries we brits did not. Including a full size American washer and dryer in there own home. I thought I was the bees knees when I started dating hubby let me tell you...he was extremely popular in school and pretty much the entire fourth form had a crush on him..boys and girls... the boys thought he was Cool Hand Luke and the girls thought he was a dream boat...we spent last night reminiscing about the good old days as you only can with someone who has known you that long...I enjoyed it very much. Even got a bit teary a few times talking about hubbies Mum...I think FIL only feels the freedom to talk like that when his present wife is not around. Speaking of family please hold hubbies brother in your prayers today he is going for a biopsy on his throat..they believe he has throat cancer. this is hubbies oldest brother John Paul. Thanks.

The drama at work continues. The extern called in sick again Monday and Tuesday..her cat was sick. Whatever. We are also struggling with filling the full time MA position as we are obviously not offering it to her now. The new office manager has decided that we can do it with 2 part time positions instead. Not so easy. Double the training for one thing and too many hands in the pot another. Another problem has arisen. Seems the office manager likes to gossip. Also likes a drink or two if you know what I mean ..which leads to..."drunk dialing".. I HATE that.. and who does she call? Not ghostbusters..me! I am trying to think of a diplomatic way of stopping this. her number comes up private so that's not an option unless I just allow the machine to pick up ..hubby doesn't like that option as he needs to be available to his troops..the subject matter of her calls makes me uncomfortable too... why she picked me I don't know ..well I do really..I am closer to her age than the others...lucky me..NOT.... other office news another office baby..Dr's wife this time...a boy...William Boyd...8lb 2oz by C- section Friday night. Welcome to the world little one.

Well I am off to read some alerts..drink another cup of coffee and head to a 12 hour shift at the clinic....enjoy your Hump Day....

L

My five..

1. New babies...

2.. Reconnecting with FIL...

3... Rearranging the furniture..anyone else like doing this?

4.... Signs and sounds of Spring...it was in the 70's yesterday....

5..... Clear nights and stargazing.....was that you last night Mum??

Sunday Catch up

Good Morning Campers.

Can you hear that? that is the sound of silence..ahhhhhhhhhhh!! Yes my new windows are in and they have made such an incredible difference in the amount of noise that filters through..it is amazing. They are beautiful and keep the draughts out too..I will get some pics soon I promise...I am well pleased  with the results..in and out in 7 hours they were. Did not even stop for a lunch break. They said they ate a huge breakfast before coming and that that is how they like to do business.. just keep working till their finished. Nice work ethic I told them. ;-)

Busy old weekend so far. My FIL's wife is back in the UK to attend her Mothers funeral (she was 100) so FIL is here alone. He has major health issues so we have been keeping an eye on him . He refused to come stay around here but he only lives about 2 miles from here so we have been able to pop in and out. True beauty went out to dinner with her gramp last night and stayed the night over there to keep him company.. Dh has taken him out to lunch a couple of times and Ryan has been over talking Airplanes with him...;-) I am doing his laundry today and cooking him a Sunday dinner.. he is coming over here to eat..get him out the house a bit...Last night hubby and I went to see the Celtic Women.. they were fantastic..they have the voices of angels. And yes they made me cry..when they sang "Danny Boy' "Somewhere over the Rainbow" and "Raise me up" that was it I was a goner... they got standing ovations and did 2 encores.. I thoroughly enjoyed it and so did hubby...or at least he said he did.... ;-)Went to a baby shower yesterday too for one of our good friends DIL's..long time since I went to a baby shower..I won a prize for picking the most safety pins out of a bowl of rice while blindfolded..yes it is as weird as it sounds but I got a nice candle out of the deal...

I caught part two of Oprahs show on the Secret...I shan't bore you with the philosophy here but anyone interested just google "the Secret' and you will find all you could ever want to know about the laws of attraction..I have to admit I found it very interesting and I shall be implementingparts of the theory into my life...stand by for the new Lyn.. ;-)

Well J landers I have taken enough of your time on this Sunday Morning.. I wish you all a great rest of the weekend.. I am leaving you with a graphic just because it cracked me up  and my five....enjoy.. ;-)

LAUGH0002.gif

Thursday

Good Morning Campers.

Just a quick entry this morning. As you know we are having the new windows installed this morning and as my computer desk is under a window the computer will be out of bounds for a few hours.

For valentines day I got flowers delivered to my job. They were left at the reception area in the lobby of the building as our office was closed for lunch. They were also from "a secret admirer" this caused a lot of speculation from the girls.. of course they were from hubby.... ;-) The docs teased me all afternoon that they were from this one guy who always flirts with me..he is this big tough Italian guy with a thick New York accent, grey hair and an ear ring.. too funny... as the oldest in an office full of hot young chicks I was rather flattered to be the only one got flowers delivered... our office manager gave us all a gift bag of goodies and true beauty got us all a card and some chocolate..that was a sweet touch from her...

I am glad everyone had a nice valentines day...and whoever mentioned easter you are right.. I heard on the radio coming home about the special on hams... WTH?? One holiday at a time please....

Will be back when able...

Out of sorts...

Good morning campers.

I truly hope everyone is having a good week. yes I know it's only Tuesday. ;-)

I have been feeling out of sorts. Down in the dumps. Fed up. Cheesed off. I don't know what started it...maybe it was the fact that J Land has had some serious issues this past week..maybe the death of Anna Nicole and all the depressing TV coverage.. I don't know but I have felt like I lost my best friend. I spent the majority of the weekend laying around on the couch in the worst mood. Didn't want to do anything yet I was bored. Does that make sense? I truly felt sad. for no particular reason. I tried everything I could think of to cheer myself up but couldn't so just decided to give in to it and go to bed. 7pm Saturday and 8pm Sunday. pathetic. poor hubby didn't know what to make of it all and stayed clear of me. Good idea. ;-) Anyway I am feeling okay again now and I guess it could have been the dreaded hormones or the February blahs but whatever it was I am glad it is gone.

The Chili cook off was okay. I didn't win..didn't expect to..LOL.. I was however a judge and that was cool..I just had a brain wave.. maybe Friday night set me off...do you ever feel out of place? like you don't fit in? That's how I felt Friday night.. hubbies buds from Italy were all there and they were reminiscing about all the good times over there...there was this one particular female chief who got up my nose... she was the one hubby went shopping with in Italy to buy purses for my daughter...he failed to mention that she is one very HOT latina ..hmmm... and the fact that she had this weird look on her face when he introduced her to me didn't help...whatever.. I can't waste my energy being jealous but in hindsight maybe that's what was bothering me all weekend...she disrespected me Friday night.. made a point of hanging onto hubbies every word and kept on with the "oh you remember this?" or "Hey how about that one time" grrrrrr....See how writing things down makes you see things clearly? this is probably exactly what got me in such a pissy mood....oh well...we haven't survived 24 years of military life by me being jealous..you cannot let this stuff get to you and play the "I wonder if" game because you will drive yourself nuts. having said that I am also not stupid. Just wanted to clarify that... ;-)

Ahhhh... I feel better already.. I do have some good news.. the windows are being fitted Thursday (looks at Ainz) I am so excited..of course the forecast for Thursday is lows in the 20's..LOL.. I promise pics...I have to get going here and catch up on some housework..I did NOTHING this weekend...I am meeting the girls for happy hour this evening too..and this Saturday we go to see the Celtic women..and of course tomorrow is Valentines day.. as I have said before it really doesn't mean a lot to me but all the same you like to get something...;-)

I really need to post some good things so I shall leave you with my five....

1. Movies.. I did get out of the house long enough to see "Because I said so" ..go see it ladies..it's funny as hell...

2.. Things that make you go hmm...writing this entry this morning really did make me realize some things...

3... Feeling better.. I am so glad that I woke up yesterday and the "cloud" was gone..for those of you who live under a cloud all the time I truly feel for you..that must be almost unbearable....

4.... Being able to help out a friend this weekend..in the midst of my "funk" I still managed to help some one who has it way worse than I could ever imagine.. I only wish I had the answers...

5..... J Land...just as in real life we are not without our problems.. I just want to say "Can't we all just get along"??

TGIF

Good morning campers.

I truly earned my Journal subject this week!  yesterday was nutso in the clinic..I gave breathing treatments to grumpy old bastards (looks at gaz).. cleaned out ears..gave phenergan shots to people who had the stomach bug..who then proceeded to puke all over my shoes..gave vaccinations to a man traveling to India for his cousins wedding...did EKG's..about a zillion Strep tests..flu swabs..you name it I did it yesterday..and all with the help of one part time newcomer..I have to give credit where credit is due..she did pretty good..she cut out of there as soon as the last of the new patients were in a room leaving me with 6 full rooms..but that's okay...you just wait lil missy..pay back is a bitch... ;-) So yes I think I am fully entitled to say TGIF!!!

I have to go to the base this morning and get groceries..we are out of everything and I am not exaggerating..no milk this morning and no sugar..that is just wrong on so many levels..I noticed hubby's car was in the driveway last night though ..hmmmm.... wonder why he didn't go to the store???

I can't do this entry without referring to the death of Anna Nicole..I know you are sick of reading about it already but to me it is a tragedy. She was a mess. Watching her was like stopping to look at a traffic accident..you know you shouldn't be looking but you just can't turn your head away...her reality show before she lost all her weight was one of the most bizarre shows I have ever seen.. she was just "out there" Obviously the woman was hooked on some kind of Narcotic pain meds..her slurred speech and dry mouth were a dead giveaway...but there were some very "real' moments in that show...I can't help but wonder where her assistant ..(the female) is and how she is feeling..I got the vibe that they may have been lovers at one time..Anna certainly lashed out at her..she would verbally abuse her on the show..but it was obvious they had a bond too... I think Anna was a lost and tortured soul who was craving love and attention. Losing her son was just too much for her. may they both RIP and may her sweet baby girl be raised away from the media and have a somewhat normal life with her daddy..who I believe to be Larry.

Okay folks I need to get moving here. I hope everyone has a great weekend...stay warm or come to Florida..;-)

Hump Day

Good Morning Campers.

Long time no post. Things are crazy at work and only getting crazier. I am working today and tomorrow. The extern did not show up yesterday. The new girl has asked for a day off next week. Do these girls want a job or not? We have 17 new patients today..12 of those are back to back..each of these patients we have to take a complete history on..which can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 20 minutes..then everything has to be charted in the computer... it is going to be an insane day.  Good job I'm halfway there anyway right??  ;-)

Yesterday I spent the day with Jen running errands with her...we did get to have lunch together so that was nice. We don't get to see much of each other now she is working full time.

Nothing  much going on on the home front. Hubby and kids are fine. We do have a Chili cook off for the Chiefs at the big boss's house Friday night. You know how much I hate doing the Navy Wife thing but I think this will be pretty low key so it shouldn't be too bad.

Hope everyone is surviving the cold..I was going to tell you it's cold here but at the risk of being bombarded with snowballs I shan't bother... ;-)

Have a great "Hump Day... at least that will keep you warm... ;-)

L

Something different..instead of my five here is a list of books I recommend..several of you have asked me what I have been reading so here's a few to keep you going...

Sunday morning

Good morning campers.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. I am sure many of us have plans for watching the SuperBowl today. We are going to our friends for a party. I am making Hot crab dip.. I will let you know if it is any good..I haven't made it before but it sounds yummy. I don't know much about the two teams that are playing today so I have chosen to cheer for the Colts just because I like Peyton Manning!

Yesterday hubby and I walked the dog 3 miles. It felt good to get out there and get some fresh air. We didn't do much else has hubby had a slight hangover ;-) I watched a couple of movies.. one was "The Guardian"..it was okay..it was a bit cheesy in parts but it held my interest because my hubby was a rescue swimmer for 20 years...and Kevin Costner is always nice to look at although he certainly is showing his age...bless him... Ashton Kutcher is adorable..but he is such a goof ball..I  just can't see what Demi Moore would have in common with him...they just seem like an odd match to me.

Well people that's about it from my little corner of the universe...I wish you all a lovely Sunday...have fun at your SuperBowl parties..may the best team win!! Can't wait to see Prince at half time.. who is singing the National Anthem I wonder??

TTFN

Safe and Sound

Good Morning Campers.

I am sorry I didn't post yesterday. The Tornado was 105 south west of us. We were under a Tornado watch and did lose Electricity for about 30 minutes and had 2 1/2 inches of rain and some pretty heavy wind but other than that we were fine. To be absolutely honest with you I did not hear about the devastation until much later in the day or I would have came on here and let you know I was okay. I apologize :-(

I was out the house by about 10 and didn't get back till later in the afternoon and didn't come online. I had a "me' day. Got my nails done and my hair cut and then hubby and I went out for our usual Friday night Mexican food and Margaritas. ;-)

My prayers go out to all the families involved. Florida is  used to the threat of Hurricanes but these Tornadoes can be just as deadly as proven Friday morning. One thing this did teach me is to have a battery operated radio handy..no use having warnings on the TV when your electricity goes out.

Have a wonderful weekend and again I am sorry if I worried you guys and I truly appreciate your concern.

Tarot card reading

I recently had my cards read..here is the reading...I won't post any more entries today I promise... ;-)

Card 1 This card is your personality.  King of Pentacles.  You are a person of power and influence.  You find opportunities everywhere.  You are practical and see things in a worldly fashion.  You are steady, methodical, and reliable.  You think before you act and can accomplish anything you put your mind to.

Card 2  This card shows obstacles or influences that stand in your way.  9 of Cups.  The Wish Card.  You want it all and you want it now!  You want all of your dreams fulfilled, even if it only lasts for a little while.  You want emotional and material stability, good health, and great happiness, even though it might just be temporary.  This desire for perfection in your life is working against you.

Card 3  Your present Situation.  Page of Cups.  You have a young man in your life that is important to you.  This young man has a carefully controlled exterior but it masks the volcano of emotions that lie within.  You are having trouble truly knowing him right now.  He is very careful not to let other people see his true emotions and he is very suspicious of other people's motives.  He never forgets a kindness nor an injury.  Right now, dealing with this boy is taking up alot of your time and energy, and you are feeling frustrated by the whole process.

Card 4   Root of the Matter.  This card represents the influences and events of the past that have made you what you are today.  Major Arcana 12 Sacrifice.  This card depicts a major influence in your life, not a transient one.  In the past, you have had to pay dearly for what you want.  You have made many personal sacrifices willingly.  You were forced to recognize the necessity of change, which involved letting one thing go, in order to gain another.  You gave up a long-cherished dream.

Card 5.  Recent Past Influences.  10 of Swords.  Sorrow and Tears.  You recentlyhave had a very rude awakening.  You were deeply disappointed and it caused you great dispair.  You need to realize that an inevitable ending has taken place, because what you had was based on a false premise.  Learn to be more truthful with yourself in the future.

Card 6. Influences in the Near Future.  7 of Cups.   This card represents any influences that are likely to come into play in the near future.  Delusion.  You are still deceiving yourself.  You might think you are achieving something, but you are deluded.  Alot of opportunities surround you, but you cannot keep all the options open forever.  You must make a decision based on careful consideration to make any of the possibilities a reality.

Card 7. Your Attitude.  This card demostrates how your attitude influences circumstances.  King of Swords.  You feel as though you have a great mental grip on what is happening around you.  You feel that you have had some inspired and innovative ideas and it is time to move decisively and put them into action yourself.  You see yourself as a great communicator.  This also speaks of teaching and passing on knowledge to someone else.  You an be ruthless when you know you are right.

Card 8. Views of Others.  How others view you and your present situation.  10 of Pentacles.  Others view you as one with material abundance.  You are financially secure in their eyes.  They see you as a person that has a very strong family union and strong traditions that last.

Card 9.  Hopes and Fears.  Your inner feelings.  The Major Arcana Card 14 The Devil.  You have inner fears that are holding you prisoner.  You have created inner demons - deep fear, hatred,  prejudices and a feeling of self-disgust.  This shadow side of your being is suppressing an experience that you refuse to face and deal with.    The inappropriate response is weakening you and putting you in danger of becoming an emotional cripple.  This card is a Major Arcana Card and so it is a major influence in your life and should not be taken lightly.  Face your deepest fears and negative attitudes, find their sources and release them.

10. The Outcome.  This card reveals the eventual outcome of the influences of the other cards.  Ace of Cups.  Love is the essence of this situation.  You must trust your inner voice and go with your gut reaction.  A seed of emotional awareness has been planted within you.  This card is strongly associated with the home and with the love and contentment that is found there.  It tells of a happy relationship, such as parenthood.  Lead with your heart and all will fall into place.

The Awakening

I found this so inspirational.  You may have read it before.

The Awakening

by Sonny Carroll

There comes a time in your life when you finally get it... When in the midst of all your fears and insanity you stop dead in your tracks and somewhere the voice inside your head cries out - ENOUGH! Enough fighting and crying or struggling to hold on. And, like a child quieting down after a blind tantrum, your sobs begin to subside, you shudder once or twice, you blink back your tears and through a mantle of wet lashes you begin to look at the world from a new perspective. This is your awakening.

You realize that it is time to stop hoping and waiting for something, or someone, to change or for happiness, safety and security to come galloping over the next horizon. You come to terms with the fact that there aren’t always fairytale endings (or beginnings for that matter) and that any guarantee of "happily ever after" must begin with you. Then a sense of serenity is born of acceptance.

So you begin making your way through the “reality of today” rather than holding out for the “promise of tomorrow.” You realize that much of who you are, and the way you navigate through life is, in great part, a result of all the social conditioning you’ve received over the course of a lifetime. And you begin to sift through all the nonsense you were taught about:

  • how you should look and how much you should weigh
  • what you should wear and where you should shop
  • where you should live or what type of car your should drive
  • who you should sleep with and how you should behave
  • who you should marry and why you should stay
  • the importance of having children or what you owe your family
Slowly you begin to open up to new worlds and different points of view. And you begin reassessing and redefining who you are and what you really believe in. And you begin to discard the doctrines you have outgrown, or should never have practiced to begin with.

You accept the fact that you are not perfect and that not everyone will love, appreciate or approve of who or what you are... and that’s OK... they are entitled to their own views and opinions. And, you come to terms with the fact that you will never be a size 5 ora “perfect 10” Or a perfect human being for that matter. So you stop trying to compete with the image inside your head or agonizing over how you compare. And you take a long look at yourself in the mirror and you make a promise to give yourself the same unconditional love and support you give so freely to others. Then a sense of confidence is born of self-approval.

And, you stop maneuvering through life merely as a “consumer” hungry for your next fix, a new dress, another pair of shoes or looks of approval and admiration from family, friends or even strangers who pass by. Then you discover that “it is truly in giving that we receive and that the joy and abundance you seek grows out of the giving. And you recognize the importance of “creating” & “contributing” rather than “obtaining” & “accumulating.”

And you give thanks for the simple things you’ve been blessed with; things that millions of people upon the face of the earth can only dream about a full refrigerator, clean running water, a soft warm bed and the freedom to pursue your own dreams.

And then you begin to love and to care for yourself. You stop engaging in self-destructive behaviors including participating in dysfunctional relationships. You begin eating a balanced diet, drinking more water and exercising. And because you’ve learned that fatigue drains the spirit and creates doubt and fear, you give yourself permission to rest. And just as food is fuel for the body, laughter is fuel for the spirit and so you make it a point to create time for play.

Then you learn about love and relationships, how to love, how much to give in love, when to stop giving and when to walk away. And you allow only the hands of a lover who truly loves and respects you to glorify you with his touch. You learn that people don’t always say what they mean or mean what they say, intentionally or unintentionally and that not everyone will always come through and interestingly enough, it’s not always about you. So, you stop lashing out and pointing fingers or looking to place blame for the things that were done to you or weren’t done for you. And you learn to keep your Ego in check and to acknowledge and redirect the destructive emotions it spawns; anger, jealousy and resentment.

You learn how to say I was wrong and to forgive people for their own human frailties. You learn to build bridges instead of walls and about the healing power of love as it is expressed through a kind word, a warm smile or a friendly gesture. And, at the same time, you eliminate any relationships that are hurtful or fail to uplift and edify you. You stop working so hard at smoothing things over and setting your needs aside. You learn that feelings of entitlement are perfectly OK and that it is your right to want or expect certain things. And you learn the importance of communicating your needs with confidence and grace. You learn that the only cross to bear is the one you choose to carry and that eventually martyrs are burned at the stake. Then you learn to distinguish between guilt, and responsibility and the importance of setting boundaries and learning to say NO. You learn that you don’t know all the answers, it’s not your job to save the world and that sometimes you just need to Let Go.

Moreover, you learn to look at people as they really are and not as you would want them to be, and you are careful not to project your neediness or insecurities onto a relationship. You learn that you will not be, more beautiful, more intelligent, more lovable or important because of the man on your arm or the child that bears your name. You learn that just as people grow and change, so it is with love and relationships and that that not everyone can always love you the way you would want them to. So you stop appraising your worth by the measure of love you are given. And suddenly you realize that it’s wrong to demand that someone live their life or sacrifice their dreams just to serve your needs, ease your insecurities, or meet “your” standards and expectations. You learn that the only love worth giving and receiving is the love that is given freely without conditions or limitations. And you learn what it means to love. So you stop trying to control people, situations and outcomes. You learn that “alone” does not mean “lonely” and you begin to discover the joy of spending time “with yourself” and “on yourself.” Then you discover the greatest and most fulfilling love you will ever know. Self Love. And so, it comes to pass that through understanding your heart heals; and now all new things are possible.

Moving along, you begin to avoid Toxic people and conversations. And you stop wasting time and energy rehashing your situation with family and friends. You learn that talk doesn’t change things and that unrequited wishes can only serve to keep you trapped in the past. So, you stop lamenting over what could or should have been and you make a decision to leave the past behind. Then you begin to invest your time and energy to affect positive change. You take a personal inventory of all your strengths and weaknesses and the areas you need to improve in order to move ahead. You set your goals and map out a plan of action to see things through.

You learn that life isn’t always fair and you don’t always get what you think you deserve and you stop personalizing every loss or disappointment. You learn to accept that sometimes bad things happen to good people and that these things are not an act of God... but merely a random act of fate.

And you stop looking for guarantees because you’ve learned that the only thing you can really count on is the unexpected and that whatever happens, you’ll learn to deal with it. And you learn that the only thing you must truly fear is the great robber baron of all time FEAR itself. So you learn to step right into and through your fears because to give into fear is to give away the right to live life on your terms. You learn that much of life truly is a self-fulfilling prophesy and you learn to go after what you want and not to squander your life living under a cloud of indecision or feelings of impending doom.

Then, YOU LEARN ABOUT MONEY... the personal power and independence it brings and the options it creates. And you recognize the necessity to create your own personal wealth. Slowly, you begin to take responsibility for yourself by yourself and you make yourself a promise to never betray yourself and to never ever settle for less than your heart’s desire. Then a sense of power is born of self-reliance. And you live with honor and integrity because you know that these principles are not the outdated ideals of a by-gone era but the mortar that holds together the foundation upon which you must build your life. And you make it a point to keep smiling, to keep trusting and to stay open to every wonderful opportunity and exciting possibility. Then you hang a wind chime outside your window to remind yourself what beauty there is in Simplicity.

Finally, with courage in your heart and with God by your side you take a stand, you FAKE a deep breath and you begin to design the life you want to live as best as you can.

A word about the Power of Prayer: In some of my darkest, most painful and frightening hours, I have prayed not for the answers to my prayers or for material things but for my “God” to help me find the strength, confidenceand courage to persevere; to face each day and to do what I must do.

Remember this: “You are an expression of the almighty. The spirit of God resides within you and moves through you. Open your heart, speak to that spirit and it will heal and empower you.” My “God” has never failed me.

Thursday Morning

Good morning again ;-)

Pinch punch first day of the month...No returns... ;-)

Thursday already. Time flies when you're having fun huh? Thanks for your kind comments and encouragement. I chose not to leave the haters in the comment section just because I don't do drama. There is enough of it in the real world. I refuse to surround myself with negativity. It spreads like a virus. It gets worse and worse and before you know it you are feeding off that energy. Same goes for positivity.. I prefer to spread that around. :-)

It's been a good week at work. We have a part time MA who I do not think will make the cut. Then we have a student who is doing her externship with us. Part of the MA course requires 120 hours in a clinic or Dr's office of some kind..where you get evaluated on the clinical side of the MA program. I was lucky when I did mine because I got hired the 3rd day. I think this student would be an asset to our office. She is young and enthusiastic and is up to date on the latest stuff. She "gels" well with the staff and is confident. I think we will be offering her a job when she is done externing. The part timer might be offered a job helping out in reception...I would not lose any sleep if they let her go..she does not impress me at all..she has been with us  since the beginning of year and has called in sick at least 3 times....The new office manager is taking charge..she seems to like me and confides in me..maybe because I am closer to her age...I was the oldest till she got there...I don't mind passing that hat on believe me...

Hubby and kids are great.. hubby is still sucking up to me..I kinda like that...we have had a few laughs about it all trust me... ;-)

Other than that not a whole lot going on..it's been pretty darn chilly here but today promises to be warmer only to have it chill off again by the weekend..we have been invited to a Superbowl party.. I really don't have a fav. but I guess I better chose sides because there will be a little wagering going on I am sure and it is always fun to root for someone...maybe I will be a total girl and chose by the colour so I can match my outfit...

I do believe it's about time for me to list my five so with that I shall sign off..stay warm...
