TGIF!!

Good Morning Campers!

I can really say TGIF this week huh??

Okay so here's what happened...Wednesday is our office managers day off..she had been working on changing some things on our system to do with the schedule..well one of the DR's came to me weds morning and said " I am sorry to bother you but can you take a look at my schedule for April" I could tell he was trying not to panic or be mad...I asked what was up with it and that I knew OM had been working on it...well we take a look and somehow she had managed to throw all his patients from April through June in to the "bumped" schedule..which basically means she had blocked the wrong days off for him and if there were patients scheduled for the days she blocked they automatically get bumped..even after she re opened the days they do not come off the bumped list until you actually reschedule them...so there were over 200 patients that needed to be rescheduled! Here we are..receptionist on vacation..OM days off..the new part time receptionist is off so it's me and the other MA and the new MA in the back... the docs call the OM at home and tell her what happened and ask her who she spoke to at our help desk that told her to do that...she decides to come in and "help" ..all she did was confirm what I already knew that we had to go back in and reschedule all the patients..so what does she do?? Give me the schedule to fix..okay so now I have that to do along with run the front by myself..no problem I tell her I will get to it when I can..is she happy with that? NO she has to keep standing behind me asking when do I think I will get to it!! I told her to ask her "friend" the new MA to help.. who by the way was sitting looking out the window because she has no desire to learn any more than she has to..all she can do after 4 weeks with us is bring back a patient..anyways the OM leaves and the docs can tell I am upset.. but I plod on and reschedule all 200 patients..at 5pm on the dot the new MA walks out..we are open to 7pm..did she offer to help? No she left us in that big old mess without looking back..she could have at least offered...at the end of the day the other doc asks me what I thought  about what happened and it basically turned into a mini staff meeting between him and I and the other MA. We told him how we felt about all these part timers who are really not helping us out..they are not there enough to learn much..nor do they want to.. they are of no use to us and to top it off they are the OM's friends that she hired..it's a difficult situation and we were frustrated...he was not aware of some of the things she has been doing and was quite upset..it seems that he too is disappointed in her but they have been lenient because she is good at billing and bringing in the money...he agreed to talk to the other docs and maybe we could get things changed..as in get rid of all these part timers..we have ANOTHER one scheduled to start at the end of April..and just get a full time MA like before...fast forward to yesterday..we decide to go to the pub after work with all the docs to talk things through and pretty much the other docs shut us down..we will "try" things as they are for a bit longer and reevaluate..translation: nothing will change and the other MA and I will just have to suck it up....and now the OM is pissed off because she thinks we are not being fair to her 'friend" that we need to give her more time and be patient with her.. <sigh>

If you are still reading this utter nonsense I applaud you!! It bored me and it's my story LOL!

2..Even if we didn't get what we wanted the MA and I feel good that we spoke up..
