Grateful Sunday..

Good Morning Campers!

After such a sober post yesterday I feel the need to talk about some of the good things going on in my life...It is bitterly cold here this morning..27F/-3C but the sun is shining and it a gorgeous morning...my plans today are to putter around the house a bit..maybe sit outside and feel the warmth of the sun on my face..cook my family a nice Sunday Roast dinner and prepare for the week ahead...

Good Morning..

It's a chilly morning here in Florida..31F..we are to have another hard freeze tonight too..we have to cover our plants etc...we don't get too many days like this and therefore it's a bit of a novelty which seems to put everyone in a good mood for some reason...you see a lot more outside activity when it cools down...people out walking their dogs..kids playing outside etc..personally I love it..I spent most of yesterday reading out by the pool ...the sun was out and it was so neat to be sitting out there in jeans and a sweater...lol

Anyway enough about the weather.. :-)

A couple bloggers have closed their blogs and opened new ones..is that kind of like buying a brand new paper journal..something about the fresh clean pages that makes you want to write? I don't know..I know I like buying new journals but I don't feel the same about my online Blog..I am happy that the AOL J Land page on Face Book has inspired a few people to write again though.. :-)

Ever since I got back from England the time seems to be dragging..It seems like it should be later in the month than the 14th ..not that I want to wish my life away just saying January is dragging...

Those of you on FB may have read that I attended the Funeral of a young man that took his own life. He was the boyfriend of our good friends daughter. 4 years ago his Dad took his own life..he was an alcoholic and had suffered from depression..DJ never really got over it and I was witness to him threatening to kill himself one other time after drinking Liquor...that night he was Baker acted and told the facility that he did not remember anything and they let him home the very next morning..this was about 6 months ago..he did see a counsellor and was on a new medication...the day before his suicide his girlfriend had told him she thought they would be better off taking a break in their relationship because she is moving away to Texas...the day of the suicide they had hung out all day talking..she said things were good between them..she kissed him good bye..he told her he loved her went in his bedroom and shot himself in the head. She pulled in her driveway and got the call from his Mum who found him on his bedroom floor..my heart bleeds for his Mum..first her husband and now her son. The funeral was very emotional and I never thought I would look into the casket of such a young handsome boy that had so much life in him..his smile lit up the room and I adored him..he would always imitate my accent and he was just a joy to be around..I am so mad at him..I think suicide is such a selfish thing to do...I still can't believe he is gone...it just makes no sense to me.. I may never understand... RIP DJ..I know you will never be forgotten ...

This post is all over the place huh? Oh well...that's kind of how my mind works sometimes...

Good Morning Campers!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year. We spent the holidays in England..we had a fabulous time but as always it went too fast...I am hoping to write more in this blog this year..I was just looking back and I barely wrote in 2011.

This is going to be a year of change for us. Hubby retires in December after 30 years in the Navy..what the future holds we have no idea but we are excited. He will probably look for a job..he is way too young and too hyper to sit around and do nothing and there is only so much golf you can play right? :-)

It is absolutely freezing here in North Florida..we have had hard freezes the past 2 mornings..I swear it feels even colder than England did.

Well I have a lot to do so I better get started..just wanted to check in on here...have a great day and stay warm!
