So, here's what you do.  You list nine things about yourself that people might think are somewhat odd and then you tag 3 people to do the same.  Here's mine.

1. I cannot face my hubby in bed...as in cannot lay face to face with him..it freaks me out...

2.. I have to lock the door when I take a shower even if I am alone...

3... I am scared of dogs that I don't know..if I am walking and see a dog I will turn and head in the other direction...

4.... I never drink all of my tea or coffee I always leave about a half inch in the bottom of the cup..it drives me hubby mad..

5..... I cannot walk and take a drink out of a bottle at the same time..neither can I drink while driving...as in take a sip from a cup while driving..I have to be stopped at a light or something...

6...... I tickle my arm to help me relax and fall asleep...

7....... I cannot sit through commercials..if my show goes to commercial I channel surf....

8........ I stay in the same lane while driving..if I am turning right eventually I will get in the right lane and stay there..even if traffic is crawling in that lane..another thing that drives hubby mad..

9......... the cups always have to be bottom down..not rim side down...

Good Morning Campers!!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. We did..the weather was cold but sunny..very refreshing...I absolutely love this time of year and try to relish it before the heat and humidity are back upon us. I am itching to get out in the garden though and pull up all the dead stuff and get some colour in my patio containers and hanging baskets but it's a little early for that yet..the sunshine is deceiving..we have had mornings in the low 30's...this morning it's 42F here with expected highs of 70..I'll take that...I'm watching my god daughter this morning as she was running a fever yesterday and day care won't let her back until she has been fever free for 24 hours so she gets to come hang with me..no kisses though as I am so not wanting to be sick again.... ;-)

 

We went to our usual Mexican joint Friday night and then onto the pub by the river..it was nice to get out the house..that was the first time I had been out since new years eve..can you believe that? I have missed several invitations to dinner and stuff and was beginning to get a little cabin fever..but an afternoon spent reading on the deck Sunday took care of that..anytime I can be outdoors I feel 100% better... I hope all of you out there who have been feeling under the weather are feeling better soon..it seems to have been a terrible winter for sickness..

 

Not a whole lot to report I'm afraid but that's all good..I am feeling better..pretty content with things so I have nothing to complain about..work is not very busy which has everyone a little nervous..of course at this time of year everyone has a deductible to meet on their insurance and a lot of medicines are going over the counter too and I think the economy is so tight that people are not so quick to run to the Dr. unless they absolutely have to..most office visits require a co payment and times are tough... I was sent home yesterday at 4pm because we were so slow..I was the only one in the position to be able to lose a couple of hours.all the other girls need their paychecks...scary times for sure...

 

Okay I am off to read a few Journals..I have got my in box under a 100..woo hoo!  I'm still not getting all my alerts though..I don't understand that..I reset and reset and still don't get them....AoHell I guess...

A few things I am grateful for this morning...

1. My health....that Pneumonia did a number on me...I am just so grateful to be feeling like my old self again...

2.. My crazy little family..it was like a madhouse here last night..everyone telling jokes and goofing off..gave me the warm and fuzzies...

3... making new friends online...;-)

4.... This glorious weather.. <dodging dirty looks and snowballs>

5..... All of you as always..I am making the rounds..if I haven't been by I will...

 

Computer problems

Good morning campers!

  I had to have a new mother board put on my computer so I have been offline for a few days. If it's not one thing it's another huh? But I am back now and all is well except the computer guy appears to have not backed up everything and I have lost a lot of my programs...grrrrr!

Nothing much has been happening in my neck of the woods anyway..it has been pretty chilly here.. work has been uneventful except that they have once again changed my schedule..but the last laugh is on me because I now work Monday and Tuesday and off the rest of the week..who hasn't dreamed of a 2 day work week and a five day weekend?? LOL..as I predicted the new girl could not handle the front desk on a Monday so they had to ask me to go back up there .. the last time that they forced the schedule change on me I was promised that if there was ever another schedule change I would be guaranteed my 2 days together..so voila they need me Mondays so they had to give me Tuesday...trust me I am feeling very smug right now...evil I know but I can't help it!! ;-)  The new schedule goes into effect the first week in Feb.

 Hubby caught my cold but at least his didn't turn into Pneumonia..I will be glad when all the germs are out of the house..we have cold medicine and cough drops..tissues..vicks..you name it it's cluttering up my kitchen counter...

Well this is a boring entry if there was one...I am off to catch up with you guys...I will obviously be deleting and starting over..my in box is at 500 again...hope all is well with everyone..please email me if I have missed anything okay??

On the mend....

Good morning campers!!

 I am happy to report I am on the mend...I was looking back in my archives and I was sick at this time last year too..I usually get sick about once a year so I guess it's good to get it over with in January huh? I just called my office manager and she told me to stay home again today and make sure I am 100% better...I do feel better but only if I take the meds and the meds make me drowsy so I had to make sure I wasn't going to work before I took them...

It's cold and rainy here in Florida..has been bitterly cold the last few days..kinda glad I was cozy here at home....my plan for the day is to snuggle on the couch with a good book or watch mindless daytime TV...;-)

My car is running fine again..I am pissed about it to tell you the truth..all it was was a loose terminal on the battery..but do you think hubby could take 5 minutes and actually look under the hood for me? NO..I took it myself last week to the auto parts store and the guy tested both the battery and the alternator and told me they were fine but that I had a lot of corrosion on my battery and to get a can of coke and pour it over it to clean it off..he also said I must have a "loose' connection..I told hubby this..I did clean it with the coke but I didn't "see" the loose connection..so after my car died at work Monday I got my daughter to come get me and left the car there..hubby and a friend drove over and got the car and fixed the problem in 5 minutes for $4...just irks the shit out of me that he couldn't have done that before and saved me the stress and anxiety I went through driving over the BRIDGE with my car cutting out... <sigh>he is the worlds worst procrastinator..remember the broken pipe? it is still capped off and waiting on him to reconnect the 2 pipes...a 10 minute job at the most.....

Well I feel better after that little vent.....:-)

Time for some things that i am grateful for this morning...

Update

Good Morning campers!!

  I am happy to report I am alive and well..it's been a rough few days here though..I developed pneumonia...never been so sick in my life..I am on steroids..antibiotics..narcotic cough suppressant...steroid inhaler and breathing treatments 3 times a day...I am finally feeling well enough to get online..I did not leave the couch/bed for 3 days...had not left the house since last Thursday...It feels so strange to be this sick...let me tell you I have a new appreciation for people who are house bound that's for sure.... and yes my car finally died and is sitting in the parking lot at work where I attempted to go yesterday and was promptly sent back home after they saw the state of me but calling in on a Monday is a no-no well even if you try to tell them how sick you are... I am glad I went though because I saw the Dr and am now feeling so much better..I was truly too sick to move over the weekend..my Dr friend did call me in an antibiotic but after the Dr at work listened to my lungs yesterday he switched my meds..

 

I am rambling on here but you get the picture..LOL..I have missed you guys..my in box says 704 and most of them are alerts so needless to say I shall once again be starting over...

Good morning campers..

I finally succumbed to the crud that has been going around..as diligent as I am with hand washing etc I must have caught it from one of my patients..I have been down with a fever..headache..body aches and now a cough....I did not move off the couch yesterday and did not take a shower..I cannot remember the last time I was sick enough to go without a shower....I have not been online in 2 days either...I had trouble even doing this entry as the page didn't want to load...I can't seem to get into anyone else's journal either...so I am heading back to the couch....

Good Morning Campers..

I am writing this from my father in laws house. His wife has gone out of town for the weekend to her nieces 40th birthday so we are looking after Pops ..it is easier to come over here and stay rather than drag all his equipment to our house besides he is more comfortable in his own environment..he cannot be left alone though in case he should fall or god forbid anything else..he is on oxygen round the clock and cannot walk very far..he jets around on his scooter..bless him.. I spent the night here last night..hubby was supposed to but he flew up to Nebraska on a Navy flight to bury his comrade who got killed in the motorcycle accident the Sat. before Christmas..how terribly sad but what made it even more upsetting is he was DRUNK..his toxology report came back with a blood alcohol level of 2.2...almost 3 times the legal limit!! Not to mention his buddy that was riding his bike with him is now on the Psych ward on suicide watch from the trauma of allowing him to drive drunk..he was intoxicated also...just a terrible situation all round...anyway back to the point..hubby's plane broke down on the way back and they are stranded in Nebraska! He is hoping to get a flight back today..so I have FIL duty which I don't mind but I have a lot to do at my own house...I will be able to go home for a while once my FIL is up and moving and his Oxygen tank is filled up and he has had breakfast and had his breathing treatments etc...and the kids have promised to pitch in and help me by coming round to visit with gramp today..to top it  off my car is acting up..the radio kept cutting off yesterday and my gauges were dim..then when I turned the lights on the car stalled..I am thinking alternator...so I am worried about that..with hubby not here I can't afford to be without my car..I could drive FIL's but its a big old boat..a Cadillac...LOL.. so my mind is going a million miles a minute trying to figure out the logistics of getting car fixed..taking care of FIL..getting all the stuff done at the house that I usually take care of on the weekends..worrying about hubby and those stupid OLD unreliable Navy planes..(P3's if anyone's interested...;-)  Last night was quite pleasant actually..FIL and I sat and reminisced about the good old days back in the village in England...you have to remember I have known this man for 30 years! I was 15 when I started dating hubby..and I lived with my in laws while I waited for my visa to emigrate to the states so we have a lot of history together...bless his heart he is just the sweetest man and he is getting so frail...watching him last night made me want to cry but he doesn't let it all get to him..he is always on the computer..he used to be a Pilot and belongs to all kinds of groups..he is an inspiration to me and I am truly glad to have this special alone time with him..although to be totally honest it's a little weird sleeping around her without hubby or anyone else here...we have never been totally alone before...I know I'm weird huh?

So anyway that's what's going on with me..I am going to have to delete my alerts and start over so apologies in advance if I haven't been by your Journal..you know I'll get to you though..I always do...;-)

Good morning Campers!!

  I hope everyone had a safe New Years. I wish you all that you wish for yourselves for the upcoming year and more....;-)

  We had a nice evening..we went to a friends house.. had a little party..a few drinks..some fireworks ..all outside on the patio..gotta love New Years eve in Florida..but my did the weather change..take a look at what's in store for the next few days!

I don't mind...it's nice to be able to actually wear some of my sweaters and scarves..I am a big scarf fan and always wore them at home..probably because I come form a University town and everyone wore scarves...not to mention we get to light the fireplace...all the Christmas decorations are down..the house is cleaned up and I have to say that as much as I love the holidays it's nice to get back to some sort of normalcy and our usual routine...that won't really happen till Ryan goes back to school though which is not until the 7th...

I am not really making any new Years resolutions but I do have some "goals"... I was looking back at my list from last year... I managed to cross a few things off that list..this year I want to get back to the gym..there was a spell when I was going every morning and I felt great and really enjoyed it then I got out of the habit and I am committed to going more..at least 3 times a week if not more...I want to travel more this year too...we only went on one trip this past year and that is very unusual for us.. I can always improve my patience level and I also want to get to the bottom of my mood swings...hubby will be glad to hear that I am sure...;-)

I am rambling on a bit this morning so i shall leave you with my first list of good things for 2008...

1. New Year..the feeling of a clean slate..a fresh start...I am always energized at the this time of year..kind of like the first day of school...;-)

2.. My family and friends..I am very blessed..

3...Amazing sunrise this morning..and steam rising from the pool..a beautiful sight...

4....the 2 dozen roses hubby had delivered to me for the new year in which we will have been married 25 years... <sigh>
