Just getting a few things off my chest...

Good Morning campers!!

I never thought I would say this but I miss AOL's J Land....while I appreciate that we have Bloggerville to keep in touch with each other it just isn't the same...I spend so much time tracking down posts....and yes I have google reader.. and yes I use the dashboard.. and yes I ask people to send me alerts etc etc but lets face it nothing will ever compare to the ease of good old J Land alerts pinging in the mailbox every few minutes!! the whole follower thing bugs me too because before I didn't know how many people knew about my blog now that I know that I have 162 followers it bugs me that only about 20 of them bother to comment!! I bet it's because they don't know I've posted just like I don't know they have!! And yes I send alerts out to the 10 measly people blogger allows...other than sending a mass email whenever I post..which would be difficult because I know I don't have all 162 of my followers e mail addresses..what else can I do??...

And another thing....2 of my favourite bloggers quit their blogs in the past couple of weeks and that just plain saddens me....I will miss reading them more than they will ever know....it's like when one of your favourite TV shows ends.... and I can't even catch the re-runs... :-(

My BFF is not my BFF anymore and I am still hurting from that and shaking my head an wondering WTF??

Gaz has the blues and I love him and miss his hilarious postings.... cheer up Gaz...that's an order from yer missus!! ;-)


Just wanted to get these feelings of mine down in writing....been meaning to for a couple of days but life got in the way...I just worked two long arse shifts at the clinic but have the next 5 days off to recuperate...;-) Don't hate me...

I feel better..venting is a good thing.... ;-)

Friday Morning...

Good Morning Campers!!!

Been a while since I wrote anything so thought I would sit and get some thoughts down...it has turned cold again here this morning after a few days of beautiful spring like weather..I spent a lovely afternoon out by the pool reading yesterday afternoon...it will be jeans and a sweater again today though...

We haven't really been up to much..hubby has painted the Den..we updated some light fixtures and as I mentioned before we got new picture frames for all the family photos and I have them all proudly displayed in the hallway..I need to charge my camera and take some pics...I am getting used to my new glasses..took a minute to get used to the progressive lenses but now I am enjoying them...we are re-staining the pool deck and are looking for paint to re-paint the pool slide as it has faded over time in the Florida sun....we are also going to tile our front step too...it has been great having the hubby around to knock out his honey-do list before he takes off again...;-)

On a personal note I still haven't spoke with Jen over what happened..she did pay me back some money she owed and txt me to see if I had a nice Valentines day but other than that we have had no contact..she dropped the money in the mailbox...I am still reeling about it all and think we need a little time and distance...

Speaking of valentines day ..hubby and I went to the bookstore and bought books..how romantic huh?? LOL..to be honest there is nowhere I like more than browsing the bookstore so I was happy as can be....and he did give me a beautiful card...I am not big on V Day anyway..too much hype for me... I know I am loved and I don't need a special day to tell me that...

Well I guess that's about it..all is well here in my neck of the woods... I did just post a couple of pics..my BF from UK posted the pics from NYC on face book and I had to share them here... I am off to check out the brand new Big Lots that has opened and I may get my hair hi lighted... that's about it for today...

Good Morning Campers!!

How is everyone?? Did you have a good weekend?? Do anything fun?? I can't believe it's been a whole week since I wrote an entry.... we have been pretty busy around here...hubby is working the honey-do list ;-) He is painting the den and hallway at the moment...I went out and bought all new matching picture frames for the hall wall..that's where all the family pics are... Kohl's had 40% off their frames and then I had an additional 15% off coupon plus an in store credit of $25..made a huge dent in the total and as I had over 30 frames I needed it...I filed our taxes and we are getting a nice refund back..that's due to hubby having a couple of tax free months while overseas.good news on his orders his pay will be tax free the whole time...;-) I got my new glasses..they are taking a bit of getting used to as they are progressive lenses so I have to remember to move my head...felt a little drunk in them yesterday...LOL.. the best part is I now have prescription sunglasses..and Coach ones at that.... ;-) Yesterday True Beauty and I went to the movies..we saw Grand Torino..it was amazing..I highly recommend it....

On a sour note my best friend of 7 years and I have fallen out..I obviously can't go into details on this public blog but I will tell you what I can..as you know her Mum just died and we went to her parents house to pick up the last of her Mums things she wanted as her dad is moving out of state...well whilst there he told me some unsettling financial stuff that Jen had done without her Mums permission...I did not believe him ..couldn't believe him really...but he gave me proof in the form of a statement..I confronted Jen and she denied it...only to find out the next day it was all true...I could care less what she did but why lie to me? and then when the truth came out why not just an apology for lying and move on?? no she is still in denial and turned really ugly and mean to me..I am thinking it is just shame and embarrassment causing her to act this way...I am hoping when she calms down we can talk....yes it is shameful what she did but I would never desert a true Friend because of a bad decision..she had her reasons I am sure.... but I am left reeling here...I feel like a limb is missing... please say a little prayer if you are so inclined...

REALITY CHECK...

Good Morning Campers!

So it's back to reality..all the relatives are back home safe and sound in their own homes...Ralph had a wonderful Birthday week and we had a blast partying and visiting with everyone.... made us realize how much we miss our families..we are all so scattered...all of my family is in the UK...Lester's are mostly in the UK except for his brother in California and then his dad's family who are scattered through out the USA...

So the somber news?? Of course it's to do with hubby and his damn orders..as you know the job he was PROMISED has "gone away" it literally no longer exists so they had to find him something else as his tour with his current squadron is up....he had the choice of "being shuffled somewhere" for one year then retiring..not an option in this economy and not in our life plan as he wants to do his full 30 years to get his optimum retirement...the next option was back to a Helicopter squadron that is about to do a six month deployment on an aircraft carrier and then is transferring to Norfolk Virginia and he would have to transfer with it...he obviously isn't doing that one..so the third option was going IA with the Army toBaghdad for 270 days (the Navy sends "volunteers" to help the Army)....YEP my hubby will be going to Iraq in August for 9 months...smack in the middle of combat in charge of the Army guys who go out and detect IED"s...lovely...as you can imagine we are not happy but what can you do?? we signed up for this...all we can pray for is that we win the Lottery before then and can get out!! Seriously I am scared to death...the good news in all this is that he is on "temporary assignment" until then..which means he pretty much goes in each day and then pretty much can leave....it was the only way he agreed to all this was if he could have a summer at home first.....

So there you have it....it IS somber news but not the end of the world..the Army guys do it all the time (looks at Christy) but is new and scary to us...please keep us in your prayers as we try to get our heads around all this and if any of you win the lottery before August remember us okay?? ;-)
