More pics ;-)

Well now after learning how to use FTP I find it takes FOREVER with my dumb dial up..so I really think it's time for me to get with "it" and get high speed...

So the pics are of my back yard, a couple of mugshots.. one with glasses one without...playing with my digital..oooo hate the close ups...and one of my new fish.. I named him Finnegan..Fin for short.. ;-)  And one of the true beauty of course..with my nephew in the UK last summer..

Nothing much else going on in my little corner of the universe..today was fun at work..I am now off till next Weds.... go figure!  I don't have a whole lot of plans... may take a ride to the beach..it's my boys 16th on tuesday..where did the time go??

Have a good evening..

L

What day is it anyway??

So I am at the Commissary yesterday, doing my grocery shopping..my cell phone rings..which in itself is odd because I normally don't have a signal on base..so I answer it because I don't like the looks I am getting as my 50 cent Ring tone blasts out in the produce aisle (yes I love 50 cent)..it was work..could I please come in?..one MA out sick the other had a Funeral to go to..so I finish up my shopping and and get it all put away ..throw on my scrubs and head to work...I  jinx ed myself didn't I? by mentioning I had another day off..LOL.. looks like I will be working extra hours next week too.... it happens..it's summer.. I don't mind...I actually love my job i just can't work full time and keep my head above water here at home..something has to give and I would rather it not be on the home front.. I don't like to leave my 15 soon to be 16 year old son with too much unattended time.. I know the things teenagers can get in to.. ;-)

Hubby's email is up and running so we have a way to communicate.. he sounds good..he says he misses me..hmm.. he better ;-)  I saw all those cute little females in their hot little flight suits all goo goo eyes at their handsome British Master Chief..god sounds like a porno movie in the making for sure huh??  I really am kidding .. I do not have a jealous bone in my body any more.. I spent way to many years doing the Jealousy thing and you know what? Once I let it go it made a world of difference.. now HE is the jealous one.. go figure!! This is my theory.. when he was younger hubby was a stone fox and had the confidence to go with it..as the years went by he has lost some of that youthful cockiness and he doesn't think he has "it" anymore.. me on the other hand was far prettier and thinner when I was younger but chose to waste those years always trying to fit in and look like society wanted me to look now as I  have "matured" I am comfortable in my own skin..I make the most of what I have and I live everyday to the fullest and my inner peace shows on the outside.. I actually get more attention these days than I did when I was younger..and I think it's all to do with how you carry yourself..am I making any sense whatsoever?? LOL..

Well enough of my rambling I need to go shower and get ready for work.. I am so mixed up with my days..I guess today is Hump Day right Phil??? Have a good one everybody...

Peace and CONFIDENCE!!!!!!

Just me

I cannot tell you how much your comments on the pic of me and hubby mean to me. In the real world I do not let anyone take my pic or if they do I won't show it to anyone.. I have even been known to confiscate my friends digital cameras and deleting any pics of me so for you guys to say the things you have means more to me than you will ever know. Do you know that was taken with a camera phone??..by my daughter..the "true' beauty..LOL I  guess she has a good phone...

We had a horrendous thunderstorm yesterday but we needed the rain. The gusts of wind were terrible.. my patio umbrella went flying..there was so much debris in the pool..pine cones everywhere..looked like a war zone out there this morning. My DS and I cleaned it all up and I spent the day lounging by the pool ..then we grilled burgers and hot dogs..nothing exciting. DD has gone to get us Milkshakes form Sonic because I have an insatiable thirst going on right now...I hate that.. I have tried everything from a cold beer to milk and I just can't quench it.. maybe I over did the sun bathing today..all I know is i want something cold and sweet... if I didn't know better I would think I was preggers.... no chance of that don't worry... ;-0

So nothing else going on in my world..I did get to speak to DH yesterday..he rang to wish me a Happy Anniversary..bless him...he is fine..so I guess that's it from me..I hope everyone had a nice long weekend.. I don't go back till Wednesday... I am going to be so screwed up with the days though...today feels like a Sunday to me..

Peace..

Lyn

Anniversaries..

I need to clarify something...LOL..that was my daughter in the pics...man I wish I looked like that..well I did once upon a time..anyway thanks for the comments I will pass them on to the true beauty.. ;-)

Today is my 23rd Wedding Anniversary.. Happy Anniversary baby..wherever you are..hopefully settling in in Italy...it is also the 3rd Anniversary of my Mum's passing...I still miss her..because we lived so far apart and I didn't see her very often it was very very difficult for me to accept that she really was gone..I just kept thinking of her in the way that I think of all my family..I usually think of them several times a day.. I will look at the time and figure out what time it is in England and think about what they might be doing..It didn't really hit me until I went home last year and she wasn't there at the airport..or at their house.. and when I finally saw her headstone it hit me..she really was dead...it was very hard for me.. we didn't have the best of relationships..my Mum had issues..I think in all honesty she suffered from depression and definitely went through something when she hit menopause.. I wonder what she may have been like if she got help..she was sooooooooooooooo moody and bitchy and mostly took it out on me.. that is why when I act that way I am terrified I am turning in to her.. the one way to totally piss me off is to say I am acting like my Mother..which Dh will do if he really really wants to get to me... <sigh> We did get along better later in life..when I had moved away.. but she still took things out on me..I remember one fo the the last times I was home she hit me across the face in front of my kids.. my daughter screamed at her to stop..my dad was mortified and everyone got to see how it was growing up in my house.. the only good thing that came out of it was the fact that I was and still am determined to have a better relationship with my own daughter.. and I am so happy to say that we are best friends.. I don't always agree with her choices but I do not judge her or give her ultimatums.. I love her unconditionally....I can only remember my Mum telling me she loved me maybe twice in my whole life...one was when I saw her last before her illness.. I am grateful for that... so Mum you may be gone but you are not forgotten.. and I forgive you for everything.. I know you did the best you could and you loved me in your own way....good night god bless.......

pics ;-)

well I did it!!  Now I need to figure out how you add the pics to your entry and then write under them!!!  Oh well.. you get to see my new kitchen and dining room and a one of the family room and living room...this is fun!!

This and That

He's gone. It was sad. he cried, I cried , the kids cried..my last vision of him was in the rear view mirror in his flight suit with his hand in the air ...bless him. I just want to get on with it now. Sometimes the build up and anticipation is worse than the actual leaving.

In happier news my SIL had her baby boy yesterday.. he weighed in at 8lb 7oz and Mum and baby are doing fine. This is baby number three from the same sperm donor. Their first boy. I wonder how he is going to do being raised in a house of women with 2 Mummies and not too many male role models. I am sure it will all work out fine. Sharon and Amanda are amazing parents. my wish for my newest nephew is a long, healthy, happy life. Welcome to the World Mackenzie Lee Hatfield-Tugwell.

I got a new camera.. I am tickled to death. It's digital and I haven't a clue what I am doing with it. I need to take the time to sit and figure it all out. When I do I will post some pics.

My best friend and his wife took me out last night so I  wouldn't sit around being mopey. We went to see a local band ..they were excellent. They are called "Roger That" We had a good time. I got in at 3am..whoah nelly.. not used to that..  ;-) I am being lazy and laying by the pool and reading and taking it easy today. It's bloody hot here.. thank god for swimming pools and AC.

The family made it safely back to UK.. maybe our lives can get back to normal around here now. I like not having any plans..but it sure was fun having them around and only 2 months and we will be seeing them all again.

Have a lovely weekend...I truly appreciate all the comments about our Veterans.. they do too.

Peace...and prayers...

Lyn

Murphy

He hasn't even left yet and flipping Murphy has visited ..as in Murphy's law. First the wheel fell off the Polaris (automatic pool cleaner) then last night as I was trying to show him the mega insect (of unknown species) bites on my arm I pulled the string on the fan to switch the light on and it came off in my hand and I guess I  pulled so hard I broke the thing..cannot turn it off..it's either on full blown helicopter mode or it's off..shit..so today on our last day together we have to go by a new wheel for chester (our name for the pool cleaner) and a new ceiling fan.. oh how romantic...

I am doing okay.. we had the pre-deployment brief..I met a couple of the other wives..they are okay.. no one is really friendly to the bosses wife ... I did get some good info. though. One of them being a free retreat that the Navy offers for "Personal Growth"  I could use some of that. I might just go.

Went to the beach with the family..My FIL drove his RV there..okay..that was fun..NOT He got the thing stuck in the sand..had to get us towed out.. then after it took us the usual 30 minutes to get our chairs positioned for optimal tanning,  ;-) the coolers out, the towels the boogie boards etc etc he decides we need to leave because the tide is coming in.. WTF?? I went off.. I mean really.. I don't know who was more amazed me or my nephews.. everyone just kinda went quiet.. I just told him how it was..and man did I feel better!!!!  I am now a hero .. albeit with a big mouth.. but my nephews were proud of their Aunty Lyn... I guess me FIL and the witch he married have been driving them crazy but being the "stiff upper lip don't cause a scene Brits." that they are they haven't said anything... well I am known for telling it like it is.. so anyway.. we stayed at the beach.. we did however move back a little bit so we weren't under water... ;-)  Dh called us  ( note he didn't come to beach..sensible fella him) I said " I just had a go at your dad and the witch" he says "Just tell me you didn't hit her" I said "no" I could hear the audible sigh of relief...did I mention I can be a bitch.. I tell the truth me. ;-)

So you think the stress of having family here for 2 weeks and the fact that my DH is leaving for 6 months is getting to me??  Hell yea!!  Did I feel bad for unloading on FIL and the witch?? Yep..for about a nanno second..she is a nightmare..apart from taking good pics with her digital camera she is horrid.  BUT she loves my DH or should I say worships him.. she kisses his arse and sucks up to him. He hates her. BUT he is very respectful to her because he doesn't want to upset his dad. let me just give you some background. Dh's Mum dies unexpectedly of a massive heart attack Dec 1997. FIL brings witch out here to visit in April 1998.. he married her and bought her to the states in July 1998. She had NOTHING when he married her. now she lives in sunny Florida in a beautiful 4 bedroom house, swimming pool, 2 cars, RV, timeshare in Orlando (which he put in her name only) 5 computers.. she sits at a desk with 3 monitors..yep I said 3.. she has 5 kids and 20 grandkids who come all the time for "free' vacations..there is literally someone from her family here every month.. this is the first time any of "our" family has been over for ages..and of course she is bitching about them...FIL is retired..she gets his VA pension for wives..she gets her pension from UK, he gets mucho di niro from being retired from several jobs.. he is in failing health and she will get it all once he dies.. she is now a US Citizen so she gets to stay here after he has gone.. so the free family vacations will continue for her kids..they will all sit back and enjoy what my wonderful real MIL and FIL worked for their whole lives...BTW she used to be my real MIL's best friend in the UK...how about them apples?? I realize I sound bitter..I am.. but I will say that she takes could care of my FIl and I appreciate her for that.. but beyond that I see through her..  she knew that my FIl had money and she saw a ticket out of the UK and a great life for herself and her kids...I just dread the day FIL dies because it is going to World War Three between my Dh and his brothers and sister and her lot...someone will go to jail..that I am sure of..

Well damn.. think that is the most I have ever wrote!! LOL.. do ya think I needed to vent this morning?? thanks for listening to my silly prattle.. if you wouldn't mind I would appreciate a few prayers for my DH and his squadron as they leave to go and do their part for their country.. YES they will be involved in dangerous missions..NO I can't talk about them but I can ask for prayers... and I am.. I am so proud of my hubby and what he does.. I am a bag of nerves today as I think about our last day together... I know that we will come home safe to be and the kids in December. i appreciate your support and all the comments you leave me.. I am just glad I found you guys.

Have a great day.. and Happy Birthday to Lisa Jo for tomorrow..if I knew your address I would have sent you a card hunny!!!!

Lazy Sundays

Happy Days. Just the family round for Beer Butt Chicken

We played Badminton and Volleyball and swam in the pool.. don't know what we would do without it..it was well over 95 degrees here today and it's only May!!! The cousins all had a blast and I enjoyed watching them all and remembering my own childhood with my cousins. Making memories..that's what it's all about.

I apologized to hubs for being a royal bitch.. he said it's okay I said no it's not.  I appreciate all the support and encouragement you guys are leaving me in your comments. It does mean a lot to me. You're right I don't want him to go  :-(

Anyway today was a good day.. and now I am off to watch some mindless TV and chill before bed.

Have good evening..and Phils dog is back in case you didn't know..one more reason today was a good day. ;-)

Saturday

I have been in such a crappy mood. What the hell is wrong with me?? It seems like I have a permanent case of PMS lately. Grrr. I open my mouth and the things that come out of it shock even me!! I have analyzed myself and think I may be putting up the walls to protect myself from the fact that DH is leaving in 6 days and that if I push him away I will miss him less. Does that make sense? Anyway I know I have been a royal bitch and I am making a conscious effort to be nicer . I am sure hubby and kids will appreciate that.  ;-)

So... thanks for the comments on my previous entry. If you knew what a private person I usually am you would appreciate it even more!!  Actually writing about it did nothing but stir up old demons and so I think I won't be doing that any more. I will just add that no we did not prosecute him. Basically because my parents didn't want to drag me through the papers etc BUT my dad beat the living shit out of him and he was ousted in the community and I saved the little girls next door to him by exposing him. I don't necessarily agree with how my parents dealt with it but they did what they thought was right and he is dead now anyway so no point dwelling on it. I saw him one time as an adult and I spat in his face. So that is that.

The weather here in Florida is about picture perfect at the moment. We have clear blue skies, sunshine and a breeze. It is getting warmer everyday though and we are in desperate need of some rain. So all you Brits send us some rain and we will reciprocate with a bit of sunshine...deal??  ;-)

The relatives pissed me off. hmm.. what a shocker huh??  ;-)   My daughter offered to drive them to Valdosta to an amusement park that has free admission to their water park as well. It's closer than Disney and cheaper. We made all the arrangements including me getting up early to go on base and buy the tickets..they are a lot cheaper there..so as I am walking out the door yesterday to drive to the base the phone rings and they have changed their minds..they are soooo lucky I hadn't already got the tickets or they would have been dead meat. ;-)

Well I have rambled on enough for now. I hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday and a great weekend. I have a graduation party to go to today for one of our very good friends daughters. It should be fun. Albeit hot. ;-)

Truths

I have noticed that I only write cheerful happy stuff in this journal of mine. Today will be different. Lisa Jo has encouraged me to open up a little bit. If reading sexual abuse stuff offends you stop right here.

I was sexually abused at the age of 11 for many months by my guitar teacher. My dad wanted me to play guitar in a bad way. I wanted to please him. The guitar teacher was a sick pervert. He was a co worker of my dads at the car factory. he was well respected there and in our village. He was a very talented musician and looked like Slim Whitman.  blech. He was old. in his 60's. I was 11. I wore my school uniform to go there. I went after school. the first time he touched me I thought it was an accident. he was teaching me to play Steel guitar and I had to have the guitar on my lap..he kept telling me to open my legs a little..he "accidently" slipped his hand up my school skirt...he kept it there. I jumped up and he set his fucking dog on me. I was scared of dogs. I still am. He adavnced from there. he would make the dog sit by us. He would have naked pics in the middle of the music I was trying to read..he would say turn to page 7 and there would be a pic of people screwing. He asked me if I knew what it was. I didn't. He said he wanted to teach me about that too. he told me if I told my dad it would break my dads heart because then I wouldn't play the guitar anymore. It progressed. He would show me his stuff. 60 year old stuff is fucking nasty let me tell you. He would show me how to make it hard. he asked me to kiss it. he pulled down my panties and looked at me, and touched me and kissed me there.  he made me drink vodka. he made me smoke. then he would tell me he was going to tell my dad I smoking and drinking. he asked me to bring my boyfriend to his house and let him take picsof us. I  didn't have a boyfriend. he said that's okay I will be your boyfriend. I vomited and he hit me.

I can't write anymore. the truth hurts. :-*(

New Crush ;-)

Take Home Chef Curtis Stone

Holy flipping moly.. this guy is gorgeous!!! he has a new show on TLC.. take home chef...I think that's what it's called.. I couldn't concentrate.. he is so HOT!! And has an Australian accent too.. .. my my my my my!!!!!!

That's all..back to your regularly scheduled journaling...

Lyn   ;-)

Tuesdya Morning

So here are the rest of the pics. I included one of the dog cadet... ;-)  This has definitely made my mind up to go get a digital camera. This is fun!

So the family visit continues.. My BIL and niece fly back to California tomorrow morning. They are the only ones staying at my house.. the others are all at my FIL's as he has 3 spare bedrooms. I will be glad to get my house back to normal.. I am a creature of habit and like things just so. BUT I have enjoyed them so much..I love seeing the kids spending time with their cousins making memories. The others leave the 26th.. the day DH leaves.. it is bittersweet having them here at this time..it's nice to be having such a good time but it also means DH and me aren't getting any alone time.. we have got to squeeze that in somewhere before he leaves.. I am really dreading it to be honest. The fact that he can't come home whenever I want or need him to is going to be a reality check for me. I think perhaps I have taken that fact for granted in the past.  I have a good size house to take care of, a huge yard, in ground pool, meals to shop for and cook, laundry, bill paying, the dog, the fish (lol) and all the other things that make a house run smoothly, not to mention two 12 hour shifts a week at the clinic.. I know I can do it.. I have done it before and I know the kids will do their share.. DH will be laying the law down before he leaves.. ;-) Guess I am just getting anxious about it all... I know others have way more on their plate and manage just fine... I will too. Having this journal to vent in will be a help. I have always wrote in a journal but getting feed back and support is taking it to a whole new level for me.  I kinda like it  ;-)

I hope everyone is having a good start to their week.. My Monday at the clinic was a good one.. we were busy and that's just how I like it...makes the day fly.... I need to go catch up on my alerts and such...  Have a great Tuesday..

Happy Mother's day!!

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful Mums out there in J Land. I hope that you enjoy your special day. Remembering my own Mum today with fond memories and a tug on my heart strings.

So far so good with the relatives. My MIL took some pics yesterday with her digital soI will share them here when I receive them. The new baby is gorgeous and sooooo good. the lads are as cute as ever as are their girlfriends. my BIL and niece from California are good too..my niece has piercings all over and a tattoo across her entire back..red hair and no eyebrows and the whitest skin I have ever seen and still drop dead gorgeous and I have to laugh at her because I think she has a touch of her rebellious aunty Lyn in her..I say you go girl... ;-)  The cousins have been having a good time catching up..it's like they are never apart after 5 minutes they are back to how they always are..laughing , cutting up, reminiscing..I just sat back yesterday and watched it all with a warm fuzzy feeling....guess I miss family more than I realize...

Got my Mother's day gifts early..I got a beautiful bouquet of different coloured roses, a card and one of those floating chairs for the pool..it has drink holders in the arms and a nice pillow..perfect for reading in the pool... I also got a fish... I had this beautiful glass bowl that I kept saying needed a fish in it..well lo and behold my DD came home with the bowl decorated in bright pink marbles with an orchid in the center and a beautiful beta fish...it is gorgeous and the colours are spectacular.. i was very touched... Today we are going for Sunday lunch at my MIL house..all 12 of us... should be fun!!

Hope you all have a great Sunday..especially you Mums....

heres the bloody pic!!

Sorry about that..I see that the previous entry showed the pic as the dreaded red X..so here I  am...

TGIF

A picture of me...in my glasses..lol

Anyways the weekend is here..omg..are we ready?? I guess as ready as we will ever be!!! I am quite looking forward to seeing everyone. My nephew is bringing the latest member of the Hatfield clan..little Shay William.. he is 9 months old..bet he was a joy on the flight over huh?? lol..I can remember flying when mine were babies.. 9 hours on a plane... not fun...

Yesterday I met my Dh on base and we went to the Commissary (the grocery store) .. it was a flipping mad house!!!  We got 2 carts full..yikes..and then went to the BX and bought some booze.. we are having a BBQ this weekend... so we are all set.. today I am finishing cleaning up the house and then I need a pedicure..the dog is off to the groomers to get foo-foo'd up..he stinks right now.. I  think he got into the snake that DH killed in the back yard the other night. Yes we have snakes in our garden..big 'uns too!!  I hate snakes, and bugs, and lizards and we have all of the above here in Florida..the only downside to living in paradise..well that and the bloody humidity!!!

Today is National Military Spouse Appreciation Day so happy days to all my fellow military spouses.. God Bless you all because as we know we really have the toughest job in the forces...;-) between that and Mothers day I ought to be getting pampered this weekend..what do you think??  ;-)

Well I am off to get showered and get this show on the road..I hope you all have a lovely Friday and a glorious weekend...

Peace..

Here I am

Been a couple of days. I have got lost in thought the past few days. Lots of stuff swirling around in this head of mine. All started with a blast from the past in the way of a phone call. Someone I was very close to when I first moved to USA  over 20 years ago. We were very close friends. We hung out all the time. She made my life in America a lot easier..I was young and alone a lot. I did not know anyone. She introduced me to her friends and they welcomed me with open arms. She was also the first gay woman I had ever met. She showed me a whole other way of life and I tribute her friendship to the open minded person I am today. She taught me that love has no boundaries. Love is love..it's that simple. I should mention that my sister-in-law is gay. Her and her partner have 2 beautiful little girls..they each gave birth to one..they are real sisters ..they have the same dad..a sperm donor..I thank god for him because my nieces are the bomb!!  My SIL is having a son in June ..also from same dad. Isn't technology flipping amazing??  Anyway when my SIL came over from UK to visit us in Virginia I introduced her to my friend as I had an inkling my SIL might be gay... she was  ;-)  And she had the best damn time with my friend..went to her first gay bar..etc etc... So my friend is special to me for many reasons. We unfortunately lost contact over the years...to hear from her last week was incredible. I miss her. I miss our friendship. I miss us.

So what else?? I have been cleaning like a fool here..getting ready for Friday. Got my hair cut today. Went tanning...yes I still tan even though I live in sunny Florida..go figure!  My haircut looks okay..can't decide what I am doing with the colour so I am letting the sun do it's magic for now...

Mother's day here in USA Sunday...I miss my Mum. this is a rough month for me. Dh is leaving, it's our anniversary and he won't be here..and 3 years since Mum passed. Top that off with a house full of relatives and a blast from the past...wonder why I can't sleep at night  ;-)  It's like my mind goes into over drive..one thought leads to another and another...well you get the picture...

Guesswhat?? It's Hump Day already tomorrow.. <looks at Phil> You all have a good one...BTW AI rocked tonight except for Mc Phee...bye bye you are the weakest link!! Oh wait that's another show...  ;-)

Sunday Morning

Yesterday was a busy day. It went something like this. Up at 8am, 2 cups of coffee, read newspaper, shower, drive to pick up friend and her daughter (friend has no car it got repo'd) drive friend and daughter to Imaging centre so friend can get MRI of foot, entertain 23 month old daughter for over an hour while friend is having MRI, drive friend and daughter by my house to show off almost finished kitchen, take friend and daughter home.  Drive back home.Go to Pier 1 with hubby to show him the barstools I want, he doesn't like them we leave without them. Stop at Target to look at patio furniture as hubby was not impressed with the set I liked at Pier 1 for $1000. hubby doesn't get Pier 1 by the way. Design my own patio set from targets huge selection. Less than half the price of Pier 1. try not to slap the smirk off hubby's face. buy 2 Venti Frappichino Coffees at star bucks for almost the price of patio set. Home to assemble new patio table. Put new Patio table and chairs and cushions and Umbrella out on patio. Cook chicken on grill while while enjoying new patio set. Drink a couple of glasses of vino. Watch some stupid chick flick on Lifetime with Jennifer Hewitt doing a terrible impersonation of a British accent. Fall asleep before the end. Not a terribly exciting Saturday but just the kind I like. ;-)

Today I have to go to Walmart to get some stuff for the pool and then I am going to have a lazy day by the pool if the weather cooperates, it's looking a bit cloudy out there. hubby is playing golf, kids are still asleep and I am on my 3rd cup of coffee. I  have read a ton of Journals already this morning. I like hearing what everyone else is up to in their little corner of the world.

We are being bombarded with relatives on Friday. My 26 year old twin nephews and their families are coming over from UK. They will be staying with my FIL ..he has 3 spare rooms. My BIL and niece are flying in from California to surprise everyone..they will be staying with us. It will be chaotic and crazy and all the other wonderful things that happen when families get together... ;-)

The count down is on till hubby leaves. I hate it. I feel like we have to make every single moment count. We are running out of time. There is so much we should have done. I did not know but hubby was planning on taking me to Vegas for our 23rd Anniversary which falls on the memorial Day weekend but then the Navy moved his leaving date up to the 26th.  :-(  The 28th is also the 3rd anniversary of my Mums death. she died on our 20th wedding anniversary.

Guess I should get moving here..

Have a great Sunday....

Early morning ramblings...

I watched "BrokeBack Mountain" yesterday. I thought it was a beautiful love story.I don't care if it was about 2 guys it was a love story none the less and it made me cry..it was so moving. They truly were in love. The scenery was magnificent too. I sat and watched the entire thing and didn't even move. That's how good it was. So two thumbs up from me boys. ;-)

Hubby is leaving on the 26th for 6 months. It has been a few years since he did an actual deployment where he is gone for that length of time. Yes he was stationed in New Orleans and I was here but he could come home pretty much whenever he wanted to. This time he will be on the other side of the ocean. He will be able to come over and see us when we are in UK but still...6 months... damn I am so not ready for this.

My daughter has turned into the social butterfly since turning 21!! this is a good thing..she has had a less than perfect boyfriend for the past 5 years. He just now got a job and a car..she has been driving him around and doing everything for him until now..now she doesn't see him so much and there seem to be some new "admirers" on the scene..that can only be a good thing..my DH does not like current BF ..they do not speak..he comes to our house only when Dh is not here.. as you can imagine this has been a strain on all of us... tonight she s going out to celebrate Cinco DE Mayo with the "girls".. she got a new outfit and shoes...it is so nice to see her doing the stuff she should have been doing all along...I am happy  :-)

We got the new Kitchen light up..it looks good..it's an "S" shape track light..the lights are terracotta colour..now all DH has to do is finish the painting and put the trim back up..and hopefully the cabinet door they forgot will be in next week..

I have rambled on enough..I hope everyone has a great day..TGIF!!!

food for thought

Read all the way to the end!!!

This should probably be taped to your bathroom mirror where one could read it every day.

You may not realize it, but it's 100% true.

1. There are at least two people in this world that you would die for.

2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.

3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.

4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you.

5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.

6. You mean the world to someone.

7. You are special and unique.

8. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you.

9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it.

10. When you think the world has turned its back on you take another look.

11. Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude remarks.

Tuesdays with Lyn

Catch up time. The Golf tournament took up most of the weekend. Friday nights social was no big deal after all that  ;-)  Dh made it through to the final round but got eliminated in a chip off..they had to use a tape measure and he lost by an inch :-(  He did get a nice trophy and a $300 gift certificate to the pro shop.

Other than golf we didn't do a whole lot this weekend. I went out for drinks with the girls from my other clinic. We had fun. I had maybe a little too much ;-)

Work was crazy busy yesteday but in a good way. Lots of patients and lots to do.  The day flew by.

I am way behind on my alerts and comments. I am trying to catch up. Amazing what being offline for a couple of days will do. I have read some pretty powerful entries though. My heart goes out to those who suffer abuse in any way size or shape. I am happy that we have a place to vent. Everyone has baggage..some of it is heavier to carry than others but we all have it.  Maybe one of these days I will talk about mine..

I hope everyone has a good day today..it looks like it's going to another beautriful day here.. take care everyone..Lyn
