The grass is greener....

Wednesday. Hump Day!! I have to work today and tomorrow. Things are a little tense at the office these days and probably will be till the office manager leaves. They are treating her rather shabbily in my opinion and I am not happy. Just because she's leaving doesn't mean they have to take it as a personal insult..people come and go in the work place..get over it!!  I wish her all the best and know this was a hard decision for her and their behavior is not helping.

Still haven't talked to the hubster but have had an email from him so I know he's okay.. it's difficult with the time difference..he is 6 hours ahead of us and when I get home he is asleep and vice versa...

Nothing much happening in Lyn's world. I did have a brain wave though..alert the media..lol..I am tired of doing the yard work..Ryan helps a lot but we are both over it ..we having been mowing at least twice a week all summer..not to mention the weed wacking, edging, trimming etc. well hubby gave me his friends number to call to have him do it..then I got to thinking..my friends hubby owes me money.. yes I am a sucker sometimes and do stupid things like lend friends money...well this was well over a year ago and he has made no attempt to pay it back so I asked if he would like to pay it off in kind (bet he thought his luck was in aye? ) and so for the next 10 weeks he will be doing the yard work for me...yay!! wish I had thought of this earlier in the summer..ha! so hence the colour of my entry today..lawn green..lush if I do say so myself..and it rained last night so I can see it growing as we speak and I don't have to worry about cutting it this weekend..neener neener neener!! LOL!

Kids are doing good..Ryan is hating school..not really but you know what I mean.. not his fav. place to be but like I told him something we all had to do..I just wish he would try harder..he's going to regret this when he is older but you can't tell them huh?? You only get one chance at this and he is blowing it... <sigh> he does enough to scrape by and that is it...Rachel is back at college in the evenings..she is only a couple of credits short of getting her Associates degree...her and her brother are like night and day..she has worked since she turned15, got her license on her 16th birthday.. works full time to pay for her 2005 Toyota..I keep waiting for Ryan to mature.. I am not worried about him not driving...in fact I am glad he's isn't he is too immature to handle that anyway...but I would like to see him get a little part time job, gain some confidence and responsibility...

Sorry Ryan rant over...

Okay I need to get going here.. get a shower and head to work..you guys have a great "Hump Day"... no chance of me humping I can tell you that... ;-)

Great job on the bartering!  Imagine! There's GRASS somewhere in this great county of ours!
Here in south central PA, we haven't had rain in weeks.  I was just thinking yesterday as I was walking across the crunchy deadness and picking up ceramic dog poop that at least I hadn't had to mow the lawn in a long time.  If this keeps up I might get away with only having to mow one or two more times this season (if at all)!

Great memory!!! I think the guy's probably still getting off easy on just mowing the lawn and weed eating! I'd make him edge too! LOL That's one of the few nice things about living in an apartment (housing) here....we don't have to mow or anything here. Gas is so expensive off post here in Germany it's over $7.00 a gallon, so not quite as bad as The UK, but American's definately have nothing to complain about...of course at least in Germany public transportation is so available and easy and cheap that they don't HAVE to drive. I am truly thankful for the shoppette prices through Aafes!! :)

(smiles) hey, if yankee candle read your journal do you think Virgin Atlantic do too? cause i really could do with a plane ticket to Florida. Or maybe Ford could send me a car? I'm not fussed, either one! lol!

Hey, well done for getting someone to do your yard for you. Adams parents have to mow at least twice a week cause the grass grows so fast. And they really have a large property so they'll be riding around on that mower in the Florida sunshine for ages. Its crazy!

I feel for Ryan, but I really hope that he comes to see how important school is before its too late. You really need it, even if its just your high school education!

wow gas is like 3.25 here in IL. Yep I have 3 kids and my boy seems the most studious. In fact my twin girl that's 15 with my son she is already driving me crazy and we only had 1/2 day of school today. It's going to be a long school year. It's funny how the kids can be so different.

I just want to say that in today's business world it doesn't pay to do the right thing and give 2 weeks notice.  Many companies will treat you like you are scum.  I say do what is right for you.  Anyway, have a good Thursday.
