TGIF. So yesterday was a busy day. Got my pedicure.. OMG that girl was the bomb..she gave my feet and calves at least 15 minutes of massage!!! And she painted this adorable little flower on my big toe.. so I have pretty toes again..so important in Florida where we wear flip flops most of the year ;-) I hate gnarly feet...eww!! Also got my hair cut, went to the store, took Ryan to the Orthodontist, and then cooked Fajitas! Today I need to clean the house and do laundry. By the way do you see what time it is?? I have been awake since 4am.. I hope I can go back to sleep for a couple of hours...
Nothing much else going on..talked to hubby.. he is doing okay.. he is off to Iraq soon for a couple of weeks so special prayers for him please.. he is geared up for the cup final I am pulling for Italy... just can't do the French... I told hubby how he makes me feel bad if I tell him anything "negative" which is BS in my book.. I am here dealing with all the day to day stuff and I can't even vent to him?? He explained that it makes him feel guilty for not being here.. I guess it's tough for both of us but we are going to have to deal.. this is the worst part of deployments.. I think it's equally hard on each of us.. they think we have it made because we are home with our kids etc and we think they are lucky they aren't here trying to do it all solo...
I am rambling on here this morning so let me get to my gratefuls...
1. That I could bring a smile (and tears!) to Lisa Jo's face...
2.. The thunderstorm last night that bought some much needed rain...
3...Foot massages and haircuts..
4.... Txt messaging my crazy sister.. I can't wait to see her..
5.....Books...re-reading Barbara Samuel's "Kitchen Goddesses".. I recommend any of her books...
Have a great weekend...

Chad tried that whole guilt thing with me our first 2 deployments...then before he left for the 3rd (his first to Iraq) he finally saw what it was like for the wives and families left behind. A good friend of ours, who lives across the street was pg (we had our babies on the same day actually) and she had 2 other little girls. We were outside the day the back window of her van just went and exploded (it was so stinking loud). Chad ran over to make sure they were all ok, they were outside playing. He saw how for her and other wives life kept going, right along with all the fun little problems. As we all know nothing breaks when they're home, it's always while they're deployed.
That experience gave Chad empathy and understanding that the kids were not perfect little angels, just because Daddy was gone and it was hard for Mom, he saw they actually seemed to act up even more. He saw that money problems could still happen when unexpected things came up.
Our 1st OIF deployment he was really good, but this deployment he's been just awesome at letting me vent, cry, etc (even about the hot temps! ROFL which is rediculous on my parent when it's a humid 85 and it's over 130 there!), but he does.
I think the Active Duty need to see how life keeps throwing curve balls, even while they're gone, it would help all of them with a different perspective. I try to do my best to be understanding at how bad it is there and can't imagine being away from my family for a year and honestly pray I never have to know, other than being away from Chad.
God Bless
That was so sweet of you to send Lisa Jo some flowers! Made her week.

I love that you sent Lisa Jo flowers, how sweet and thoughtful! I also love how you list the things you are greatful for, how wonderful! I'm going to keep your hubby in my thoughts and prayers, I can't even imagine what you must be going through over that. It makes me feel foolish for complaining about my husband working 45 minutes away.. it could always be worse.. Take care!
I love giving Foot Masages................. with warm oil
Last pedicure I had they hot water at the place was out they did not tell me till they came out with water from the micro wave- was awfull! I saw you had a terrier.I have a sticker my yorkie is smarter than your honor student lololol
Good tears, trust me. I can not believe that you care more for me than family.
I pray for your DH daily. I have the worst feet in the US. I could not let another woman see my feet, she would talk about me behind my back, LOL.
I want to see your new hair cut!
love you,lisa
