Yesterday was a busy day. It went something like this. Up at 8am, 2 cups of coffee, read newspaper, shower, drive to pick up friend and her daughter (friend has no car it got repo'd) drive friend and daughter to Imaging centre so friend can get MRI of foot, entertain 23 month old daughter for over an hour while friend is having MRI, drive friend and daughter by my house to show off almost finished kitchen, take friend and daughter home. Drive back home.Go to Pier 1 with hubby to show him the barstools I want, he doesn't like them we leave without them. Stop at Target to look at patio furniture as hubby was not impressed with the set I liked at Pier 1 for $1000. hubby doesn't get Pier 1 by the way. Design my own patio set from targets huge selection. Less than half the price of Pier 1. try not to slap the smirk off hubby's face. buy 2 Venti Frappichino Coffees at star bucks for almost the price of patio set. Home to assemble new patio table. Put new Patio table and chairs and cushions and Umbrella out on patio. Cook chicken on grill while while enjoying new patio set. Drink a couple of glasses of vino. Watch some stupid chick flick on Lifetime with Jennifer Hewitt doing a terrible impersonation of a British accent. Fall asleep before the end. Not a terribly exciting Saturday but just the kind I like. ;-)
Today I have to go to Walmart to get some stuff for the pool and then I am going to have a lazy day by the pool if the weather cooperates, it's looking a bit cloudy out there. hubby is playing golf, kids are still asleep and I am on my 3rd cup of coffee. I have read a ton of Journals already this morning. I like hearing what everyone else is up to in their little corner of the world.
We are being bombarded with relatives on Friday. My 26 year old twin nephews and their families are coming over from UK. They will be staying with my FIL ..he has 3 spare rooms. My BIL and niece are flying in from California to surprise everyone..they will be staying with us. It will be chaotic and crazy and all the other wonderful things that happen when families get together... ;-)
The count down is on till hubby leaves. I hate it. I feel like we have to make every single moment count. We are running out of time. There is so much we should have done. I did not know but hubby was planning on taking me to Vegas for our 23rd Anniversary which falls on the memorial Day weekend but then the Navy moved his leaving date up to the 26th. :-( The 28th is also the 3rd anniversary of my Mums death. she died on our 20th wedding anniversary.
Guess I should get moving here..
Have a great Sunday....
Lyn

I think it's awesome that for half the price, you got a patio set that is, I'll bet, just as lovely as the pricey one! Take some pics for us! you sure did have a busy day yesterday. The weather has been just perfect for the pool, hasn't it? Hayley has been in it for two days! I hope you enjoy your time with the family....we have a very small family, so we don't get lots of visits. I always wanted a large, happy family! Have fun and enjoy your Sunday! ;o)
I am envious Lyn! Would love a pool but its impossible almost in the UK. . would need a covered up one. Patio set sounds nice too
The 26th is my bday. You must have an emotional time in late May...sorry for that. I have never been to a Pier 1 before. I dont like Target.
Sounds like you are trying to take it easy before all the family shows up. Enjoy yourself!
hugs,lisa jo
Busy busy. Your anniversary must have lots of emotions for you these days. Have a good week. Take care.

I can imagine you sitting out with your new stuff. What a lovely family gathering you are going to have. What a shame about the trip to Las Vegas and with hubby going away, I feel for you. Hugs

Hi, I'm sure I've dropped by before but my memories not quite what it was and my last visit may well of been in a bit of an haze due to the celebratory vino I've taken to drinking lately, lol. You must really be missing the wonderful UK weather, it must be awful for you having to spend your weekends relaxing by your pool, lol. Will be back to read more, take care, Sam xx
