Murphy

He hasn't even left yet and flipping Murphy has visited ..as in Murphy's law. First the wheel fell off the Polaris (automatic pool cleaner) then last night as I was trying to show him the mega insect (of unknown species) bites on my arm I pulled the string on the fan to switch the light on and it came off in my hand and I guess I  pulled so hard I broke the thing..cannot turn it off..it's either on full blown helicopter mode or it's off..shit..so today on our last day together we have to go by a new wheel for chester (our name for the pool cleaner) and a new ceiling fan.. oh how romantic...

I am doing okay.. we had the pre-deployment brief..I met a couple of the other wives..they are okay.. no one is really friendly to the bosses wife ... I did get some good info. though. One of them being a free retreat that the Navy offers for "Personal Growth"  I could use some of that. I might just go.

Went to the beach with the family..My FIL drove his RV there..okay..that was fun..NOT He got the thing stuck in the sand..had to get us towed out.. then after it took us the usual 30 minutes to get our chairs positioned for optimal tanning,  ;-) the coolers out, the towels the boogie boards etc etc he decides we need to leave because the tide is coming in.. WTF?? I went off.. I mean really.. I don't know who was more amazed me or my nephews.. everyone just kinda went quiet.. I just told him how it was..and man did I feel better!!!!  I am now a hero .. albeit with a big mouth.. but my nephews were proud of their Aunty Lyn... I guess me FIL and the witch he married have been driving them crazy but being the "stiff upper lip don't cause a scene Brits." that they are they haven't said anything... well I am known for telling it like it is.. so anyway.. we stayed at the beach.. we did however move back a little bit so we weren't under water... ;-)  Dh called us  ( note he didn't come to beach..sensible fella him) I said " I just had a go at your dad and the witch" he says "Just tell me you didn't hit her" I said "no" I could hear the audible sigh of relief...did I mention I can be a bitch.. I tell the truth me. ;-)

So you think the stress of having family here for 2 weeks and the fact that my DH is leaving for 6 months is getting to me??  Hell yea!!  Did I feel bad for unloading on FIL and the witch?? Yep..for about a nanno second..she is a nightmare..apart from taking good pics with her digital camera she is horrid.  BUT she loves my DH or should I say worships him.. she kisses his arse and sucks up to him. He hates her. BUT he is very respectful to her because he doesn't want to upset his dad. let me just give you some background. Dh's Mum dies unexpectedly of a massive heart attack Dec 1997. FIL brings witch out here to visit in April 1998.. he married her and bought her to the states in July 1998. She had NOTHING when he married her. now she lives in sunny Florida in a beautiful 4 bedroom house, swimming pool, 2 cars, RV, timeshare in Orlando (which he put in her name only) 5 computers.. she sits at a desk with 3 monitors..yep I said 3.. she has 5 kids and 20 grandkids who come all the time for "free' vacations..there is literally someone from her family here every month.. this is the first time any of "our" family has been over for ages..and of course she is bitching about them...FIL is retired..she gets his VA pension for wives..she gets her pension from UK, he gets mucho di niro from being retired from several jobs.. he is in failing health and she will get it all once he dies.. she is now a US Citizen so she gets to stay here after he has gone.. so the free family vacations will continue for her kids..they will all sit back and enjoy what my wonderful real MIL and FIL worked for their whole lives...BTW she used to be my real MIL's best friend in the UK...how about them apples?? I realize I sound bitter..I am.. but I will say that she takes could care of my FIl and I appreciate her for that.. but beyond that I see through her..  she knew that my FIl had money and she saw a ticket out of the UK and a great life for herself and her kids...I just dread the day FIL dies because it is going to World War Three between my Dh and his brothers and sister and her lot...someone will go to jail..that I am sure of..

Well damn.. think that is the most I have ever wrote!! LOL.. do ya think I needed to vent this morning?? thanks for listening to my silly prattle.. if you wouldn't mind I would appreciate a few prayers for my DH and his squadron as they leave to go and do their part for their country.. YES they will be involved in dangerous missions..NO I can't talk about them but I can ask for prayers... and I am.. I am so proud of my hubby and what he does.. I am a bag of nerves today as I think about our last day together... I know that we will come home safe to be and the kids in December. i appreciate your support and all the comments you leave me.. I am just glad I found you guys.
