I'm back!

Good morning Campers!!

Did ya miss me?  I really didn't go anywhere..just needed a little break..I appreciate the 67 positive comments..what I didn't appreciate were the ones that left positive comments here on my blog but felt the need to blast me in other peoples blogs...was that really called for? I re read and re read my last entry and I think I made myself pretty clear...I was being totally selfish and taking a break..that's it...I never said I was leaving...I never said I didn't want to read sad or depressing entries ever again..what I said was all the sad and depressing news was effecting ME..it wasn't about YOU it was about ME... I am the type of person that likes to fix everyone's problems and I was starting to try to do that and failing miserably.. when you read as many blogs as I do it's impossible..so I took a break .. if I caused any one of you one single moment of hurt or pissed any one of you off I apologize.. that was not my intent...and that is the last you will of hear of this from me  ...I refuse to play into the drama that has developed.. if you judge me on one entry then that says it all...it wasn't my best performance as Simon would say  ;-) but it was one lousy entry people..give me a break...

So..onwards and upwards..it has been a pretty busy but uneventful week here...got my oil changed...went to the commissary and stocked up on groceries...helped my friend Jen shop and organize a baby shower for her daughter in law....then helped her do all the food and decorate..yesterday was the shower..it went well... do they do baby showers in UK yet? they didn't have showers of any kind when I lived over there (showers are parties thrown in the persons honour..the bride to be or the mother to be..there are games played and of course gifts)... today I need to catch up on laundry and am going to cook a Sunday roast...we have had so much rain lately...it is doing the lawns good though...Rachel bought a new Boxer puppy...she drove all the way to North Carolina to pick him up..I get to meet him today..she also got a tattoo done in Ali's honour..I must post a pic of that..hubby and son went to the Monster truck show last night....Rachel's new job is going well..she is still in the training stage...

I think that's it...LOL..you guys have a great Sunday...

L

My five.....

1. Amazing emails this week...good for my soul...

2..Rain...everything is looking so green...

3... Cell phone insurance..my son got his 2nd cell phone wet in a month....

4.... hubby is feeling better....he had another "bottom" problem...;-)

5.....American idol..I am in love with the dreadlock boy..those eyes..and the aussie...wow can he belt out a tune....

Hello there !  So glad you are back.  Sounds like a busy time of if for you.
Showers are such fun to do.    I'm glad your daughter got a new dog and love it that you post those '5'.  Counting our blessings is always a good thing.  It's still winter here in Ohio and I think about you and your sunshine often.  It'll come our way soon.  February is almost gone and March will bring a few warmer days.

Of course I missed you, Lyn! I have a daughter named Rachel, too.  Glad Rachel got her boxer.  My friend has a boxer she calls "Thug", which he is anything but LOL.  But what a name!  It makes me laugh everytime she talks about him.  Hope you have a lovely day!  God Bless!

We've already spoken privately, and you know that yes, I took your entry in a way that you did now intend it to be taken.  I'm glad we had a chance to "talk." We've cleared the air and all is well.

I'm glad you're back though...and you might not want to visit my journal...it's been a little "depressing" in my life lately!!!  (ROFL....that is a JOKE!!!  Of course you are always welcome!)

((hugs))

Nice to see an entry.

Wow I missed a lot... I didn't know you were "leaving" ;-)~ , but glad you're back. I use to read so many journals myself and now I'm lucky to get around or even write an entry myself... just terrible. Glad to hear you got some days to yourself we all need to do that every once in awhile. Wow they don't do baby showers in the UK? Hmmm.. I just assumed everybody does that. Guess Americans are the only greedy ones that want everyone to buy them stuff LOL. Glad the party went well and that was nice of you to help out. Roast is such a wonderful comfort food and get for Sundays. We haven't had rain, but we've had ice... yuck. Can't wait to see the pictures. I bet the puppy is a cutie and I wanna see the tattoo. I don't ever want a tattoo, but I love to see what other people pick. Glad to hear the new job is going well too. That's always a good thing. I can sympathize with son I had to have mine replaced so many times that they said no more insurance for you. (Really) Glad hubby is better. Illness is going around here like crazy and I don't want any of it. Hope you have a great day.
Take care, Chrissie

do you like Amanda, the rocker nurse? I love that girl! Plus, i love Michael too. The dreadlock boy looks just like John Travolta. I bet that roast is going to taste divine. I think getting a tattoo of the dog is a great idea. Buddy was so fat though that if i got a tattoo, it would have to be damn big.

love you

I'm glad your back. We think alike cause I took out a roast to make also for today, lol. Gonna have mashed taters and gravy, salad and peas with it. It feels so good to be home again and read journals of my friends. I came home to 560 alerts, and am now down to 258. Slowly getting there, lol. I hope you have a nice sunday. (((((((hugs))))))

You do what you have to for yourself and if that means taking a break then so be it. I totally understand and I'm sorry for the ones who don't.

Yes, the dreadlock boy does have great eyes :) and a great voice...but the Aussie? he's my fav of the male singers... when he sang Light My Fire by the Doors..didn't you almost see the spirit of Jim Morrison for a minute hangin' around, wow.  Hugz*, Teresa

I'm going to a baby shower this afternoon!  It's for 3 babies!  All my younger cousins are popping out babies!!  They don't have baby showers/bridal showers in Portugal either.  Sorry about the drama---I read your entry, and I didn't read into anything different from what you were saying.  Some people just need uncessary drama sometimes.  Take care!  :)  Julie

I am glad your back! I am sorry to hear some where blasting you! That's not right! I got depressed and didn;t feel like blogging around christmas when j-land lost 2 great people! Girl that's where you made your mistake, thinking that something was actually allowed to be about YOU and not them ::eye roll:: everything is about them or they will find a way to turn it all around and make it about them ... "them" being the joy suckers of the world and no one specific of course.  ::g::
Anyway I am so glad you are back from your tiny break and don't let anyone make you feel guilty for that, those of us who have gotten to know you understood where you were coming from and knew you would be back ... I think you enjoy making these journal entries as much as we enjoy reading them.
BTW I don't even want to tell you how many times my son lost, ran over, submerged, froze and dropped his cell phone before we finally wised up and bought the insurance, lol ... good move on your part!

welcome back Lyn....and it because you are "soft hearted"...wanting folks to be happy....is the reason some folks feel they can "bad mouth" you....and it isn't so...it is because you do have a good heart....feelings for others...I for one am glad you are back....and glad to see that "good morning campers" come up on the screen....happy day to ya..God Bless...hugs...Ora

Soooo good to see you back and in fine form!  I missed you!  (((hugs)))  I havde not been to a baby shower over here yet, but that's not to say that people don't have them.  I think baby showers are pretty wonderful things!  I haven't been to one in years.  I had two when I had my first baby but sadly when I had the other four I had always just moved into a new community (army life which I am sure you understand!) and never had any new friends yet to give me one.  We always saw me being pregnant as a sign that we would soon be moving!  I never had anyone to visit me in hospital either!  I used to envy all the other new mothers with all their family and friends popping in and out!  Love your five, and love you!

The bottom line is, it's your Journal, so you can write what you like. If people don't like it, then they can do the other thing and they shouldn't go slagging you off elsewhere. I'm glad I get no readers, that way I can't annoy anyone. LOL!

Glad to see ya back!   I finally started watching American Idol last week and loved it.  My hubby doesn't like watching it until they  hit the top 24.  He says it hurts his ears? lol  Don't know but I'm glad that they are finally there so I can watch it.  Hope your week was a good one!

I have been terrible about stopping by here reg. but in the midst of it I seem to miss all the drama! LOL I've stopped reading A LOT of journals because some are attention seekers to the extreme, some are always negative, etc.

IMO there's nothing wrong with taking a break and if othes don't like it, that's THEIR problem. Some people just simply live for drama for what ever reason, I guess because they're so absolutely miserable with themselves and their own choices.

I hope you have a wonderful day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW I never thought of other countries not having baby or wedding showers!

Anonymous said...

Those are my 2 favorites , too (on Idol)
I am on the "no drama, no trauma" road myself, darlin
cool idea to get a tatt in memory
Did I tell you I dropped my cell in my coffee while I was driving down the road? I kept hearing this awful noise and thinking my car was dying but it was the death throes of my phone!
Love ya

Hi !!!!!!

I missed you. I feel that once in a while we are all allowed to take a break from journals for a while to chill out and break from reading sad news or anything else. I am glad you are back but if you ever need to take a break please feel free to do so. I think it was wrong of people to blast you in other journals I don't think that was a nice thing to do at all. I apologize for those people that did that. You are such a nice person and I am glad you are here at J-Land.

Anywho.....I have NOT been watching any American Idol I hate to say I just haven't been into it this year. I have been watching shows on HBO and on television. All in all things are good. Take care my friend

I am glad you are feeling better....and don't ever apologize for being who you are and speaking what you feel.....I happen to like the person you are......honest.
take care

Oh Lyn, I'm sooo glad you are back.....I feel like high fiving someone!!! <G>
I know how badly those nasty comments hurt you, but I'm glad you were able to throw them off. Look at it this way...it helped "out" some people in J-land that you thought were your friends, and now you know who they truly are. You didn't do anything wrong, it's them that need to say they are sorry for trashing you in journal entries & comments...shame on them, once again!
Congratulations to Rachel for getting a new puppy...I'm so happy for her!! What did she name it? There is nothing like new, warm, puppy kisses to start healing a broken heart, give them both a hug for me.

J-land is brighter today with you back here!

Pooh Hugs,
Linda

Girlfriend... it may NOT have been you that you were reading about, there were ALOT of complaints going around about the journals being written.  Oh well, wanted to say that I'm watching American Idol, too... LOVE IT!!!  My faves SO FAR are Jason Yeager, and Kristy Lee Cooke, and the little philipino girl... CAN NEVER remember her name.... Ramiele or something like that??  Anyway, haven't yet heard enough of them to form a REAL opinion.  Glad you are watching, so we can keep up together.

It's good to see you back.  I have to take a break now and then as well.  I'm so glad your daughter got a new boxer puppy.  That should keep her busy, and though I know she won't forget Ali, at least it may keep her mind off missing him too much -- make it a little easier to bear.  I hope you are having a great week.

I had to laugh at the cell phone insurance comment - I've had to replace 2 cell phones - water logged ones for one son too - although sometimes if you put the cell phone in a coat pocket  and run it in the dryer for an hour (battery out) they come back to life lol. and it works for Ipods too!

I missed out on the drama - which is good.  I for one completely understand the need to take a break from time to time.  I'm also the kind who wants to fix, mend and heal.  When I can't I start to hurt and need to step back a moment or two or more!

I haven't seen American Idol yet this season.  I'll have to try and catch some of it.  I've heard talk fo the dreadlock kid - can't remember what I've been hearing.  I do remember  hearing the Aussie was really awesome.  I remember that one because someone used that "Awesome Aussie".  It stuck and now I want to hear him .. and the dreadlocks kid! :-)

Glad your back!

I am sooo behind on reading journals.  Sorry it took me so long to get here.  I have to say...I don't get it.  I did read some things in JLadn with people saying they were trying to write more positive things.  Well, shoot, don't talk about it "just do it", is what I say!   Lyn, you work, have a childrna and hubby, a house that needs attention.  You deserve a break, and you know when you need it.
I hope as long as you and your family are well, it's good.  Sometimes we just need a mental health break and /or a change.  Mix it up a little, you'll feel better.

There is always drama....LOL  But thank goodness most of my blog buddies don't subscribe to it.  LOL  We seem to get along just fine....Some thrive on it though and it's their world.  I usually don't read those blogs....I tend to shrink away from that as it only creates missery and dissention.

I am glad you didn't leave.  I know how hurtful comments can be.  I am an American Idol addict since the first season.  Never missed it.  Did you know the man from the Navy from last season who was stationed in Jacksonville was my cousing? Phil Stacey.  He finished in the top ten. Our whole family was excited about that.  Have a great week.
