Sunday morning

Good Morning campers!!

How is everyone doing this weekend? Mine has been great so far..the usual Mexican Friday night..yesterday we decided to just head out in the car and see where we ended up..the weather was perfect..sunny and about 70 degrees..we ended up in a quaint little town called Melrose..we had lunch in a deli and then drove back through Waldo..stopped at the flea market and browsed around..came home and read on the deck for an hour then grilled chicken on the barbecue and made some wraps with it..very light and delicious...watch a movie and called it a night..today I am getting the laundry done and then I plan on doing some tidying up in the garden...it's supposed to be nice weather again...tomorrow starts my new schedule..I am back on the front desk tomorrow and then in the clinic Tuesday..hope I remember to go in..haven't worked on a Tuesday in ages... ;-)

As a few of you already know my son was born with a sunken chest..the proper medical term for this is pectus excavatum..click below for the visual..

Until recently it hadn't bothered him but he began saying he couldn't catch his breath..and he was having some discomfort in his chest so we took him to his Dr. who did an EKG and she has now referred him to a cardiologist..we go Thursday...if you are so inclined please keep Ry in your prayers..thanks...I don't talk a whole lot about personal stuff but this has me a bit scared... :-(

nothing much else to report from this end...life is plodding along just fine and that's the way I like it... I hope you all have a great Sunday..to all the football fans who have a team they support in the Super bowl I say party on!!! may the best team win..;-)

Congrats to all who got  "Nice Matters" awards.. I did not get one and for some reason I am tickled pink about it...;-)

Will definitely keep your son in my prayers!!  I read the link you sent, and it looks like it's common enough where the drs know how to handle it well, but I know it can still be scary... but be comforted in that thought.

Take Care,
Joann

HI
Hope all goes well with your son.....by the way I think you are nice lol  Louise xx

LOL on not getting the "nice matters" award AND being tickled pink about it. That is too funny really. You dance to the beat of your own drum and that's why you have a lot of readers, a lot of followers and a lot of people who DO love you. No need to be awarded with a little graphic to show THAT now do ya??? LOL. ;) THAT just proves how UN-superficial you AREN'T!!!!

As for your son, I will definitely be praying. That is super scary. And I really hope surgery will NOT have to be an option. A mother's worse nightmare for sure. So I will definitely be sending up special prayers for Ry.

You have a great Superbowl Sunday!!!
Take care and lots of love and hugs sent your way,
Jen

Well if I knew how to do all these inserts etc., you would have a nice matters award from me!  I hope that your son gets on ok when he sees the specialist and I'll be thinking of him and wishing him all good things.  I know you must be worried but he has got to this age without a lot of problems and that must be encouraging.  Your weekend so far sounds wonderful and it may cheer you up to know that the weather here is bitterly cold and there is no way I am doing a barbie today!  We haven't had any snow yet in Herts and I am hoping it will stay that way.  I am so behind on things here ... 383 alerts, eeek, so will be looking through for your other entries to catch up.  Special Hugs dear friend.  Tells x

P.S. I dont need to see that someone gave you and award to know your nice.

Sounds like a lovely weekend. I will keep Ry in my thoughts, and(as someone wh has open heart surgery 114 years ago and am fine now, I know how far cardiology and surgery for sunken chests have come-he will be fine. Margo

Thanks Lyn for the congrats!  It is nice to be recognized for something positive, and just because you did not get one this go round does not make you a mean person.  To be honest, I think all of us can be a little of both at times, lol. Do I hear an "Amen"?   On a serious note, I am so sorry to hear about your son, Ry.  I will pray for him.  Bless him!  Big hugs your way!

Well, if you didn't get one, you deserved one so have an honorary NICE MATTERS award from me.  I think you must need one, even if you are tickled pink.  Go to my journal and get the award and post it on your about me section.  All the people I know in JLand are super nice people.  I will be praying for your son and hoping that all will be well with him.  I've laundry to do too.  I usually try doing during the week, but got behind this week.  Take good care and don't forget to get your NICE MATTERS award.  'On Ya' - ma

I so wish I could have a lazy day.... maybe on Monday. I just know that Ryan will be fine. Medicine has come so far and they will be able "fix" this. So don't worry.

I think you are VERY nice, at least to me. I do not like things like that where you have to pick a certain #....if you noticed, i did not do it in my J and won't.

I am glad you had a nice day. I hope today is a happy one for you.
love you

Well I wanted to give you a Nice Matters Award and IF I had been smarter when I made that entry I would have just generally gave it to all my readers because I think each and every one of you all are special people. I hate picking.
I hope your son is okay. Let us know after the appointment. Do you think he's just having problems now where he is growing up? Can you have surgery to correct that? I don't know anything about the condition I'm just asking in general.
Take care and Hugs, Chrissie

Mornin'!  Sounds like someone had the perfect Saturday!  Good for you.  Fingers crossed for Ryan at the docs appointment.  You know the marvels of modern medicine now - but as a Mum you also know the heartbreak in seeing your kids not feeling 100%!  Many prayers for your boy.

Good luck with your new roster too.  I am on my last week of sick leave and go back next Monday.  Can't say I miss the place either!!!  Pay checks, well that I miss but I certainly don't miss the chaos and madness of Mondays on the desk!

Have a wonderful week!

I worked with a lady whose son had this condition.  At age 5 he had to have surgery to correct it.  It went very well, and he had a fine, fast recovery.  I certainly hope that your son is doing well and will continue to do well.

Hey Lyn !!!!!!

I am doing well. Thank you for sharing your life with us. I do want to send out my thoughts for a speedy recovery for your son. You might also want to know that I announced your award on my journal so you will be happy to know that you did get a "Nice Matters" Award so CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Hi Lyn!  I'm keeping your son in my thoughts!  I didn't get Ms. Matters award either...and I'm thrilled as well.. LOL...  Take care, and try not to worry too much!  Hugs - Julie

I will most definitely be praying for Ryan.....please let us know how the appointment comes out.
I didn't send my "nice matters" award back out that I received, I just felt uncomfortable chosing some, and leaving others behind, when I consider every J-lander that I read, "nice" and it matters enough that my life has been changed by their kindness to me. So I just asked people reading my journal to pick 5 journals they haven't read before and give them a try.

Your nice weather sounds wonderful....it's soooooo cold, here!!!

Pooh Hugs,
Linda

Ryan is at the top of my prayer list Lyn and I an putting both your names into the Temple as I am quite sure you could use some comfort right now to calm your fears!  ((((Hugs))))  Thanks so much for sharing with us and allowing us to care.  Oh, you do make me jealous when you talk about your Friday Mexican food nights!  What I wouldn't give for a decent Mexican meal that I hadn't cooked myself!  And a non acoholic margarita! Yumm!!!  We used to go to Chi Chi's years ago and loved it and their Chimichangas!
Have a great week and hey, don't forget to go to work tommorrow!
love,
Marie

LOL I knew you and I were meant to be great friends ... I didn't get a nice matters award either (imagine that) but like I told my closest friends, the day I get one of those awards is the day I know it's time to stop journaling because I won't be me any more.  ::vbeg::  Too funny that we felt the same way about that.
