My daughters Boxer got hit by a car and killed..it was her and her boyfriends dog..he lived with her BF..they raised Ali from a puppy..he was only 5 years old..someone at his house left the gate to the back yard open and he ran out in traffic...they took him to the vet but there was nothing they could do because the injuries were to severe.. they are devastated..it broke my heart to see her cry like that...she loved that dog..he was a huge dog and very protective but gentle as a lamb around those he knew..
A little prayer for Rach would be nice..she is hurting a whole lot right now....

Oh Lyn....I'm so, so, so, sorry. Losing a beloved pet is never easy, but I think it's made worse when it comes so suddenly like this. I know the horrible pain that your baby is feeling, it's one that breaks the heart in two, and drains your spirit of all happiness. Tell her to take it one day at a time and not rush her mourning....everyone heals at their own pace. Will you tell her something from me? Tell her that my Molly, who passed away 8 months ago, was a very intuitive girl, she knew what people were feeling and felt it was her job in life to care for and comfort them. Tell her that right now, I know she is with Ali, and she will stay by her side while she is scared and missing her family....Ali is not alone. Then, when she is feelin a bit better, they will be fast friends and run the beautiful fields together, chase balls and eat bones all day :)

Oh Linda, this is such a terrible tragedy! I certainly will be praying for Rach and her boyfriend. I know it is alot like losing a child when one has a pet that is so much a part of the family. How heartbreaking! I will be lighting a candle for the both of them and sending them comforting light!

Lyn I am so sorry for your daughter. I am such a huge animal lover and I know how painful it is to love a furbaby like that. Some people find comfort in getting another puppy or rescue right away, others can't even think of getting another dog for years ... it's such a heart breaking thing to have happen ... and in your daughters case to see her baby in pain ::sigh:: so sad. My heart goes out to her.
