Well now...

Good Morning Campers!

Well now looky here ..guess what I got?? ;-) I swear people I wasn't hinting for an award when I said I was tickled NOT to get one..it was my warped British sense of humour ..but seeing as one of the nicest people in J Land.. Miss Monae gave it to me I will accept with as much grace as this crazy Britchick can muster...  I am not awarding it to anyone  per say because I truly am the only person I know that didn't get one apart from Julie and Stacy and they are fellow bad girls like me and I don't think they really want one...;-) Besides people let's face it we are all NICE in our own way...even me...you would be surprised at just how nice I am..I even do random acts of kindness...I pay it forward...I open doors for old ladies and old men for that matter...I buy Girl scout cookies..I buy things from kids at the door who are trying to get to go on the trip of a lifetime...I give to St Judes research hospital every month... I cry at the drop of a hat..especially hallmark commercials...I cry at Airports when I don't even know the people saying goodbye... I feed all the teenagers in my neighbourhood..I listen to them when they have no one else..I let them cuss and scream and get it out and then I make them go home and hug their Mums...if I love you you will have a friend for life..I am loyal to a fault..I will defend your honour no matter what.. I will stand by you no matter what you do..I will hate the game NEVER the player...these are some of the things that make me "nice" I don't need an award to tell me that... being nice comes from within...

What does "nice" mean to you??

Nice means to me more or less all that you covered in your entry.
Above all it's an ability to think of others and not yourself.
You fit the bill 'nicely'.
Congratulations!

I think you about covered all the NICE possibilities.  Nice is just a way to show people that you do care and even being nice to people that aren't.  They are the once that need it the most.  I hope you get to the beach !  I'll be expecting a report on how NICE it was to be in sunny 80 degree weather.  Take care !

GOOD FOR YOU! See? And you didn't have to make a list of the nice things you DO because just by what you WRITE, I can TELL you are NICE.....and I haven't been reading you that long.

"NICE" isn't what you DO....it's WHO YOU ARE. It's a STATE OF BEING. It comes from inside and it's not just visible to others, it's actually tangible to those around you.

It's a gift. And it's a gift that not many possess.
It's a gift that YOU most definitely have!!!
Hugs to you.

I am glad that you got the award, and it does sound as if you are a good person-but I think "Nice" has been so overused, it hardly means anything anymore! Margo

I am so glad that you got the award! Nice to me means doing the right thing even when you don't want to! I have a quilt story on that subject.

Our very own bad girl got a nice nice award, they really did run out of people to give it to, huh?  There was only you, me and did you say Julie left?  ::vbeg::   I saw a few people who recieved it and to say they were scrapping the bottom of the barrel was an understatement ... so I knew it was only a matter of time before your bad a$$ outter shell would be stripped away and they would see you for the truly nice person you are ... dang it.  ::G::  Ok all kidding aside ... you are the very best kind of "nice" or kind out there, you know why ... because you're real and down to earth and you don't do things for people to pat you on the back and tell you how great you are.  I will never forget you being "just a JLand person" offering up your credit card for a fellow journaler to get much needed emergency dental work ... you are one of a kind lady and I am so glad that I found you and get to call you my friend because you are the real deal and you totally rock lady!  ::G::
Stacy <-- who likes to pretend it's still Christmas, stop kill'n my buzz and yelling about those dam decorations.  ::vbeg::

I love this entry!!  I feel like I know you a little more.  I wish you were here feeding my teen and then you could tell me all the things he says.  LOL.  These are great things to share and I think you are super and am so glad you got the award.  It always feels good to get an award too and you can proudly display it on your journal in your sidebar!!  I got an award a while back for having the longest journal entry ever and am so proud of it even though I know it's a fun silly one.... I do tend to have the gift of gab LOL.  Hugs,
Lisa

This is a good entry!  You are so sweet!  Congrats on the award!

giving instead of receiving, random acts of kindness everyday, making someone else feel good, a compliment isn't so hard to give, having a loving heart towards everyone(hard sometimes), thinking of others first instead of yourself. Sometimes doing something nice without letting the person know it was you (selflessness) Being generous, remembering to say thankyou.

Deb           However....I think we all have the "imp" within that comes out to play when we least expect it. LOL

What does nice mean to Me?

When saying thank you comes easy, to make someone laugh out loud, hold the hand of a friend in need, feed a stray cat even if you know he'll want to take up homestead.....I could go on....but those just some of things that nice means to me.

Lyn,
You are always nice----you always have been to me :)
Nice to me is to put others first before yourself, helping others out without having to be asked first, taking the time to return a letter, email, phone call and such, volunteering and actually loving it (I'm a hospice volunteer) and returning a smile! :)

Good for you Lyn :)

Well, my goodness Lyn . . . nice to me, means "you"!  Seriously.  I am always touched each day by the "nice" people I have discovered on AOL journals and while I am sometimes tempted to dip my pen in other fields and other journaling sites, I could never give up this wonderful community of friends I have found on the AOL journals.  This is my home and I am honored to have "nice" friends on here such as yourself.  It's all true and I mean every word of it!

Welp sorry YOU'RE NICE!!! the way you are nice is special for you. But I so agree with you there are lots of nice people which is why I kinda hate when they pass these things around. I hate picking one person over the other because it makes them feel like less and they're not.
Take care, Chrissie

I stumbled on to your page by looking thru the journals listed on the main page and I am glad I did. I really enjoyed this post. I feel that being nice is a trait that comes from within, things that you do that just come natural because its a part of who you are.  So, Congratulations on your award, and I look forward to reading many more interesting post of yours. I am new at blogging but you can check mine at http://journals.aol.com/chaoticbeauty34/chaoticbeauty/ if you'd like.

It's hard being nice sometime, but someone has to do it right? lol. I think everyone has it in them to be a certain way - some just choose a different route. Congratulation! It's well deserved. Take care and enjoy,
