Good morning campers!
Hope you all had a great weekend..we did go to the beach..got down there in time to go to lunch with my friend and her 2 daughters..we decided to go to Bella's which is an Italian restaurant on the beach...we sit down ..order a pizza pie and are playing the trivial pursuit they have at each table...all of a sudden my friend yells out..I look up thinking she is excited because she knows the answer and see this look of horror on her face..she is looking at the floor..I immediately lift my feet off the floor thinking Snake ..I ask her "what is it?" she whispers a F*^#ing RAT!!!!!! it ran right across the floor in the restaurant....holy freakin moly the only thing I hate worse than snakes are RATS..I am totally hyperventilating..got my feet in the air...shuddering...well we can't stay there now so I go up to the counter and ask for the manager..this 12 year old comes out and says "what's the problem?" I tell her about the RAT..she sighs and tells the cook "they seen another one" I tell her we're out of there and she says to my friend.."um hello this is the beach..they are sand rats and we get them all the time" in a very bored tone..wonder how bored she will be when the health department come by because they will because guess who called and told them yep..me..had to..can't believe they think having a RAT run through the restaurant in the middle of the day is okay...<sigh>
The weather cooperated and I spent a very pleasant afternoon reading on the beach..we went to the famers market and the bookstore too and then out for mexcian and margaritas at night..got up to a HUGE breakfast cooked by friends hubby and then drove home..it was a nice get away and I am glad the weather held up... Saturday night hubby and I went out for dinner as both kids were working and then Sunday was a whirlwind of grocery shopping... laundry..housework rewarded with 2 hours by the pool and a pedicure at the mall.. then I made Lasagna for supper and got my uniforms ready for the week..I worked yesterday on the front desk...it was the usual Monday mayhem.. I am off today but work tomorrow and Thursday as I am filling in for one of the girls who has to go to court to put her babys daddy on child support.... I am so glad I am not young and dumb anymore...:-) just old and crabby...LOL....
I am playing catch up on my alerts...
Y'all have a great week....

just a little bit of horror (the damn rat) in the midst of your wonderful life. I can see you with your legs up screaming. I would scream too if i saw a damn rat at a restaurant. LOVE, lisa jo
Let us know what happened about the rat, if you get to know. Think I would give that restaurant a miss even if they got rid of the rats as they obviously don't know much about food hygiene.
Angie, xx
Good for you reporting that place that thinks its OK to have rats in an eating place ,dont want them anywhere ideally but just as you sit down to eat ,unbelievable ,yukkkk ...love Jan xx
2 hours and a pedicure? That sounds wonderful! And very needed after a weekend at the beach... I know I always need one after frolicking in the sand. :) (For the record, I am pretty sure I have NEVER frolicked in the sand)
Nice of you to fill in at work...I hope it all works out for the young lady who needs child support.
Praying you have a wonderful coming week!
God Bless-
Amanda
P.S. Rats are icky. Good thing the 12 year old is handling the situation. I feel better already.
Ewwwwwww I'd have snapped and been extremely loud.. scare a few customers off.. it's not ok... glad you called! Aaaah days off in the summer are the best. Had a few day trips and been enjoying life. Back to work tomorrow GRRRR

So glad you reported the restaurant! One shudders to think of what else is wrong in that place (hygiene wise) that one doesn't know about!!! Have you ever watched some of those shows where they have hidden cameras in restaurants??? It can scare one to death of eating out in any restaurant! Or of complaining to the chef about anything being wrong with your meal! I know sometimes my boss can be a bit of a beotch, but I'd never spit in her soup! (just dream about it!) ;-)

Lisa
Just stoppin' by to say hi sweetie!!! Glad you had a good weekend. MWAH!
Gross!!!!! I'd call and report it too. I'm glad the weekend was good, otherwise.
Lori
Kudos to you for calling the health department. That is sooo NOT ok!!
xoxo ~Myra
Wish I lived near a beach!! have a good week.
Missie
It sounds as though that establishment not only has a problem adhering to the health codes but I believe there might be something in the child labor laws concerning a 12 year old being left in charge. Besides a rat is a rat no matter if there might be a variation in the species.
You old and crabby? I think not. I would describe you more along the lines of mature and sensible.
Have a lovely day and may the rest of your week be sunny and bright.
Britt
I have the creepy crawly's just thinking about that disgusting rat. I'm glad over all you had a great weekend. Lasagne sounds good, but I'm guessing I may get that as a meal from friends once we're home with our baby girl!!! Have a great day!
Christy
Sounds like a grand time..minus the rat! That would give me a freakin' heart attack! That is sooo disgusting!
Have a great week!
Janis
Rats in a restaurant...Imagine how many times it must happen for them to think that it was normal. EEEEEEWWWW, that is disgusting. Glad you had a good time other than that experience.
June
Rats carry all kinds of diseases. Glad you left and didn't leave it to chance what the food would of carried. Otherwise sounds like a perfect weekend with your friends and family. (Hugs) Indigo
Sounds like a weekend of busyness with alot of fun attached - except for the uninvited quest! Hope you enjoy your week ahead! Have fun and take care,
Katie

Oh yes, I am also glad to be done with that young & dumb thing...old and crabby rocks! So, what did you get at the bookstore? --Cin
So glad you had a nice little get away. You more than deserve it. It sounded like you had a great time (minus the rat fiasco). When I read about you reading a book on the beach I got the most serene mental image, too bad it didn't last, lol.
xoxo, heather
For a 'UK Gal' I sense an american twang even in your text (not sure if it's deliberate or not) Have you picked up the speaking twang too!!!
Reading books on the beach - oh what bliss!!

Rats? oh my god, i cant believe they took it so ligtly!Im catching up too, its Friday, but im reading about tuesday!Have another nice weekend!Beckiex(with no rats)
Oh my gosh,my mom and I are sitting here ROFL at the whole rat thing! Sorry, we just think it'd be pretty interesting on America's Funniest Home Videos. I would've probably done something wicked to the 12 year old who thought having a rat in there as being normal. Wonder if they would've charged you for the extra meat if it had crawled into the oven with your pizza? -Dawn-
OMG~the rat thing would have totally freaked me out!!!
Gillie
OMG.......Unbelievable.......seriously makes you wonder what goes on behind closed doors :o)))
LOL
