Everyone safe and accounted for

Just wanted to let you know that although some areas of the village my family live in (Kidlington Oxford) did indeed flood my immediate family are all okay. The river has gone over the banks though and the fields and cemetary are under water...not my Mums grave yet.....more rain is forecast for the whole week though so please keep my family and everyone elses in your thoughts..

Thanks...

L

This is what I get for what's TOP CHEF all day instead of the news!  Fear not!  I am beginning to build the ark in about 5 minutes and will be pulling up in front of your house in the nick of time.
In the meantime I'll light some candles, since carpentary is not one of special talents...

I'm praying that your family and all those threatened by the terrible flooding be protected and kept safe from the storm.  May our dear Lord bless them.  'On Ya' - ma

Lyn, I can't tell you how bad it is on the news. We have NEVER EVER seen rain on this scale before, its like being in the tropics. When the sun does come out its just steams. We went to a quadruple 40th b/day party last night and its was a BBQ, it pissed down like a monsoon. You know us Brits though, we just danced in it!

Glad to hear your family is ok.  There is such a lot of terrible flooding over here.  MY heart really goes out to the families and villages affected!  It's heartbreaking to watch.  I'm praying for an end to all the rain and for some sun to appear and not just for a few hours, but for days and days!

Read your entry late last night Lyn, glad all your family are safe, how worrying that you're so far away from them, my heart goes out to all those losing so much.  My cousin's garage was three feet under water last Friday while he was at work, he was storing loads of stuff in there while he had builders in, he has lost thousands of pounds worth of football memorabilia, his stamp collection he has had since he was 7 years old (again worth thousands) and has been told he won't get full compensation s it wasn't in the house. I know it's not in the same league as those whose homes have been made uninhabitable but devastating none the less. He's got to have the week off work to sort everything out. I have another cousin living in Kennington near Oxford, I must phone them to see if they are affected. Love, Pat.  http://journals.aol.co.uk/pm71blackfen/ramblings-from-pat/

Thanks for your comment on my Blog about the floods, Friday was a very frightening evening, taking the photos helped me to keep a bit calmer. Its subsiding here now in Worcestershire but they say Oxfordshire is about at the worst now, hope your family are still OK.
