Good Morning Campers!!!!
Hope everyone is doing well this Friday morning....I am doing great..tickets are booked for Sue and Dads flights...they are coming Sept. 15th...please don't anyone tell them that is peak hurricane season here or I will never get them over here!! Just hope and pray with all I have that we don't get major storms while they are here...and that my sister doesn't read this Journal..I don't think she does or she would have said something by now but one never knows...;-)
We had Mexican food and margaritas last night which as you all know is our usual FRIDAY night ritual but we did it last night instead because we are having a little barbecue tonight for the relatives that are in town..let me talk about that for a minute...it is a little complicated so pay attention..;-)
My mother in law died in Dec 1997 in UK..my father in law remarried one of their friends from the past in July 1998 and bought her to the states to live..They actually lied to us about the marriage..they told us they were marrying the following year but I busted them when I was at their house and answered the phone and it was immigration wanting to speak to Mrs Hatfield..as I thought I was the only Mrs Hatfield I said "this is her"..well obviously they were looking for the new Mrs. Hatfield...LOL..busted!! Actually is wasn't funny and all hell broke lose but let me get back to the story...I know the "lady" he married..and her whole family..I went to school with her kids...so now that the two families have "blended" we get to see them when they come over to visit....so hence tonight I will be having my father in law and his wife who I refer to as "the witch" and her son who I went to school with who is now somehow related to me in this complicated mess and his partner who used to be the barmaid at our local pub and their 3 kids over for a barbecue..how I ended up with this lot on my lawn is truly one of those you'd have to see it to believe it stories..they actually live in Ireland..the barmaid is from there originally and they moved back over there years ago....the son is what you call a bit of a hard arse..always in trouble back home and his partner was commonly called the village bike if you get my drift but in the name of family we try to put all this behind us and have a good time...hubby can't stand the new Mrs Hatfield..none of us can to be honest with you but we do what we have to to respect the old man...hubby is also resentful of the "family" who get to come over here and enjoy free holidays round his dads house...so the mere fact that he asked them over here is amazing to me and I for one will be monitoring the consumption of alcohol tonight as I can see the potential for the two hard arses from back in the day having a go at it!!
If you're still reading and even better still following this god love ya!!
Anyway what started this whole thought process is that I have been thinking it was Saturday all morning because we ate Mexican last night...LOL..amazing where the mind wanders eh??
Have a great weekend ....

The village bike... HA HA HA HA... Never heard that expression, abut I like it! Very cute! :) Sometimes alcohol just brings "family" together--it makes people sometimes more tolerable, and they actually make the ugly kinda cute! :) Julie
I'll get the popcorn ready for this one! Hope all goes well and you find that your enjoying your day! I will keep my fingers crossed for perfect weather while your family is here for their visit! Have a happy one!

LOLLL....when we lived at MacDill, we had Jesse's mom come visit in October. We didn't tell her either, 'cause we thought nothing would happen. Boy, buddy, were we wrong. We got evacuated, and she has never expressed an interest to visit Florida again. hee hee hee...
I don't know if I have that complicated of a relative situation, but I DO have somebody I call 'the witch'. Only with a B.

I do that too -- one break from the routine and I get my days mixed up. Enjoy your real Saturday!
Russ
Well seeing as its saturday now my comment is a tad bit out dated. I am so glad you are getting to see your Dad and sis very soon i will pray the weather is good to you all. And i hope all went well last night lol rather you than me, it would be fizzy pop and water for the hard arses and something rather nasty for the witch lol. Hope you have a relaxing weekend
love and hugs
Katie
I can't tell you how many times i forget what day it is but now i know i can do it on pupose by eating mexican LOL
hugs, Marina
Many prayers that your dad and sis have a safe journey over here.....with NO hurricanes :)
Blended families can be so difficult and especially in the situation you are in. Just keep plenty of margarita mix on hand and you will do fine :)
Hugs,
Gretchen
Now as of this reading , it is Saturday(winks) So here's hoping the hard asses where on their best behavior and everyone had a grand time last night! You have quite the blended family their dear heart, gotta love em. Wonderful news having a date for your dad and sisters arrival. (Hugs) Indigo
Glad Sue and your Dad's tickets are booked ~ we won't mention the hurricane season to them :o) ~ hope the BBQ went well OMG that was complicated ~ but I think I got to understand it all ~ just admire you for having them round yours at all ~ Ally x
irish, ! oh no youve had it ! Beckiexx ps im a little irish myself, i think so im not hating the irish, even if they are all pikeys.
Love it Lynn, I would like to be there to see the bbq. What a strange situation, that must have been awful for your husband to find his dad married again so soon. We have had a lot of that in my family, so I know what it feels like. Hugs, Terry x
Ohh, juicy! Can't wait to hear how it goes. Hope it's a happy ending.
Kathy
I thought this story was so funny and I can just imagine you busting new stepmom out. The cookout/BBQ must have some story about it. Please write every loving detail. And 'the village bike' had me laughing out loud really, not just a IM thing to say. I paused to think about it, since it's not a common American term, and in one second I got it! Access to everyone, they've all had a ride...etc... Good entry, this one. I seriously do hope that no one actually fist fights though.

God you're living my children's lives in the future. Their Dad has a Bimbo right now and her kids come to the house and do everything... my kids get to sit in the background IF they are even invited. Bimbo believes her children are the only children.. mine don't exist. I could never imagine my children inviting her or her kids over to any cookout.
Take care, Chrissie
I'm reading lol not so sure I follow. Yep, can't believe they lied about the marriage thing, but hope it all goes well. I know you can't wait to see your family in Sept. how exciting.
Don't you just loooooooove family situations? LOL
