I'm back!!

Good morning campers!!

Hope everyone behaved themselves while I was gone....  Rumour has it Ellen threw a party in my Journal but she managed to hide most of the evidence... ;-)

The beach was awesome..it was HOT but as always there was an incredible breeze down by the ocean... I got down there about 11 am Friday morning..two of the ladies were already there...we unpacked and then headed to the grocery store to pick up supplies..came back and I headed down to the beach with my book and the others stayed up at the house... a couple of hours later they joined me on the beach for a little bit then we headed up for our first cocktails...the other ladies started to trickle in after work...we spent the evening hanging out on the front porch watching all the sights..and believe me there were plenty..we had a midnight stroll on the beach where we witnessed the police busting some under age teenage drinkers....then we all crashed...Saturday morning some of us were feeling a little worse for the wear...but after a huge breakfast and a walk on the beach we were all good to go..I spent the day reading...snoozing and splashing around in the surf...I talked 2 of the other girls to come out past our knees to cool off and of course we got wiped out by a big wave...I lost the bottoms to my bathing suit and scraped up my knees on the sand..we laughed and laughed at the sight of the 3 of us trying to maintain our dignity....but between you and me I think my life flashed before my eyes as I was being tossed around under water....Saturday night we got gussied up and went to the irish pub for a couple of pints..we watched the Jacksonville Jaguars kick butt on one TV and David Beckham lose on the other....we ate scotch eggs and drank cider...yum! Sunday we spent the morning on the beach and then cleaned up the house and headed home..I of course got confused and headed in the completely wrong direction...95 north instead of south and ended up in a less than desirable part of town..in my bikini and cut offs too..there was no way I was stopping and asking for directions dressed like that.. let's just say they would have thought I was walking the beat....but after a few intense minutes I found my way back to the interstate and heading in the right direction...phew! came home and started the laundry and took a little nap on the couch...yesterday it was back to reality...especially for Ryan who has been out for the summer since may 22..yes they had an extremely long summer break this year...he enjoyed his first day..he is taking Auto shop so he is happy about that...today he had to take in 2 toothbrushes to one of his classes for extra credit...seemed odd to me but hey I had some so he took them...;-)  In his Marine Biology class they get to go to Sea World and swim with the Manatees in the spring....how cool is that?

So folks I am back and way way way behind on alerts..I had over 300 in my inbox so I am just going to delete and start over...please let me know if I missed anything I need to know....or anything particularly juicy...<looks at Gaz>

You won't believe this but I took NO pics!!! my camera was dead and I have one of those Kodak easy shares that you put on the docking base to charge and the damn thing wouldn't charge...no lights came on...so I stopped at 2 places on my way down and they didn't have them so I think I have to order online from Kodak...grrrrrrrr... so I will have to wait till the other ladies send me some pics which they have promised to do.....

it's nice to be back..I missed you guys.... ;-)

L

PS Please keep my FIL in your prayers..he is home but his prognosis is not so good..the biopsy came back as "pre cancerous" and they want the mass out of his neck "yesterday" it is the size of a golf ball and growing and effecting his voice...BUT the surgery is very dangerous because of where it is located...my FIL is very frail and depressed and we are all just heavy hearted....thanks....

You should never believe rumors!!!  (kicking the empty beer bottle under my desk) I'm so glad you had a good time. I would love to do something like that someday. Just the girls, no boys around to spoil the fun.
Glad your back, these J-landers are a wild bunch when you set them free  in someone's blog!

Oh my...I will of course pray for your FIL!  How awful that he is suffering.  I will pray the doctors make his as healthy as can be and that he finds joy in being alive... or that he just finds joy...

Glad you had fun!!!  Sounds like a wonderful way to spend some time.  Don't worry about getting to my journal..it's LOTS of reading, and I will be around for a while, so there is NO RUSH and NO REQUIREMENTS!  All in fun pretty lady!

God Bless-
Amanda
P.S.  I would have paid good money to see your face when you lost your bottoms in the wave....lol

Your FIL is in my prayers!  Oh how I could go for one of those weekends like you just had!  I have spent many a time being spun around under water at Daytona Beach.  I just loved tht split-second decision of weather a wave was a "floater" or one to dive under!  Miss that much!

Love,
Susie

First, prayers for your FIL!!!!  And wow it sounds like a wonderful getaway!!!  GLAD you recovered the swimsuit bottoms in the ocean!!!  Yes those waves can be powerful and amazing.... sounds like so much fun though!!!  And that is great about son doing well with the auto mechanics.  That swimming with the manatees I really wish we'd been able to do while we were there but it just never seemed to work out.  Maybe on one of our vacations when we go back down there.  And ya know it is so wonderfully tropical we will want to go again and see our friends.  Plus now we actually know our way around down there enough to get lost on 95 right along with ya.  LOL.   So it's back to the laundry eh?  This is why we never go anywhere... they never help me with the laundry when I get back.  LOL.  Hugs,
Lisa

Welcome back sweetie.  Glad you had a nice time but I am a bit like you for going the wrong way ... it all gets very confusing with n, s, w and e  ... how are we supposed to know what direction without name places!  Lovely for your boy to be able to swim with the manatees.  I had never heard of them before I went to Seaworld and I thought they were fascinating.  I am sorry to hear about your father in law, I hope he gets his op quickly.  Hugs, Terry x
