Good Morning Campers!
After bragging about our beautiful Florida weather it has turned chilly again..sorry Vicky..I told you to bring shorts to Disney... :-( Now you know I love the cold weather so I am not really complaining...although I hate to hide my pretty toe job in socks... LOL
Work was crazy yesterday..we saw 51 patients..a lot of colds and sinusitis going around.. I was trying to be diligent with my hand washing etc.. I don't want this crap back again.. I am still coughing from Christmas....it was the first time our waiting room has ever been full! It was fun..busy but fun...we are still trying to get into some sort of routine with all these new folks.. the new office manager is okay BUT I can for see some issues...I shan't bore you all with work stuff but just remember I predicted this when all hell breaks loose...
We are getting estimates this week for new windows.. I am so excited.. ours are so old..half of them don't open properly..and they are not airtight.. I want double insulated windows with screens so I can air this house out.. for my fellow Brits the windows over here all have screens over them to keep the bugs out..my kids had a fit in Uk because of all the flies coming in the open windows...LOL...anyone know anything about windows? At least hubby will be here when we get the estimates.. I always feel they try to "snow" over the women...we have 18 windows to have installed...gulp...
I am planning on doing some heavy duty cleaning here today.. it's too cold to be outside..and I haven't got Christmas shopping as an excuse to go to the mall ;-) so I thought I would be productive and give the house a good going over...

(laughs) Adam was very impressed that I knew that the Gators were playing Ohio State, he was all: "how'd you now that"? lol! he's funny. But i'm glad that Florida won. Do you find you get all patriotic about it?
I guess this is the time of year that people start getting sick, Adam's got himself a sore throat and i'm sure that in not time i'll spiral outta control to full on sickness. But he couldn't tell you the last time he went to the dr, he doesn't have medical cover and its so different to how it is over here.
Hoping you dont get jipped when you get a quote for your windows.

No screens in the UK? What is up with that? It's not hard to install. 18 is a lot. We have a smaller house so I think we only have 12. But someone else took the hit when they renovated this house. We have all new windows, tilt in to clean and everything. Love them.

Lol..I've never heard of screens up at the windows...how bizzare, but in saying that, it would come in handy in the summer, 'cos we get midges and flies all over the place! lol!!

There's so many colds, flu's and other stuff going around lately. So far, I've managed to avoid most of them (I had a cold), so I'm doing well..lol!

Go Gators!!! Im glad they won too. Windows are expensive! I remember in my house I built 1 window was almost $2500!! Gulp is right! Have fun cleaning, I need to do the same thing.

The window thing is interesting, in Portland the older houses don't have screen's either (the kind where they slide up with several panes in ea. window) if you rented a older apartment you bought these special screens that you put in each time you opened the windows if you wanted. In Florida though, there's aLOT more insects there lol and BIGGER ones. Teresa

All I can say about windows, is shop around!! We had 8 windows replaced this summer, double paned, E5 coating (?). The first quote came in at almost $9K, each window would take 2 days to install!! We got a second estimate, $3K, all installed in one day!! I love our new windows, makes the house look nicer, polished, and now I can actually open the windows to air it out!! Take care...

wow 51 patients! Take some lysol with you when you go back and spray a protective circle around yourself :) I hope your cough goes away soon.
This weather is just plain crazy. Cold here for the next few days then back in the high 70s. It was cold enough, well cold for me, that I built a small fire in the fireplace, first one this year, and Justin and I enjoyed it this morning :)

It's really hard to stay healthy this time of year with all the cold and flu germs floating around, not to mention this crazy weather, although being in America your's is probably alot different than ours! Take care of yourself! I find that washing my hands more often helps! Can you get that stuff over there by Vicks called "First Defence"? That stuff works really well. It really does help keep cold germs at bay! At least it does for me!

I can relate to the job stress....all those patients have to go to a lab and that's where I come in- our work load has double due to an insurance change.
We have all Anderson windows here...

Hmm...when you get the quote for you new windows, find out if they have any self cleaning ones!!! I hate that job and would gladly pay more if they cleaned themselves!!LOL!!! I know what you mean about screens on windows. I remember when we first came to Oz, we thought all the windows were really dirty - we didn't realised they were all covered with screens!!!! But, I wouldn't have it any other way now!! Who wants creepy crawlies inside??!!!
