TGIF.. lookalikes and weather....

Good Morning Campers!

How is everyone this morning? I hope all our UK friends are safe this morning after the terrible hurricane force winds over there yesterday. We sure are seeing some strange weather around the world.I just saw a special on the weather channel over here about the terrible flash flood a couple of years ago in Bosworth on the coast in UK.. I couldn't believe it! I remember my dad telling me about it though. the weather here in Florida this morning is pretty chilly 49F or 9c for Phil ;-)

A random thought here..I know you all read about the tragic death of that lady Jennifer from drinking too much water trying to win an X box for her kids..well did you happen to notice how much she looks like the mother of the boy that has been missing for 4 years that was just reunited with his parents? uncanny...

Shawn Hornbeck, Pam Akers

I just booked tickets to go see the Celtic Women...I love their magical voices.. I am so excited.. it's on the 17th of Feb. So it can be our valentines day treat. Every time I see them on TV I am mesmerized..and they bring me to tears when they sing Danny Boy..which was one of the songs at my Mums funeral.

Can't  believe it's the weekend again already..it's my FIL's 75th birthday on Sunday so we are taking him out for dinner sat. night if he is up to it..he has bronchitis..bless him. I am going to St Augustine tomorrow with Jen and her friends from Tallahassee..this is the trip that was cancelled before Christmas..should be a fun day out...

I did rest yesterday..in between catching up on the laundry and cleaning the house..today I am going to the base to do a big grocery shop.. I don't go on base too much...it's always a bit crowded and about 10 miles from here but the prices are worth it. I usually do a big shop there once a month and then run to the local store in between.

Well I'd best be getting off here or I will never make it..I am all caught up on my alerts but I keep getting that little "ding"... you know the one I'm talking about..the one we all miss so much when it's not there... ;-)

Have a great weekend everyone...

L

my five...

1. It's the weekend and I have plans...

2.. Laundry and house back in order...

3... The trains whistle in the background..love that sound....

4.... magazines...nothing I like more than getting my new ones each month...

5.....I feel almost normal..whatever that is...;-)

So sad about the lady that drank all that water and died...so sad.  Happy for the family with the reunion with son after 4 years away...yes, the women do favor.
I love the music of the Celtic Women...your right, they have magical voices.  Hope you have a lovely weekend.

All this crazy weather we have been having all over the world is kinda scary.  What's happening in Antartica with the global warming is even scarier.  I think it's just another sign of the latter days.  I suppose if we have our lives in order we don't really have anything to be afraid of.  I hate it that people have to suffer though.  Over 12 people lost their lives yesterday in these terrible wind storms!   Thank God the winds have abated today!  It's bright and sunny here, cooler, but very calm.  Lucky you to get to see Celtic Women.  Danny Boy is a real favourite of mine as well.  Have a great weekend!

Hi Lyn, Yeah the weather was bad here yesterday. It took me 5 hours to get home, all my lovely tropical palms in my pots were trashed when I got home, I hope they can be saved. Yes, we do have tropical plants here now, on account of globla warming in case you were like huh? LOLOLOL ;-)

Thanks for dropping by my journal and commenting.  I love new friends and readers. I was looking at your sidebar...My daughter was in the Navy for 4 years.  She was on the USS Lincoln.  All 3 of my kids (boy, girl, boy) were in  the military. The boys spent 6 years in. I am the biggest (caffeine free) Diet Coke addict in the WORLD.  Because of the heavy snow forecast (what snow??) there was panic in the city.  We had to go to 4 different stores to find ANY of my coke!!! My husband said it's my "crack".  LOL Where do you live in FL? I've been there several times-of course to do the Disney thing.  Oh, and Daytona. I LOVE the beach and unfortunately we live up in the southern Panhandle & we're pretty much landlocked.  And you're right about the crazy weather ...all over the world!!
IT IS uncanny home much that poor woman who died and that poor child's mother look alike.  Before I read your entry I saw the photo & thought it was the same person!!
Sorry this is long.I didn't mean to make this an entry.  LOL I hope you will stop by again!

those winds were prett fierce, some major damage has been done and around 14 people killed. I can't believe it. Such strange weather we're having. Can't wait to escape and go to FL, i'm gonna be so happy when you go and see the Celtic Women because a few days later i'll be in Florida! YAY! lol!

I hope you have a wonderful time in St Augustine, Adam and I are hoping to go but it really depends on what his work schedule is like at the moment. So its a great huge, we'll see. But even if we don't, I love visiting the beaches in Fernandina and hopefully we'll go camping on Little Talbot Island. So i'm sure we'll have lot's of fun. And we'll get to have a late valentines celebration, have you ever heard of The DownUnder Resturant? Its under a bridge. But that's where we'll go. So i'll have an action packed next month.

I haven't really bought a magazine in a while. Every time I do I feel guilty. Not sure why, but I do. Still, its nice to indulge once in a while.

I have finally come to visit your journal after reading your comments in my journal for months now!  :-D  First thing I notice is that you're a Navy wife living in Florida close to base- JUST LIKE MY SISTER!  Her husband just joined the Navy last year and was recently stationed in Jacksonville.  :-)
I love your journal.  I will be back.  :-D

my alerts are really messed up.

I hope your FIL wants to go out and you all have a nice time. Sounds like you have some fun coming up...enjoy yourself. Those two ladies do look alike but Shawn's mom looks like death warmed over. You can tell she grieved herself half to death.

When I reading about the woman who drank all that water and died, I kept looking at her picture and trying to figure out WHY she looked so familiar.  I used to live near Sacramento ... so, it was a possibilty.  Yet, nothing rang any bells.  Now that you show the two women together, I think that's where my mind was making a connection - or attempting to.  The mother of the boy was missing looks like she had a harder life, and I imagine what aged her the most was worry over her son.
Hope you have a great time and that your FIL gets out to celebrate.

I am always amazed by the people of this country.  Hurricane winds and everything went on as usual.  There were children riding their bikes to school, people just got on with it.  I am just so very, very humbled by their "Just get on with it"  attitude.  I understand more and more how these people have become a super power although a small island nation.  What an honour to live here!
