Good Morning Campers!!!!

How is everyone? I just spent a pleasant few minutes browsing through J Land ..checking out a few new journals..catching up on some others...got me to thinking about how much I used to write and how much I enjoyed it...I realize I miss it... So I decided to just sit here and start writing and see what happens..so here we go...

Gotta say it's been a funny old year for me all round...I have been in a bit of a rut..down in the dumps..okay a mopey old cow truth be told!! BUT I have been taking steps to correct the situation...I have started exercising again regularly...got me one of those Tony Little Gazelles..you know Tony right?? hyper active loud obnoxious sales guys.."you can do it" is his line..think Billy May for exercising!! Anyway I set the thing up in the Florida room and walk/run for 20 minutes each morning as I watch the news...it does make a difference in the way I feel and is more convenient than driving to the gym...also the machine cost me less than one monthly payment to the gym...shocking really...here is a link to Tony's gazelle so you can see what it is I am talking about...

Click here: Tony Little - Detail

I bought mine used at the Play it Again sports shop next to where I work..it's a place that sells used sports equipment..I only paid $60...

Enough about that..I am also getting out and about more..accepting invitations to things and generally putting myself back "out' there..those of you who have read me for a while know that I have been down this road before and I am sure it has a lot to do with my hormones and my age but there are other deeper issues that I don't talk about in this journal that explain a lot of why I feel the way I do...while I am not ready to talk publicly about what is going on in my life I will say those issues are being addressed too and I have hope...;-)

Things at home have been there usual crazy selves..we have to get  new pool liner to the tune of $$$$3000..my dryer quit.. it can't be fixed..need a new one $$$ .. I have been going to the laundromat..very interesting place I have to say....makes for some good people watching...LOL.. True Beauty borrowed her dads truck and got a huge nail in the tire and that needs replacing more $$$$$...we are sitting here waiting to see what the latest round of storms are going to do..we have Hanna..Ike and Josephine to contend with....does anyone else think it's weird that we name these storms because I do!!  And we all sit around chatting about them like they are old friends...bizarre..LOL

Hubby has been gone for 3 months already and we are more than half way through this deployment..his tentative date to return home is December 11th... so at least he will be home in time for Christmas...did I just say the "C" word?? yikes...it will here before we know it....which means Fall first..or Autumn as I like to call it..my favourite time of year... I will have to change the colours in here soon...

Okay I have rattled on long enough...before I go here is my list of five good things..haven't done that in a while either..

1. Feeling like my old self...

2.. that I have the funds for the pool liner...

3... new friends and reconnecting with old ones..

4.... good books

5..... All of you as always...

I'm glad you are doing better.  I know what it is like to be in the dumps.  Picking yourself up isn't easy, but it must be done.  No one likes living like that.  I know I work at it often...picking myself up that is.  When you have a home or drive a vehicle there is always $$$ to spend.  It's a way of life but never ceases to surprise and dismay us.  Hope your day is a great one !  'On Ya' - ma

Its so great to see you back here.  Can you send some of your "get up and go" with me?  I have been in a sort of slump myself.

Lyn, it was lovely to read an entry from you today. It's good to know you're getting back to where you want to be, I'm sure the exercising is helping, that machine looks the bizz!

Sorry to hear though that you have to part with so many $$$ so near to Christmas...there, I said the C word too!   Love, Pat    http://journals.aol.co.uk/pm71blackfen/ramblings-from-pat/

Good Morning to you Lyn.....my dryer's heating element went out & I need to get that replaced, but don't have to rush as I have been hanging clothes outside.

Sounds like you are doing ok....and I am glad.

Have a great rest of the week.....

Well Good Morning you mopey old cow ( joke)....... somehow i don't see you as that Lyn..... you always see to give the impression that you are a bubbly, fun person..... thats me being sincere here.... not grovelling.
Must check out this machine that you have got .....sounds much more practical to do it in your own home and such a bargain.
Sorry to hear that you are having to pay out so much at the moment.
Please dont mention the dreaded 'C' word again......lol i HATE it..... yes i know i am a party pooper. I wish they would have it every leap year would be so much better...give you time to save up and have a great time. Its much too commercialised these days.

Stay safe in the hurricanes.

WOW....I cannot believe that three months have gone already......time certaily flies these days.
Have a great day

I'm glad to see a post from you. Sounds like you're doing well. The daily exercise alone will make such a difference.

It seems so funny that you are talking about going into Autumn when I am so excited that Spring has sprung here!  A few more weeks and we will be getting some beautiful warm spring weather, I'm certain!  A few more weeks and I will be in Phuket so I know it will be warm there!!!  YAY!!!!

Anyway, good to hear from you and glad that things are starting to look up for you.  Take good care of you.

I, too, am trying to put myself out there more.  it has been HARD for me.  extremely so.  but one does need more than just work for getting out of the house...

I'm so glad you're feeling more like yourself.  I have always thought it was weird that we name the storms too.  I'll be praying that over the next few storms, you and your family are safe.

I admit that Tony Little grates on my nerves, but I've considered buying a gazelle. Glad to know it's a good product!  I think if I had it here in the house I would be more inclined to exercise.
So good to get an entry from you!
Love ya,
Connie

Hey girlfriend!!  So you went MIA too?  I hear ya about missing journaling ... I used to love it so much ... but for some reason it is so hard to get back in the swing of things.  I'm with you and ready to give it another try because I miss the people and the therapy of just getting things out of my head and "onto paper".
Thank you for the notes and comments you sent while I was gone letting me know that you were thinking about me, I really appreciate it.
I'm looking forward to reading your journal and your comments!

Hi Lyn, Glad to hear you're getting back to your old self, I've missed your entries.

We all have things we don't want to write about here and when they dominate your life as they sometimes will, it's hard to see a point to the writing.

I hope your new get up and go stays with you and pulls you out of the doldrums.

Very "Florida" thing to be glad you have money for a new pool liner in September :-).  I'm glad the exercise & the getting out more is helping, along with whatever else you are doing to come out on the upside.

I'm glad half of the deployment is over with.  All down hill from here.  Billy Mays is loud and obnoxious . . . can't stand any of his commercials and change the channel when one comes on.  Have a good Friday.

Are you talking about the irritating Billy Mays guy that advertises every crazy quirky product and loudly to boot!  Never heard of him.  LOL  I hope nothing bad happens with the storm.  Will keep you in my prayers.  Have a good safe Friday.  Luv ya!

well, I wonder if it's just this year in general, I have been very down this year too, but then menopause hit this year as well, and yeah lots of personal and physical stuff, so I am empathizing with you all the way.  Sorry to hear about the pool liner, nothing comes cheap any more, and if something breaks, its always big bucks. But seriously, I am glad you are getting help, and feeling better.  I must get in the swing again and start walking, I quit because I'm always having hot flashes, and I hate to sweat, aw well, your in my thoughts.  Deb

Lovely to hear from you Lyn, as always!  It's been a really crappy year here weatherwise.  I am so tired of rain, and I can well imagine how it must feel with all those hurricanes to contend with.  Ugh!  Sounds like you are doing well though, and keeping busy as always.  I have missed your visits.  I always looking so forward to them.  Let's hope you start posting a little more frequently!

I think they should name hurricanes after people who you have been shit on or dumped by.
I hope ALL your issues are addressed and things get better for you. I have seen that infomercial for the thingie you are exercising with. Glad to hear Lester will be with you on Christmas day! XO

Hello Luv! I am so glad you are getting abck to your old self, I can tell it in your writing. It's that funny time of the year. I laughed at the bit where you sit chatting about the storms. Ok so we don't have hurricanes in our part of the world, well, not often, but rain???? FKN Hell, i ain't seen rain like it before in old lighty this year. Rain drops the size of marbles! It's pissed down all summer, so I've just got two frights to whizz over to Spain in October.
And................. you knw where I am if you ned to chat.
Love yas, Gaz xxxxxx

Those gazelle things look like fun too

Anonymous said...

I would love to have a gazelle, if I just had room for it!  But there is absolutely no reason why I can't get my butt outside to walk regularly.  This was a nice entry.  I'm so sorry about your pool line, your dryer, and the tire on the truck.  It never rains, but it pours, doesn't it?  I need a new tire on my car -- it keeps losing air.
