Good morning Campers!!!!!
It has been a whirlwind few days...let me recap...Wednesday was our thanksgiving feast at work..it was nice..I did not over do it as I knew we would be eating a LOT the next day...thanksgiving was nice at our house..I was cooking all morning and it was gone in less than 15 minutes..sound familiar? I was gutted to find out my camera was dead..so no pics..dammit...we had Ham..Cauliflower Cheese..hash brown casserole..rice and beans...deviled eggs..green bean casserole...rolls..pumpkin pie..apple Pie and my FIL's wife made a trifle...Friday I was out the door by 5am and into the madness! I have to say how impressed I was by walmart..they had things way more organized this year..a lot more staff and a bigger inventory...we shopped all day ..had lunch at Chili's ..it was a really really nice day and I managed to put a huge dent in my Christmas shopping...I only have a few little things left to buy now...as you know the boys put up the outside lights while I was out..they did a very patriotic theme this year..red white and blue...it looks gorgeous...Saturday was Christmas decorations day...away went all the fall decorations and out came the Christmas ones...both trees are up now and the house looks so cozy and festive...Saturday evening we went to a new Mexican restaurant with our friends..the food was not up to par..shame really...but we wanted to give them a shot..they failed...LOL..yesterday I cleaned house and did laundry and wrote my Christmas cards...today is the only day I am working this week as we are off to San Diego on Thursday for my BIL's 5oth birthday party...it is also my hubby's bday on Sunday...we have a busy schedule while there..casino first night.. bday party 2nd night and benihannas Saturday night ...home Sunday..I am a little upset that we had to cut our trip short by one day but that's the military for ya..they OWN you...tomorrow I have Ryan's IEP meeting at school and Wednesday I will be packing as we leave at 5am thursday...it's a busy old life these days but it's all good...;-)
The latest drama in J Land has knocked me for a loop..if you don't know what I am talking about consider yourself blessed...all I can say is that I will be forever grateful that I trusted my gut instincts or I could have very well been front and central in this mess... I am also grateful to new friends that trusted me enough to make me aware of the situation..a cry for help is entirely different from crying wolf....I have no time for that..NONE...been there done that and have the scars to prove it...

So I'm all caught up in your blog (I think!lol) I read too many and get behind! I've been working on cutting some out that simply have lost my interest or are well boring to me! Glad you got almost all your shopping done. I don't have mine even almost done, well my boys are pretty well done other than some stocking stuffers, still in the process of finding a few more things that Emma might enjoy (aka chewing on! LOL). I do have my maternal grandparents, a gift for my best friend, and a couple others bought for (got them this weekend)...just waiting on payday and next Thursday we're going to Nurnburg's Christmas market and we'll finish!!!

Sounds like you had fun and drama is the watch word around here. I just got the tail end of what was going on and I'm not entirely clear on that myself. I could care less. Hmm ... Online drama period is childish... I had sum drama in my journal not to long ago lol but I did my deleting and blocking and it's all good now lol I had just made this journal not to long ago.. Man! I am so in awe of you! Getting up at 5am to hit the sales the day after Thanksgiving is insane - that must be what draws me to you!!!...lol...Sound exactly like something I would do too!
Now, task number one is to fix your camera and get us some pics of your tree and lights - OK! Then take said camera with you on your trip - you know I travel the world vicariously through my J-land friends...lol!
Glad you were able to dodge the bullets from the recent drama - I was worried for you as you are so close!

Well, you know how I feel about drama. I'm here if you need or want to chat. I do whatever it takes to avoid drama now especially in the last two years. I think you must really have to love shopping to venture out on Black Friday! You are a better woman than I am!!! I can't stand crowds! Sounds like you had a lovely feast for Thanksgiving dinner! Wow. I can remember the pictures of your Christmas Decorations from last year and they were lovely. I rreally need to get cracking. Just not alot of time here until the big boss actually goes away for christmas. You think the military owns you??? Try working for this rich power hungry woman I work for. She really tries to suck all the life out of us that she can when she is in residence. It's ok though coz I really do enjoy my job and I love where I live so it's all good. :-) (Could use some more spare time though!!)

I do enjoy reading your journal! You're English but in many ways so American (for all I know about being American, that is!!). I must be leading a very shelteed J/land life as I haven't a clue about dramas in J/land. I'll just take your lead and be grateful!

P.S. Did you try any of the suggestions about the cats? Here's one reason why I think Hanover is weird... you NEVER see cats roaming around. OK, that's a slight exaggeration. I've been here almost 5 years and I've seen maybe 5 stray cats. Lots of places have strick dog ordinances... so it's not odd to not see stray dogs but the no cats thing is creepy. Cats share the world with us.
