I HATE that. I saw Christmas stuff in K-mart while shopping for Halloween costumes last month. What is the rush, really?

Merry Christmas, happy New Year!

OMG, hanging them, I can understand, but turning them on NOW, is way too much.  These will be the folks who most likely won't take them down till April/May.  lol

LOL  Reminds me of this song by Gretchen Wilson (2nd verse) it's called "Redneck Woman" .... Hugz, Teresa

http://journals.aol.com/stetsonsfyre/remembering-to-exhale/

Well I ain't never
Been the barbie doll type
No I can't swig that sweet champagne
I'd rather drink beer all night
In a tavern or in a honky tonk
Or on a 4 wheel drive tailgate
I've got posters on my wall of Skynard, Kid and Strait
Some people look down on me
But I don't give a rip
I'll stand barefooted in my own front yard with a baby on my hip

Cause I'm a redneck woman
And I ain't no high class broad
I'm just a product of my raisin'
And I say "hey y'all" and "Yee Haw"
And I keep my Christmas lights on, on my front porch all year long
And I know all the words to every Charlie Daniels song
So here's to all my sisters out there keepin' it country
Let me get a big "Hell Yeah" from the redneck girls like me
Hell Yeah
Hell Yeah

Victoria's Secret
Well their stuff's real nice
Oh but I can buy the same damn thing on a Wal*Mart shelf half price
And still look sexy
Just as sexy
As those models on TV
No I don't need no designer tag to make my man want me
You might think I'm trashy
A little too hard core
But get in my neck of the woods
I'm just the girl next door

i asked Rick to hang ours on the porch at least this weekend or it wont get done this year. We'll see if that happens.

You are right one up all up.It's the same here Lynn.I agree with Jan comment,by the time Christmas comes along you are sick to death of seeing them all.I think many who put theres up early here, have very small children ,who cannot wait.I know my 6yr old Grandaughter has been nagging her mummy now for about two weeks, to put the tCristmas Tree up He-He..Maybe in there tiny  minds, they think Santa will come sooner .Who Knows.LOL!! Take Care God Bless Kath

Geezzzzz!  It's not like we are going to get snow and not be able to get those lights up.  It'll be interesting to see if those people set up a really big display this year.  I love driving around looking at the lights in the neighborhoods....but not this early!

We have actually been pondering putting them up this weekend (but not turning them on) so we are not putting them up in freezing temps or snow. :)  Hubby decided against it. :)  It just didn't seem right to put them up this early.

I'm a kid at heart and absolutely love Christmas. But it's way too early for lights yet. I still believe you should at the very least wait until the weekend after Thanksgiving. (Hugs) Indigo

How sad. We can't even enjoy Fall and the coming of Thanksgiving~Before the Christmas lights and trees go up! My gosh we live in such a microwave world. So depressing. People need to slow down smell the seasons and appreciate each one.

I went to Wal Mart's several nights ago and as soon as you walk in the doors there you see it....a 7 foot tree with white lights!

Sounds like a lot of people are annoyed at how fast people are moving through the seasons.

Well, try and have a wonderful weekend!

Blessings~Donna

Too early for those things.  Tell them to take them down.  Those are the types that leave them up until February or March too.  LOL

I expect to see them after this long weekend....   Have a great one!!

Traditionally I think you're suppose to put up the lights and Christmas stuff after Thanksgiving. Yeah its too soon to be putting up the lights now. People need to slow down and enjoy the fall weather and the Thanksgiving holiday before we jump into Christmas

Anonymous said...

Oh, I do love Christmas, but even I would not put up the lights this early! haha.  I know some people who don't even bother to take them down!

I LOVE Christmas!!!  LOL It's that time.... We even have some fools who put out Xmas lights for Halloween and then they take down the orange and black stuff and leave up the red and white and green and blue lights and just add the Xmas stuff.   Hugs,
