On the mend....

Good morning campers!!

I am happy to report I am on the mend...I was looking back in my archives and I was sick at this time last year too..I usually get sick about once a year so I guess it's good to get it over with in January huh? I just called my office manager and she told me to stay home again today and make sure I am 100% better...I do feel better but only if I take the meds and the meds make me drowsy so I had to make sure I wasn't going to work before I took them...

It's cold and rainy here in Florida..has been bitterly cold the last few days..kinda glad I was cozy here at home....my plan for the day is to snuggle on the couch with a good book or watch mindless daytime TV...;-)

My car is running fine again..I am pissed about it to tell you the truth..all it was was a loose terminal on the battery..but do you think hubby could take 5 minutes and actually look under the hood for me? NO..I took it myself last week to the auto parts store and the guy tested both the battery and the alternator and told me they were fine but that I had a lot of corrosion on my battery and to get a can of coke and pour it over it to clean it off..he also said I must have a "loose' connection..I told hubby this..I did clean it with the coke but I didn't "see" the loose connection..so after my car died at work Monday I got my daughter to come get me and left the car there..hubby and a friend drove over and got the car and fixed the problem in 5 minutes for $4...just irks the shit out of me that he couldn't have done that before and saved me the stress and anxiety I went through driving over the BRIDGE with my car cutting out... <sigh>he is the worlds worst procrastinator..remember the broken pipe? it is still capped off and waiting on him to reconnect the 2 pipes...a 10 minute job at the most.....

Well I feel better after that little vent.....:-)

Time for some things that i am grateful for this morning...

1. feeling better...

2.. working in a Dr's office has it's advantages...

3... Hot tea and toast with marmalade for breakfast...

4.... Good books...reading a great one at the moment..."The www club" by Anita Notaro..it's a chick book set in Ireland and very easy reading....

5..... Finally clearing my alerts.... :-)

Glad you're feeling better.  It's nice of your office manager to "allow" you to be 100% better before returning.  ; )

Yeah, I have one of those procrastinators, too; which, is well documented in my Journal.  tee hee

Blessings,

Cindy

I think that is the best part of having a journal.  You can check back to see what went on.  I was able to tell that Emma had had strep 3 times in 6 months.  I know the dr's office could have told me that but it was easier for me to look it up.
Sorry about your hubby's issue with procrastination.  I have one like that too.  He is always amazed at how quick a job can be once he gets going on it.  It's the getting going that takes forever!

My hubby does the same thing!  Very annoying!   His tire had been flat on his car and who aired it up!!??  ME  Otherwise I know my son would have been late for school because he would have waited till the last minute to do it.   MEN!!  Glad you are feeling better :)

I love Irish authors.I will have to try Anita Notare.  Have you ever read any Marian Keyes? She makes me laugh out loud. I like Maeve Benchley , too. She has great real-seeming characters in her books
I hope you feel better soon.
Having a car cut out on me will send me into a fit!
Oh, God, especially on a bridge!

Glad you are on the MEND!!! And glad you get another day off of work to really take advantage of feeling  better and cathing up on your email and alerts. LOL. Good for you. You deserve it. ESPECIALLY if you only  get sick once a year. With my three kids, I feel like I get sick once a MONTH! And that is no joke.

Hopefully you get to have a nice long weekend off and you go back to work on Monday feeling 100% better and this will all be behind  you. Snuggle up there, stay warm and dry and have a beautiful day!
Hugs,
Jen

Ooh could smack your old man for not sorting your car out .... to leave you maybe at the mercy of that blimming BRIDGE.  I would make him suffer for that.  I am glad you are feeing a bit better and although I can't imagine Florida being cold, glad you are cosy with a nice book and indoors.  My friend is going out to Orlando in the middle of February, I hope the weather will be good for her.  Hugs, Tells x

Glad you're feeling better AND had the day off.  LIFE IS GRAND!  I wouldn't get too mad at hubby, though.  He is a MAN.  What do you expect?  ;)
So what is "bitterly cold" weather in Florida?  We got three inches of snow today.
Hope they give you tomorrow off for good measure!

MJ

Hi !!!!!!

I am glad to hear that you are on the mend. I haven't gotten sick this time I think because I went and got my flu shot that it helped. I usually get sick in the Wintertime. I did have to go into work today but we did get some snow flurries yesterday at work and we got to leave work early. It rained a little while in my neck of the woods but it didn't last long. It was much colder today than it was yesterday surprisingly enough. I do hope your family is well. I will talk to you again soon.

I think it's genetics! I haven't met a man yet who didn't procrastinate about everything and anything unless it came to something they WANTED to do. I agree though hubby needs an Italian grandma's smack up side the head for not being on the ball. (Hugs) Indigo

I hope you do continue to get better day by day.  These things take time let me tell you.  Interesting that it is a yearly thing for you.  Have a nice Friday. : )

Men!  Need I say more!  Glad you are feeling better and that your car got sorted out.  Toast and marmelade sounds pretty good to me!
Especially if someone else makes it!  Why does toast always taste better if someone else makes it?

Wishing you a fast recovery. I lived in Key West for 3 years without a stove to keep warm.. so I know it can get cold in Florida. lol Have a wonderful weekend. Janie

My ex was a bad procrastinator, hence the title of ex, but one thing my neighbor and I used to do to get our spouses to do things we needed them to do... we asked each others husband. Men will bend over backwards to help someone else where they put off their wife. Next time, ask a neighbor to look at the car, or the husbands best friend.  ;)
