Waxing, Broken pipes ..Britney...

Good Morning Campers!

Just another manic Monday ;-)

I had an interesting weekend. Hubby has wanted sprinklers put in for the longest time. You know the ones that are on a timer and pop up out the ground and water your lawn with no requirements from you..that come on in the wee hours of the morning  while you are sleeping comfortably.. he has been pricing them up for ages..we had quotes ranging from a couple of thousand to a couple of thousand more...so he gets  a tip about a guy who does it "on the side" for a lot LESS as in only $1200 for front and back yards... 5 "zones".. hubby got that look and I knew it was all over..we went from "just getting a quote" Thursday night to my entire yard being dug up Saturday....now this is the pristine yard that I was wanting to show off to my dad who hasn't been here in 9 years ... it now looks like an army of giant moles ran through it.. not to mention on Saturday they cut through the pipe to the pool..yes the pool....let's just say Lyn was a mental case on Saturday.. so I was banished from the house...It was pouring rain at this time too..and the black dirt they were traipsing all over my beige pool deck was not helping my mood.. so off I went for a relaxing pedicure...no problems there..feet look cute...so I decide to get my eyebrows waxed...as she is waxing she "suggests" I get my lip done...hmmm... I have blonde cute little hairs on my lip...not many but they are noticable when I have a tan...no one has ever pointed them out to me before though so I think if she can see them everyone else must be able to so I tell her go ahead...BAD idea...it hurt like a son of a bitch! I truly think she took the top layer of my lip off with the cute little blonde hairs!! I know all about waxing pain..I get my eyebrows done regularly but this was a whole new level...but the hair is gone..guess what I have instead?? a lovely row of little white heads where the hair used to be..I guess my lip area is too sensitive for waxing.. ya think??

9 PM Saturday night they finish the yard. All the sprinklers are working. The pipe to the pool has been fixed. Yard looks like crap though.

"But hunny it will look fine in  a couple of weeks" says him

"And my dad will be long gone by then and will tell everyone that they have giant moles in America" says me  ;-)

I did not get my Mexican food fix this weekend either...hubby couldn't leave because he was too busy supervising the sprinkler project. Yesterday was a much better day though. ;-)  I went to church... I  did not enjoy it as much as the first time..they lost me when they started acting out scenes from the bible... but the music was good and I left feeling better than when I went in so that's a good thing... I stopped off at the grocery store to grab a few things for dinner and then I came home and spent the afternoon laying by the pool reading....my kind of afternoon... I finished off my weekend by catching the opening of the VMA's...oh my poor Britney..what the ??? I will leave the bashing to the professionals...she sucked though...and as for the rest of the show...I don't know they lost me at Britney....

So how was your weekend??

I seen her on the news about the opening show and she was horrible and looked horrible too. She should not of been wearing that skimpy outfit. Have a great monday. (((((((((hugs))))))

Shoot, I thought you were waxing Britney.  I was concerned ;-0.

As I went to work in the rain yesterday the neighbors sprinklers were sprinkling away.  Don't they have moisture sensors to let them know not to turn on?   Loved your description of getting your lip done.  That cinches it.  Plucking for me, LOL.

Oh my!  You've been through a lot!  I had a similar waxing experience ...except she went for my chin... I was horrified (thinking, I have hairs on my chin?) so told her to go for it!  Now, I am forever paranoid about it!  all because she wanted to charge me for an extra body part.  Oh well.

Sorry about your beautiful yard being dug up!  But how wonderful that you are getting to spend quality time with dad!  He will see through the mess... and see right into the beautiful eyes of his lovely daughter!

I am SOOOOOOOOO happy you went to church...sorry it was a bit weird... I haven't experienced that acting stuff at all... but at least you are reaching out to God and feeling His unconditional love and grace!!!  You are such a precious child!

God bless you Lyn-
Amanda

Giant moles....ROFLMAO!!! Sorry about the lip waxing, I havent had the nerve to ever try it so I just pluck if I see something now I know Im not going to try..LOL. I watch some video's of the VMA's and Brit acted like she no more wanted to be there than I wanted to finish watching it...but you know that caught in the head lights kinda of thing...you know you need to turn your head but you keep watching..that was me. Huuuugs, Robin

At least your hubby DOES something!!  Mine sits on the couch Friday evening after work and doesn't get up, well, almost, until Sunday night...to go to bed!!  Sounds like a pretty good weekend!!  I wonder if you'll have to continue to lip job...

Ever get that little bell that goes off in your head when guys get a bug up their ass? They have no sense in timing, what so ever! Great price, would of been better if he could of scheduled it after you dad's visit. Being Native I'm fortunate not to get those little facial hairs. I barely have fuzz on my arms....Glad the weekend winded down to you being able to enjoy yourself. (Hugs) Indigo

Oh yeah...if you are expecting company, that is when your man will decide to gut a room or chop down a tree or...hmmm...dig up the lawn like a giant mole.
At least your feet "look cute." Hang in there! --Cin

I don`t think I`d ever get my upper lip waxed Lyn, what if it grew back darker than before? I`ll stick to my tweezers and getting my eyebrows threaded instead of the dreaded wax...lol! :o)

I'm kind of glad I didn't catch Britney make a fool of herself on stage.  I'm sure I'll be seeing it on the T.V. for weeks to come.  My hubby just took a big ole' hedge out of the front yard, and now I have two pits of dirt.  Lovely.  I know it won't stay that way, but it just looks depressing.  Men just like making holes in dirt--just like dogs.  :)  Julie

I have to admit, I stopped routing for Britney a while ago ... but that was hard to watch last night.  And I'm with you, I turned it off after that so we missed the Kid Rock and Tommy Lee fight in the audience!  Too funny.
Waxing the upper lip is rough ... but I promise you it gets easier.  I will never forget the first time I did it and left the salon and my honey and kids looked at me like I had 4 heads.  It was clear they were embarrassed for me, I just didn't know why until we got into the car and I had this huge red stripe across my lip with huge whelps in it!  It was horrible!  And yes, I actually went back a second time and said "more please" ::eye roll::  But it does get easier, hang in there.

If my man had arranged for the yard to be dug up the weekend before visitors, I would have made sure one of those sprinklers, was stuck right up his arse!

I had a great weekend - talked to Hubby on the phone, hit the one-month mark of the deployment, and now I get the keys to our new house tomorrow morning!! Wahoo!! :)

We had a great weekend!!  Probably our "last" weekend of the summer-it's starting to feel like Autumn already... How lovely you will no longer need to water by hand!!  I am so envious...

Have a great week, camper! xoxo MeMeadow

Fresh and bright over here in Old Blighty!  You remind me of that one scene from Steel Magnolias when Wheezer has her lip done.  I know you don't find it funny, but it's one of those things one can't help but giggle about!

Bloody Hell!  What a weekend!  I think I would have buried my dearly beloved in one of the 'mole holes' had he dug up my garden the week before visitors I had been waiting 9 years for!!!!!  You must love him lots to let him live....lol...!!!

As for the waxing - Girl are you CRAZY?  You ever bitten into something hot and burned your lip???  That's cos it's sooooo sensitive!  NOT built for HOT WAX - especially not on blondes!!!  Maybe dark haired, Mediterraneans but NOT blonde pommies!!!  I have tears in my eyes just thinking about it!

Here's hoping your garden and you lip heal quickly!

Hugs

Hmm...watching Britney is like watching a train wreck happening and not being able to stop it.  Sad, really sad.  You do know how to have exiting weekends don't you!  I tried the lip waxing once.  Did my own, ended up with half an upper lip still full of hair and the other half so swollen and red it looked like I had been punched!  NEVER again.  There are some things that are just not meant to be waxed and the upper lip is one of them ...  I ain't gonna mention the others.  :-|

Holy crap, stop waxing hair off your face, will ya?!?!?
Sorry about the sprinkler stuff, but let me ask, were the guys installing, hot??? Come on, that at least would make it worth it ! LMAO.
Hope your week is better.
And hubby is right, the lawn will look great !

Ellen

Awww hun..I get those little yellow spots when I try to wax my ass...lol! Let's just say, I prefer to NOT do it these days..haha! Can't help having a sensitive booty ;-)

I hope your garden is recovering from the ordeal nicely. I can just imagine your face when you saw it..lol...*hugs*.

As for the VMA's, watching Britney was enough for me. I feel so sorry for her though. Maybe she was scared? I dunno, but it sucked big time. She was better when she did more 'poppy' songs like 'Oops I did it again', 'Stronger' and 'Lucky'. Every artist lately seems to think they have to go down the R'n'B route. It all seems to be about who can repeat the same amount of lines in one song..lol!

Anyways, Love ya loads babes,

Ste

I so need to get my eyebrows waxed. Maybe some day soon. I just hid out in my bedroom most of the weekend. We have those damn sprinklers. I think they are more trouble then they are worth. They again if we did not have them we would have no lawn! LOL

Blimey Lyn, sounds like you have been having fun.  I had to laugh about you getting your eyebrows and moustach done too.  Rosie had her eyebrows done last week for the first time and she was screaming!  I don't think she'll have it done again.  Me ... well, I think I must have killed mine in the 70s, thank god I don't have to have my brows waxed.  I can't imagine how it must hurt to have bikini lines or underarms done.  Not long until your dad comes, he won't mind what your garden is like ... I bet he just can't wait to see his girl.  Hugs, Tells x

Figures it would get dug up right before your dad arrives, timing huh? :)
Hope you have a good rest of the week!
