Back to normal....

Good morning campers!!

Well they're gone...and safely back in chilly old England...we had a lovely time..but it is always good to get back to normal..I could tell my sister was itching to get back to her boyfriend and even my dad wanted to get home..2 weeks is a long time for a visit but that's the way we have to do it when you travel so far otherwise it is not worth the expensive..it is the same when I go to UK..I am always happy to get back home...they said they had a fabulous time and that I took real good care of them..it was not always easy as my dad is set in his ways and will not try anything out of his comfort zone..he is a meat potato and veg kind of a guy and will NOT try anything different ..he also prefers to eat his main meal of the day at lunch time but there was no way I could manage that with our schedules..the best I could do was have us eat as early as possible... anything after 5pm was late to him..LOL..but even with all the minor frustrations of having our lives uprooted for a couple of weeks...the switching around of beds and schedules etc it was all worth it in the end..there is no one who knows you better than family and the reminiscing was so much fun..the kids enjoyed hearing stories of me when I was growing up...I will post pics later.. I have a lot of catching up to do and intend to just that..I have a big old mug of coffee and a quiet house so I am off to read and comment..;-)

glad you all had a good visit

Hi Lyn,
Really glad the visit went well, I bet you really enjoyed it. I'm a family person ( Mother Hen ) and my Dad is 79 now and so stubborn about his food even though I try to get him to eat well, he still likes his apple pie or cream cakes.
Glad things are back to normal for you and will be in touch soon.

Love and best      Pat  x x x

We all swear we're not going to get 'like that' when we're your dad's age but I bet we do.  He probably said the same thing at your age! LOL.  He enjoyed his visit, that's the main thing - glad you did too.

I know what you mean about Dads being set in their ways. When we go away, we don't eat till after 9pm, sometimes later. He wanted to go out and eat at 6!!!!! I was still sun bathing then.

Good to hear it all went well for you all Lyn, and I do know what you mean about your dad being set in his ways!  My parents have both died but I'm really close to my Godmother, she would get on well with your dad - main meal at lunchtime, no spicy food just plain old English food - and although we enjoy taking her on holiday and out for the day, it does make for hard work!  Still, you enjoy your coffee, get back to your spicy foods and think of all the things you spoke about while they were here!  Glad you're back in J-Land!  Love, Pat    http://journals.aol.co.uk/pm71blackfen/ramblings-from-pat/

Hi, it is always nice to get badk to your own home regardless of how great a time you had. Glad your relations enjoyed themselves and had a good holiday. It is a long flight and it would not be worth the money for any less of a visit. Love Joan.

Yes, it seems the older we get, the more change is hard for us...lol...Although I have to say, your Dad has the right idea about making his main meal early in the day..it's just hard to do when everyone is busy during the day with work, shcool, etc.....
Can't wait to see some pictures..
Have a great week being back to normal!

I`m glad your family enjoyed the vist Lyn. I know what you mean about meal times, my Dad always ate at the same time, always earlier than us. I wonder if it`s a generation thing.

It is that way here in the south too....the big meal at "dinner" aka lunch and then you have "supper" for dinner.

I am glad you had a wonderful visit with you family Lyn...sometimes that is exactly what we all need.

I'm so glad you had a lovely visit with your family Lyn!  I had wondered how it was going.  My mom is very set in her ways at 75.  I would so love to have her come and visit me here in England, but I don't think she ever will.  You are so blessed to have your family come and visit you.  That would mean the world to me.

You are right you know.. If you travel overseas you have to at least visit for a few weeks!  It's so expensive to go anywhere, it's not worth to go less than that time.  I'm glad you had a nice visit with your family, and sounds like they had fun too.  I know what you mean about getting back to normal too...  It feels nice to be back from "vacation mode" to the familar routine.

Oh.. Avon gives you the option online to buy, and you can have someone in your area bring it to you for free-so no shipping.

Take care now!  :)  Julie

How nice to see your family. I am sure your dad enjoyed it despite his meal times not being his usual. They get stuck into a routine don't they. You must miss them when you so rarely see them. Love Conniex
