Tuesdays with Lyn

Good Morning campers!

I start with a prayer request.. I have just heard that the squadron that my hubby flew with on several deployments has lost a helicopter in Nevada...all 5 on board are dead..the chances are we know some if not all of the crew and my blood ran cold when I heard the news..even though I know my hubby is safely sitting behind his desk here on the base he was a member of the helo community for so long that I had an automatic reaction of terror...my heart and soul goes out to those involved this time.. I will let you know when I have more..they have not released names yet.

I haven't been online much the last few days..we had a pretty good weekend..Friday we ended up staying home because true beauty's car broke down so dad came to the rescue and had her car towed..thank god the fuel pump was under the warranty..Saturday I went to Cinco De Mayo with friends from work and then hubby joined us later..it was a lot of fun..Sunday I went grocery shopping and basically chilled out..weather was cloudy so no pool time..Yesterday I worked..another NEW part timer started.. she seems ok..I will let you know.. I have lost faith in these part timers..even though I am one myself..HOWEVER I always work the days I am supposed to and I fill in for the girls when they need time off and I am the only one who is cross trained for all positions so I know I am an asset to the team....today is my day off.. I am back to my regular schedule for now..the weather is perfect..blue skies..nice breeze and not to hot.. I am going to get all my housework done and get my butt out by the pool..

Sorry this hasn't been the happiest of entries but my head is with those poor families right now.. I'm just sad....someone lost their mum or dad today or their brother or sister...just breaks my heart...

have a good week....

Lyn, I am so sorry. My family always stops to watch the Seahawks flying through the valley here. I'm glad your husband was safe at home. I wish all wives could say that today and every day.
I had to face the "knock on the door" for my last husband. Commercial fisherman. Even before that, I died a little every time I heard about a boat going down. So, I kind of know what you are feeling. --Cin

Sorry to hear about the crash and the deaths.  That kind of story always hits a bit close to home when you have a loved one in the military.  My dad was supposed to go on a flight the year before I was born, however got put in the hospital due to an infection instead.  Some other poor sod had to take his place on the flight and the plane went down killing everyone on board.  Had my dad been on the flight I wouldn't be here.  Wierd thought.  You were right on my thread, what you said about people judging that poor mom.  It's quite uncalled for.  She has enough sorrow and worry to deal with at the moment and I can well imagine that nobody could ever judge her more harshly than she is now judging herself.  The all need our prayers.
Now that I've depressed you I'll go check on my banana bread!  (It smells heavenly!)

It sad how unexpectantly your world can come to an end. Hoping the new timer works out, I know you've been pretty tired of the ignorant useless help thus far. Enjoy your time off. Sounds like you had a great weekend this past few days.(Hugs) Indigo

My deepest sympathies go out to the families of the helo crash. My husband's brother died in a helicopter crash in Viet Nam.  They were shot down I believe. All 3 of my children have served in the military. My daughter was in the Navy & sons in the Army. My youngest son was deployed when the war started. He was only there 6 mos when he returned because he had to have surgery on his legs. Every time one of our soldiers lose his life at home or overseas, it tugs at my heart.
It's a dreary rainy day. Good napping weather.
Hope you have a good week.

I am very sorry for the families of those tragically killed :(  I hope work has gone ok.  Surely they should train up more people to do all the posts.

Thats really sad, I am sorry to hear this news.  My prayers are for their families.  Thank god your husband is now at home, safe and sound, you must have had some very worrying times though I am sure.  Hope your new part timer works out ok, its just a matter of getting someone who has commonsense and who is willing to work, what a difference that makes.  We had our new lady start today and she seems on the ball so I hope we'll all get on ok.  Time will tell!  Hope your day off was good.  Hugs, Terry x
