Good Morning Campers! ![]()
Happy Easter to one and all....
22 Years ago today True Beauty made her way into the world at 7.41 am. I had feared the pain of childbirth and thought that it was going to be way worse than it was and therefore did not go to the hospital till rather late for a first timer..I was already 8 cm dilated! However once they told me that I started to panic... I did get an epidural and she came screaming into the world 4 hours later...not without me tearing very badly and having 80 stitches...ouch! She was born at Portsmouth Naval hospital in Virginia and it was a horrible place. I laid in dirty sheets for an entire shift as they had had a shift change and they each thought the other shift had changed me... the bathroom had no light bulb! back then I was a timid little thing and wouldn't dare make a scene...hubby did get things taken care of though but it took ages...he was a nothing muffin back then...LOL...True Beauty was a fussy little thing..I tried to breast feed but was unsuccessful.. I got Mastitis but didn't know it.. my boobs were rock solid with red lines running up them and I had a fever of 102.. a quick trip to the ER and I was treated for infection and True Beauty got some formula and finally stopped crying after 3 days straight....a special thing happened the day she was born..3000 miles away her great grandfather..hubbys gramp..was lying in his hospital bed...he sat up the morning she was born and said who is that beautiful little girl sitting on the end of the bed?? that same afternoon he died..they always say one life leaves as another begins... true beauty was the first grandchild on my side of the family and the first granddaughter on hubbys side so she was welcomed with open arms...she has been an absolute joy to us . I can honestly say that apart from a few teenage moments we have not had an ounce of trouble from her.. she brings joy to all that are around her and is as beautiful on the inside as she is the out.. I am so happy that her and I have become the kind of Mother and Daughter that I so longed for growing up...we are friends now..my job is done of raising her and now we get to enjoy a whole new relationship..one of love and encouragement and friendship....Happy Birthday to my one and only daughter who showed me what unconditional love is and fulfilled my dreams beyond measure...I love you Rachel Lyn.
We had a great day yesterday... True beauty and I went to the mall and I treated her and her best friend to lunch....then we went shopping.. I bought a new outfit to wear out tonight with her friends... she also got her tattoo on Wednesday...it is gorgeous..I will post pics later when it has healed a bit.. it is of a Lily..which was her grandma's name....
I have seen 2 snakes here in the past few days!! one was in the pool...horror of horrors!! that freaked me out a bit and then I saw one slithering past the garage door..I am keeping that thing closed from now on!! They are only garden snakes but they were long and black and made the hairs on my neck stand up.. I flipping hate snakes....
Wednesday night was a lot of fun .. maybe a little too much because I felt a little worse for the wear yesterday... but nothing a hot shower and a couple of aspirin couldn't fix......I promised True beauty a day out and that's what she got..but both hubby and I were in bed by 10 last night....
Okay I need to get going here..I have yet to buy anything for easter so I best get busy....whatever your plans are this weekend I hope you enjoy!

What a lovely tribute to your daughter! I think it is really cool that she visited your grandpa before he died! Sorry the snakes are driving you nuts. Hope they stay away.

Happy B-day to your daughter. I can relate to the "one life leaves as another begins". When my nephew was born, my grandfather was told and that was the last thing he heard and understood before he passed.

I had our oldest daughter at tripler army medical center in Hawaii. People actually call the cripler because it is so bad! Our oldest was born with group b strep and was limp at birth! I just "love" military medicine. I do hope that you have a great weekend.

Happy Birthday to your beautiful daughter! You definately should print this entry off for her to have. So often we don't know how another feels about us, but to see this written out she'd never have any doubts.
I hate snakes too. I grew up with my dad saying "the only good snake is a dead snake" and I sooo sooo soo agree! LOL
We used to have 4 foot long grass snakes in our garden, thankfully I haven't seen one for a while.
Happy Easter.

My two nieces who don't live but 15 minutes from here have been catching garter snakes by the dozen in the last couple of days. It's a mating thing. Every Spring at the farm in Canada there would be a three day period where you'd happen upon snakes everywhere you looked.
I love snakes myself. I put in an order with my nieces. Why pay $70 for a snake at Petco (that will also include an arguement with Ma) when my darling nieces can give me one as a present that no one can say NO to!
Happy Birthday to True Beauty! What a neat story about her gramps. Hope you have a terrific Easter!!! De ;)
Happy Birthday to True Beauty. Ugh...snakes...I`m glad we don`t have them here! I lost one grandad while expecting Kerry and the other while expecting Dan, both when I was 8 mths gone. It`s almost like the baby was taking their place in the world. I hope you all have a very Happy Easter. :o)
Love Sandra xxxx
Happy birthday to True Beauty, I bet she had a wonderful day. It was spooky her great grandad dying the same day she was born after saying he saw the little girl at the end of his bed. I am glad you have a lovely relationship with her and that is all we can ever wish for with our children. I hope you have a lovely Easter and that it is snakeless. Hugs, Terry x
What a beatiful way to honour your daughters birthday! Hannah and I are very close too and I hope that doesn't change too much through the teenage years (God! help me!!). Here's hoping you enjoy a snake free Easter!
Hugs

i am glad she had such a wonderful birthday and loved reading about how she came into this world. You are such a good mom!
I hope you and yours have a blessed Easter. love, lj
Happy Birthday !! What an exciting age to enter !!!
hugs,
Ellen
I did not like the sound of those snakes?! Your daughter sounds wonderful. You must be very proud of her...like I am of all my kids and grandkids! Love Conniex
Have a happy Easter Lyn. I think I wouldn't like those snakes much either, not my favorite reptile, then again reptiles aren't my thing. It seems like the military facilities in this country don't really care about decent treatment. Anyway, take care and enjoy the holiday mum! LOL
Phil
Happy Birthday to True Beauty and a Happy Easter to you too! Snakes generally come around when there is something to eat. So perhaps you could tolerate them in your garden. I think you wouldn't like whatever they're hunting either! LOL! But I agree with you in making sure the hunt doesn't carry on into your house.
Hugs,
Susie

Happy Belated Birthday to True Beauty. I think it is wonderful you have such a wonderful relationship. My daughter is 29 and we are just starting to build that relationship. She came out of the womb kicking and screaming. pushing aaway from everyone. She spent most of her life that way. Went to the Navy out of HS. Came back even more independent. Now she is starting to let me in...finally.
Hope you had a wonderful Easter.
