Sunday Catch up

Good Morning Campers.

Can you hear that? that is the sound of silence..ahhhhhhhhhhh!! Yes my new windows are in and they have made such an incredible difference in the amount of noise that filters through..it is amazing. They are beautiful and keep the draughts out too..I will get some pics soon I promise...I am well pleased  with the results..in and out in 7 hours they were. Did not even stop for a lunch break. They said they ate a huge breakfast before coming and that that is how they like to do business.. just keep working till their finished. Nice work ethic I told them. ;-)

Busy old weekend so far. My FIL's wife is back in the UK to attend her Mothers funeral (she was 100) so FIL is here alone. He has major health issues so we have been keeping an eye on him . He refused to come stay around here but he only lives about 2 miles from here so we have been able to pop in and out. True beauty went out to dinner with her gramp last night and stayed the night over there to keep him company.. Dh has taken him out to lunch a couple of times and Ryan has been over talking Airplanes with him...;-) I am doing his laundry today and cooking him a Sunday dinner.. he is coming over here to eat..get him out the house a bit...Last night hubby and I went to see the Celtic Women.. they were fantastic..they have the voices of angels. And yes they made me cry..when they sang "Danny Boy' "Somewhere over the Rainbow" and "Raise me up" that was it I was a goner... they got standing ovations and did 2 encores.. I thoroughly enjoyed it and so did hubby...or at least he said he did.... ;-)Went to a baby shower yesterday too for one of our good friends DIL's..long time since I went to a baby shower..I won a prize for picking the most safety pins out of a bowl of rice while blindfolded..yes it is as weird as it sounds but I got a nice candle out of the deal...

I caught part two of Oprahs show on the Secret...I shan't bore you with the philosophy here but anyone interested just google "the Secret' and you will find all you could ever want to know about the laws of attraction..I have to admit I found it very interesting and I shall be implementingparts of the theory into my life...stand by for the new Lyn.. ;-)

Well J landers I have taken enough of your time on this Sunday Morning.. I wish you all a great rest of the weekend.. I am leaving you with a graphic just because it cracked me up  and my five....enjoy.. ;-)

Lyn-Glad to hear about you being happy with the windows..we need them so bad, but I hate to replace them they are soooooooo oooolllllddddd. I have wanted to see Celtic Women, but I am sure they will never make it to KY.
Baby showers are great fun..we attended one last summer and they played drop the clothespin in a bottle from your knees..talk about laughing out loud. too funny.
My friend Holly has been talking about The Secret for 2 weeks-she has bought the book, dvd and watched the followup on Oprah. She is living it and says it is working for her. I am buying the book...I need TIVO also...

The windows sound great!  Glad you enjoyed the concert, it must have been very moving to make you cry. The baby shower sounded fun ... good job the pins were shut!  Have a great week.  Hugs.  Terry x

PLEASE bore me with the details!  I know it has something to do with "what one thinks all the time, influences outcomes".  I checked out what I could find over here and basically all that could be found were advertisements to buy the DVD.  Leave it to Oprah to come upon this concept.

Your new windows sound wonderful and I bet the true test will come this summer with that gruelling heat that you have in FL.  Our windows are so old in this house that we can see our drapes blowing when it's a windy day!  Ah yes, the joys of living in a rented house!

I have no income this year and so don't have to file!  Yes!  I can't tell you what a relief that is!  It is a royal pain in the a** to do those taxes over here and send them.  Next year, now that I am working, is going to be absolutely hideous.  I have to go through a very complicated procedure of getting tax credit and then calculating the difference.  Geesh!

Love,
Susie

I want to hear more about the secret!  I went searching more about it after hearing about it in another journal but, it was just ads to buy.  I want to know if it's worth buying before doing so.  "Bore" us ... not that I'd be bored. :-)

ahh new windows, I would love that, but this house is in a historical preservation list and we can't change anything on the front or the sides, we can replace in the back, but there I would love to knock out 3 widows and add french doors to a new padio, with a hot tub would be great also, lol, wishful thinking again, ok back to reality, and catching up, with more journals, take care, MISSY

Hmmm I keep hearing about the Oprah secret... am so intrigued now.  Haven't had any time for watching tv due to all this unpacking.  So glad you got the new windows.  We are drafty here in this house so we'll have to do new windows at some point.  I haven't been to a baby shower in ages either.  Hugs,
Lisa
