Spring, shopping and baby oil....

Good Morning Campers.

Up bright and early here this morning. Have had an awesome couple of days. the weather has been perfect..sunny blue skies, temps in the 70's and a nice breeze. This is the weather we Floridians live for..it gives you this  renewed energy and appreciation for life. Makes you start thinking of lazy summer days spent by the pool, trips to the beach, Barbecues, riding lawn mowers, sprinklers, taking the boat to the pub on the river, reading your book while laying on your lounger at the edge of the lake with the water lapping over your toes, planting flowers and bringing the back yard back to life.... I could go on and on....I was sorely tempted to get going in the planting department but hubby was right to warn me we could still have a cold snap so I was good and only got a couple of goodies at the Garden centre..which I might add was buzzing with people with the same joy as us...;-)  We have been looking for some bamboo shades to put up in the Florida room and have not been able to find any that fit this one particular window that isn't as wide as the others...it is 42" and the standard sizes are 48".. we will have to custom order it I guess..but that is not as easy as it sounds..I need them all to match...but I shan't give up yet... hubby got some fertilizer and a new spreader..I got a new bench for out front that matches the Shepherd's hook plant hanger out there...we got a new porch light..a couple of hanging baskets...can't remember what else now but it was a lovely day out..it was nice just to be outside.. I loved seeing everyone out and about and in such good moods all because of the glorious weather..people were washing their cars, walking their dogs..and the teenage girls were all slathered in baby oil .. that's a sure sign of spring when the girls are finding any excuse to be seen in their bikini's.... walking to the mail box to get the mail...ever -so-slowly...;-)

Friday night was our weekly over indulgence of Mexican food and Margarita's...I cleaned the entire house Friday too and managed to get an hour by the pool reading...I did go to the staff meeting and it was predictable....however I think that the Dr's have been made aware of some of her shenanigans and they are paying very close attention..that's all I got to say about that..;-)

I hope you all are having a fabulous weekend... I know I am...

I shall leave you with my five....

L

1. Beautiful weather and the chance to get out and enjoy it....

2.. Tax refund directly deposited.... ;-)

3... Indulging in a little retail therapy courtesy of # 2...

4....Finding the Dual Cleanse I have been wanting on sale at BJ's....(body detoxification program)

5..... Spring Fever....

(I know I run the risk of getting hit with cyber snowballs going on and on about this nice weather but I can't help it....you can get back at me in the summer when I am miserable and have swollen ankles from the heat and humidity.... ;-)

Yes, I'll hit you with that cyber snowball!  LOL  Our trip north is being postponed due to ice and snow.  And a three year old with a fever...  We'll get there soon though.
Enjoy that great weather.  Some of our spring birds have come back and it is wonderful to hear them singing when I open the door in the morning!

Yes this time of year is absolutely beautiful in Florida.  That is one thing we will miss.  I'm sure by next year I'll hate the snow and ice and freezing rain.  Well sounds like you have a serious case of spring fever.  Have a great week!!  Hugs,
Lisa

It is soooo tempting when the sun comes out this time of year to want to get a jump start on the spring and get out in the garden and get your hands dirty!  Lucky you to be having such nice temps and sunshine!  Nevermind, ours can't be very far away. I hear spring is just around the corner!

I have spent so many holidays in Florida, and know the river you are talking about.  I believe it is part of the Inner Coastal Waterway.  I loved seeing the dolphins swimming along and the pelicans sitting on their heads trying to get the fish they were eating.  I like to go to FL in the summer, but my hubby complains about the sun beating down on his head over here in the UK.  Can you imagine his reaction to Daytona Beach in August?  All of our trees are in bloom over here and the robyns, finches and wrens are singing their hearts out at 4 in the morning now.  Thank goodness the black birds haven't kicked in yet!  LOL!  Enjoy your mild weather and relaxation by the pool.  Sounds heavenly this time of year.  I can't throw snow, but there's enough mud over here to throw that!  Musn't worry, though, I don't begrudge you your blissful weather.  Enjoy!

Love,
Susie

ROFLMAO - at the cyber snowballs.  Yes, I will someday be living in FL.  Real soon I hope.  Whats not to like about hot beautiful sunny weather?  Now my anxiety is really up again just thinking about it.  When I move there I sure hope we can meet up and you can fill me in on how th locals live etc.  :)

Oh, I don't blame you for going on about the weather. Why not? We're all looking forward to being able to be outside for longer than a few minutes. Here in Oregon it isn't too bad, at the moment. Temps are still in the mid 50's but the sun is sometimes out- which is a good sign. Glad you're able to enjoy the outdoors. And nope! No cyber snowballs coming from me. lol

I am glad you are having great weather there!  Here in Kansas we are getting winter again after a few spring-like days.  Like you, I am getting eager to have my outdoor flowers -- but here it has to be past the third week of April before we are frost-free.  I am dreaming of my front porch garden that will be.  I have last year's garden's remnants in my basement office/sewing room.  A gerbera daisy and several geraniums that have bloomed off and on through the winter, thanks to a big daylight window lol.  If they can hang on another 8 weeks, they'll be back outside.
loving you

Sounds beautiful Lyn :)  I really, really miss the spring in Oregon - it's so beautiful there at that time (but it's beautiful all year round in my opinion) the daffodils/tulips/roses are all blooming, the fruit trees are coming to - it's just damned beautiful, a "baptism" of nature & a well of hope of new beginnings. Arrived in Fort Lauderale this morning to temperatures of 80 degrees.  Mind you where did that thunderstorm come from just now.  Everything went black, could not see the highway which can only be 100 yards from my hotel window, and the rain and wind.  All over in about 10 mins- amazing
