DAY NINE 2010

Good Evening Campers!!

It's me again...;-)

So Sonya asked what had grabbed my attention in the book "Mrs Kimble"..I guess it was like peeking in the window of your neighbour...the detail of these women's lives is fascinating..it was one of those books that you don't want to put down...another one I just finished which I also couldn't put down was "Eating Heaven" by Jennie Shortridge... just a couple of really good books to help pass the time while we are snuggled up inside...;-)) I am now reading a whimsical but delightful book called "Garden Spells"..reminds me of "Practical Magic"

So we've all seen those TV ads...Billy Mays used to do a lot of them and now there is this English bloke..forget his name but anyway he has a commercial for the "snake" ..well today True Beauty and I were killing some time in Walmart and saw the TV section where they have all the "deals" off the telly...so I bought the Snake drain opener...True Beauty has long hair that clogs the drains ALL the time ...well it did NOT work...lol...down the plug it went and got stuck...my son pulled it out..minus the hook which is now down the drain with the hair...so I shall be taking that back tomorrow and using the money to by some good old drano...LOL..

Other than wasting my money at Wally World today has been a stay inside and stay warm kind of a day..the temps never got above 32F here ..Lifetime has been playing chick flicks all day..I have also done some reading..played on the computer and spoke to hubby in Guam where it is already Sunday....

Oh and has anyone seen the People magazine cover of Kate Gosselins new hair do?? I think one should not get hair extensions when you still have short hair sticking out...it looks beyond ridiculous....I hear she is coming out with a new show....I shan't be watching....but then again i shouldn't look at train wrecks either....;-)

I think I need to get out more.... cabin fever makes me punch drunk...LOL

Take care...

L xx

We are freezing here..the only nice thing is that it has been sunny out..lol..
I actually picked up a duraflame log today. I use them as starters for the real wood.
Too bad about the Snake..it's frustrating when those types of things don't work..But we sure keep buying them and giving it a try..lol.
Have a nice week-end,
Sheri

Hi Lyn..it is something about cold weather that makes me want to fix soups and stews...seems to me they go together!! and those tv thingys never work...altho with a bit of this and that we did get that one that goes on the bottom of a door to keep cold air from coming in..it works real fine...I like "liquid plumber" the best...seems to work good in these old pipes around here...and I don't mean "my pipes" LOLOL...and your book selection sound interesting...gonna check them out!!! Have a good day of smiles...hugs from Ora in KY

When my daughter was still at home we had the hair problem too and I found these nice little plastic covers that go over the shower drain and they collect the hair so it cannot go down the drain. Sure saved a lot of work. I now have one in my kitchen drain and my laundry tub drain too. They work!

Unfortunatelly, I found myself in wally world this afternoon, lol! Did mostly food shopping though. Hubby's started his buying for India.
I've never bought any of those things off tv. Have been thinging about that cat board thingie. The cat hardly every goes outside and thought maybe this would help trim her claws, since a human doing it is out of the question!
Have to check out your books, haven't started a new one yet.
Thanks for visiting my blog.

I really haven't tried any TV items myself. Kate G. she is a shameful excuse for a mother in my opinion. Her husband is no better.. Enjoy the sunshine, I can't wait until spring!

Glad to hear from that snake thing didn't work. Now I WON'T be tempted to buy it. My hair clogs are one my hubby's pet peeves. Sorry you had bad luck with it. I haven't heard of any of he books you've been reading. I'm always on the look out for a good read. I like all books but do love a good crime novel. I just finished reading a book that my granddaughter's bio Mom gave her. The Alchemaster's Apprentice. My son & her stepmom didn't think it would be appropriate for her as it has illustrations in it of "creatures" & a cat wearing a wizard's hat with a pentagram on it. they are verrry strict religiouly so I volunteered to read it & give my opinion. (They already had their minds made up I think). I thought it no worse than the Harry Potter books/movies, all of which she has seen & read. But now have decided they too might not be appropriate for her. Good God, she is 13!! She should be able to read what she wants. THEY SHOULG BE GLAD SHE WANTS TO READ! Sorry for the yell. LOL I get so mad at them. They dediced that even though good won over evil, and the "bad guy" died in the end that she could not read it. I was livid. I told them if reding a book made her disbelieve her religious upbringing and start practicing alchemy or witchcraft, then she didn't have much of a mind. LOL Anyway, I'll step off my soapbox now. Hope you all warm up soon.
Take good care. Barb (queenb)
