HAPPY DAYS....

Good Morning Campers!!

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far....mine is coming along nicely...the weather here is just about perfect..supposed to reach a high of 80F today..my plans are to lay out by the pool and read...after doing my housework of course...;-)

Speaking of reading here is a list of some of the books I have been reading lately...

In no particular order...

"Knit Two" Kate Jacobs
"Unravelled" Robyn Harding
'Wife goes on" Leslie Lehr
"The almost archer sisters" Lisa Gabriele
"Pawleys Island" Dorothea Benton Franklin
"Gilding Lily" Tatiana Boncompagni
"The insufficiency of maps" Nora Pierce
"Marshmallows for Breakfast" by Dorothy Koomson
"The Lending Ladies Library" Janice Kulyk Keefer
"Apart from the crowd" Anna McPartin
"Your roots are showing" Elise Chidley

I am currently reading
"Time is a River" Mary Alice Monroe...

So.. not much else going on ..hubby is still doing the honey do list..he tiled the front step this week..did an excellent job too...terracotta colour...I must get out the camera and take some pics of his hard work..we have started buying a few plants here and there for the back yard..we replanted some pots on the deck..bought new patio cushions...he has been weeding and generally tidying the yard..the grass is starting to come in again...the freezes we had here turned everything a drab brown colour..it's nice to see everything coming back to life....I spoke to my dad yesterday back in UK..always nice to catch up with him..he doesn't always hear the phone when I ring so it was great to have him pick up and get a chance to chat with him...how I wish I could just hop on a plane and visit just for the weekend but it's not that easy...he says the same that he wishes we lived closer....the older he gets the more true this rings...I may go home for Christmas this year....not sure yet...but the seed has been planted...;-)

The hubster and kids are fine...my boy has spring fever so bad..he is a senior this year and if I can just get him graduated it will be a huge sense of relief for me!! he couldn't give a rats you know what about school..he just wants to be out having fun..he is his dad all over again let me tell ya!! Ryan is just a happy healthy 18 year old with raging hormones and has my love of all things fun in the sun! he is either at the beach or out four wheeling or at a cookout or a bonfire or a party.. I love that he is having the time of his life as he should be at this age but we all have responsibilities and he has a hard time with that sometimes! Just please lord let the boy graduate and then he wants a year off before going into the Military... I have to say though his zest for life is contagious and a joy to behold..and one smile from him melts this mamas heart..;-)
My daughter got employee of the month for the second time in a year which earns her the privilege of parking right by the front door....I am happy that her job seems secure in this unsettled market...(she is a Customer support tech for AT&T....) hubster like I said is working the to do list..playing a lot of golf..enjoying his time with us before his next deployment... and me?? I am loving life and enjoying the joys of a Florida spring....I never take for granted this blessed life I have...sometimes I sit out on the deck in the evenings and shake my head that the skinny little brat from the high street in kidlington Oxford has all this....it is a great life for sure...

Enjoy your weekend and don't forget to set those clocks forward...

L xx

I wish spring was alittle more apparent here, still cool and drizzling rain. I can understand your son, it was so fun being that age. Best years of your life. I have been reading up a storm also.

I've read both of the Friday Evening Knitting club books Knit one and two and enjoyed them so much. I'm now reading the one about the River too. So far it is very inspirational. It is exciting being a senior. I remember those far off days - mine and my children's. So glad to hear of your 80 degree temps. That gives me hope...it will come our way eventually. Have a great Saturday! 'On Ya'-ma

Wonderful post Lyn, how I do love catching up with all your goings on! You surely do live a very interested and blessed life. Spring has sprung here for the most part I think. All the bushes have buds on them and things are sprouting out of the ground like crazy. Daffs are blooming and the birds are singing! It's lovely!

I am impressed with your daughter getting parking privileges at the door. WOW! That is pretty big stuff! Some of us working stiffs have to walk three to four blocks from where we can park to where we work. LLOL

It snowed here so I am jelous of your weather! I am also jelous of your hubby doing the honey do list. Mine gets scared and runs away if there is a list, so I have to give it to him one at a time.

I will have to get some of those books on your list, I recommend all books by Jane Porter!!!

Spring has reached us in CA too. I have had fun planting pansies in our patios this weekend.

I know all about senioritis!!! All of my seniors got it every year about this time. It really gets bad after spring break. My seniors always thought school was over in April and couldn't believe that I thought they should still do classwork until June. I hope your son will survive.... it is very very contagious!!!

Congrats to your daughter. She must be a great employee.

Have a good week. Hugs, Lura

I'm so glad that things are going so great for you all! Watching the kids graduate is an awesome thing. I remember my stepsons last year in high school---so fun! And now, years later, there both married & fathers and doing well.
Our weather was wonderful too, up until Saturday. Now it's cold and windy. I want my spring back...lol
Have a great week :)
Huggers, Gayla
PS: I never new that you were from Oxford....lol I was thinking it was somewhere else in the UK all these years. I'm so silly
