Good Morning Campers!!
I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason...I cannot tell you how happy I was when I received a phone call from one of the Dr's from the practice Wednesday lunch time....he told me that he is so sad that this happened that they feel as if there has been a death in the family...but from their point of view they are stuck between a rock and a hard place..they don't want to lose me but they can't afford to lose the Office manager...I told him I totally understand this...he went on to tell me that they had no idea that she was "blackmailing" us.. and that they will be looking into the matters I outlined in my letter....he went on to add that they sincerely hope that they get a chance to work with me again in the future and if for any reason "she" left would I consider coming back....I said yes.. later that evening one of my co workers that also gets picked on by the OM called me and told me she had been approached by the docs after the clinic closed and was given the opportunity to say whatever was on her mind with the promise of no repercussions..wow! she let them have it..she told them everything!! I am so happy she was able to do this...now they are waiting for the other co worker to come in tomorrow and they will be talking to her...she is going to validate pretty much what has already been pointed out...what this means for the OM I don't know but at least now the Dr's are aware of everything!! This was all I ever wanted..I knew the docs had no idea what was going on behind their back and the OM had forbidden us from talking to them...so at least now it is all out in the open and things can only be better from here on out...my job is done.. ;-)
I forgot to tell you the reason I wanted the day off in June is because we booked our family vacation ..we have a week on Myrtle beach!! it's got something for everyone..the beach for me..pools and amusement parks for the "kids" and Golf for the hubster!! we are staying in a condo right on the beach that is like a resort...it has been 5 years since our last vacation in the states..we usually just go to the UK..which is always fun but not really a vacation....we are so excited!!
Things on the home front are fabulous...hubby says he likes my new "attitude" it's called "happy" LOL....I went to the Commissary and spent $ 120 less than my last trip..I know how to cut back..I told you I would find a way to make up for my small salary and I am..we went to the Library too...so I'd say the savings are at about $170 already... ;-)
True Beauty has tonsillitis..she is on antibiotics...the magic mouthwash and Motrin...bless her..sucks having to pay your own medical...welcome to the world of co pays baby girl!!
We had our first major thunderstorm of the year last night..we got about 3 inches of rain judging by the pool level...heavy winds lots of lightening...it did kill the humidity though...we are supposed to have a pretty day once these clouds blow over...you know what that means huh?? yep an afternoon reading by the pool...;-)
Hubby is off golfing...I am off to do a little housework and plan tonight's supper..last night we managed to grill hot dogs and hamburgers before the storm came...

As someone who has managed medical practices, I understand what they are saying to a point, but a manager who "blackmails" her employees should be out the door. I'm sure they are saying: If she left will you come back? Because they are going to see if the issues you outlined are fact and then if they are, they are going to try to hire a new manager, but Rome wasn't built in a day.
I must say for me as a manager it once worked the other way, one of the doctors(1 of 6)did not like me as much as the other doctors, and in fact was getting old and wanted to be the manager(very odd & it didn't work when he tried it)instead of seeing as many patients. That doctor started approaching my employees asking them basically to carp about me. Oh nice....but with your manager that isn't the situation, and I am glad you took matters into your own hands. ~Mary
Like Mary said it will take time, but I think they want to do whats right for their practice and you just opened a flood gate ! We booked Myrtle Beach for August...darn. Would have been great if we were there at the same time.

That is....without a doubt....my VERY, VERY MOST FAVORITE SAYING IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD!!! It's SO very true and you are so very right. I am so glad you are feeling peaceful and calm because we only have ONE life to live....and we need to enjoy it as much as we can!!!

I'm SO GLAD that the drs. are finding out the truth!! It's a good thing you wrote that letter, and a good thing the drs KNOW you and trust you. I'm sure they'll be bringing you back one day!
I'm glad to hear all is working out for the best. Do enjoy that day at the pool. They are saying we could have snow tonight.
I'm glad the truth is coming out finally, and hopefully this will lead to better things for you in the future. That family vacation sounds great...have room for a few more? lol I'm glad you are happy again...enjoy the beautiful weather that is supposed to be coming your way!
I'm so sorry all this has happened at your job. At least the Docs know now. I'll bet they'll be calling you to offer you your job back SOON! I just hate office politics. Sheesh!

Isn't the work place great..NOT!! I have never regreted leaving my old job due to a scarily similar situation. All will work out for the best . Your holiday sounds great with everyones needs looked after. Hope your daughter in soon better. Louise xxx

Lyn, it is so good to hear you sounding much happier than you have done in months! It's patently obvious that a great load has been lifted!! I am so pleased for you!! (((hugs))) My ex husband used to go to Myrtle Beach every winter to golf. (we never ever had a vacation as a couple or as a family, but he did love his golf getaways!! No wonder he's now my ex!!) It's too bad that it had to come to this before the truth came out, but at least it has now and hopefully, things will be corrected. :) Sounds like a fab vacation, I wouldn't have wanted to miss it either.
Personally I hope the bad employee goes also as it won't get better, she will just get sneakier, I have seen it before and their practice will suffer for it. I can cut down to nothing when I have to also and I am sure your much happier being out of that situation.
Oh I have a feeling the wicked witch of the east... will be looking for another job soon!

I'm so glad that the Dr. called you & talked to your other co-worker. Maybe the OM will get what she has coming to her.

I'm glad that they called you and they know what is really going on!
We had an OM when I worked in the clinic in GA that had her "favorites" and the rest of us worked our rears off while they got off when ever they wanted too.

Wow gun you got lots of news there, lol. First off, i get what the docs are saying to a pt. I honestly think that OM should be fired by now. I know its not that simple though. Thats just not righ how she is still allowed to work there when she has blackmailed employees. I mean totally unprofessional. However its good though the docs are talking to
the other co workers and finding out more dirt on the OM.
Hopefully soon enough maybe the Oms butt will be fired, something will happen. I know it i am telling you ppl like that always get theres. Im glad they called you though Lyn and talked to you about all that, thats good. Anyhwo glad u all are enjoying the beautiful weather, well after the storm, lol. This is a wonderful thing you did for your old office friends. I know quitting was for you, but you opened the door for all the bad stuff to get aired out and for real change to happen! Bravo!
Interesting things afoot at the office... I hate lightening - it scares me. Here in HI there is almost no lightening, and I'm getting spoiled by it. I hope you enjoyed your lay by the pool. a little mini vacation in your own backyard. (staycation)

Oh I am so glad the doctors called and that they have spoken to you and are in the process of talking to other office staff! What a wonderful thing that they read your letter and are taking this issue seriously! I hope you enjoy your vacation on the beach... that is one thing I miss about Floria very much. Yes, staying home you can find ways to cut money. I work a little part time job from home and we are constantly saving money in little ways. I spent more when I made more money and worked full time for some reason.
