Good Afternoon campers!
How are we all today? Either alerts are down or you guys are all out enjoying some spring like weather because after being off line for 2 days I only have 78 alerts which is unusual....speaking of Spring we are having some strange weather here in Florida..yesterday it was 80 degrees..I took my first dip of the year in the pool and today only 62 degrees...brrrrrrr!!! I swear it is just chilly today..with the wind and the clouds it feels even colder than it is..very strange..air conditioner one day ..heater the next....
So what's new with me? I tell ya it's been a funny old week..my best friend Jen's son got in a spot of trouble with the law..I shan't go into details here but let's just say he had to go before the judge Thursday morning and is now on house arrest..it was my first experience with the US court system and I was very intimidated..it was Juvenile court and when we went before the judge they paraded these youngsters in in their orange jump suits and chains...scared the crap out of me..I am happy to say it did the same to Jens son..he gets sentenced this coming thursday.... I just hope he has learned his lesson...poor Jen was in a right old state...no one wants to get that phone call from the police telling you they have your kid in custody..I am glad I was able to be there for her..
Work was quiet because of only the one DR. but this week will be a nightmare..all the people wanting to see the other DR's now they are back..thank god for only having to be there 2 days....
Nothing much else to report...thinking of going to UK for a quick visit if flights aren't too bad for my dads birthday in May...I can't go for too long with hubby leaving and Ryan still in school but I would love to show up and surprise him for his 75th...
Well that's about it from me..I don't seem to have a lot to talk about these days..guess that's a good thing ;-)....I will leave you with my five..have a great week...
L
1. The warm sun yesterday..I actually got a little tan going on... always feel better with a little colour...
2.. Books..I have been a reading fool lately..I will write them down and put the list in my next entry....
3... Grocery shopping on base..I had tried going to Super Walmart just to compare..big mistake..spent about the same as always but got way less ...
4.... Yankee candle tarts...my house smells like watermelons!
5..... All of you as always....

A tan and a dip in the pool for you now...how wonderful...We still won't be able to do that til June around here. Pools and beaches usually open up Memorial day weekend. Have a good week - I hope it isn't too terrible for you ! 'On Ya' - ma
I sure hope you do go to the UK for your dad's Bday! What a nice surprise that would be for him. Sorry about your friends son getting into trouble. Maybe this will shock him a bit and he'll never do it again. Hope so.
Have a good week.

Great to hear about your lovely weather, weve had Snow,Rain,Hale Stones,Sunshine all in a week take alook at my photos on http:journals.aol.co.uk/richardson749/mayamay/ Love Helen
Hi Lyn, glad you had a dip today, at least someone's got nice weather. Back on now after a time away and have come back with the lurgy again. Not surprising after going to Yarmouth when it bloody snowed and was in a cold caravan too. Note here to myself not to go away in caravan in March to Yarmouth ever again. I know you have not been too well either but glad to see you are ok now. Hmm, candles sound divine. Hope you do make it over in May to surprise your dad, go on .... do it! Sad about your friend's son, I hope they are not too tough on him, if he is scared about it that is half the problem solved. Fingers crossed for him. Hugs, Tells x
It has to be 80 degrees or more for me to take a dip, LOL! Whoa! Hope you get a chance to go see your dad! Sounds like a great plan!

I'm glad you were there for your friend. No one should face that alone. Have a great week...I'm hoping we all get some nice spring weather soon. --Cin
I sincerely hope you get back to England for your dad's 75th birthday. I know if it was my 75th the best present would be having my children with me.
It's quiet in j-land. I know several who aren't writing at the moment to sort out problems - just as I'm doing too. The photos have to do the talking for the moment.

Hi Lyn,
Good to hear from you as always and lucky you with the weather, bring some over here if you get to visit your Dad for his 75th...and I really hope you do! Sorry to read about your friend's son, an awful time for them but as you say, it may have frightened him for good although not the best way to do it. Off to the south of France in a couple of weeks, you may get another postcard from me! Love, Pat http://journals.aol.co.uk/pm71blackfen/ramblings-from-pat/
Love to hear from you Lyn. You don't post near often enough! Loved your five as always. I am so lucky in that I never ever got that dreaded call. Kids . . . who'd have em!!! I did and quite happily so, even if there was never a dull moment! I think your dad would love you suprising him on his 75th!! I think anyone would! Don't work too hard this week!

Holy Crap! A kids in chains! That is scary stuff! I would just have a heart attack if I saw one of my boys like that so please give your friend Jen a huge hug from me! No mother should have to see that. I hope he and her are going to be ok.
Hope you get to see your Dad too! That would be an awesome surprise!
Have a great week.
Hugs

Oh yes, no asbo's over there! It's all cut and dry. I love your graphic as it is a very lovely version of the Goddess as a Crone. One can tell by the form of the moon she is holding. Very nice indeed. It was heaven over here in East Anglia yesterday. In the upper teens (C) and sunny with a light breeze. Everyone was working in their gardens. We just switched our clocks forward too.
Love,
Susie
The weather here is crazy as well. 80s last week now its in the 50s with rain! No wonder everyone is getting sick.
I hope you have a quiet work week ahead.
Prayers for your friend and her son!
Hugs,
Gretchen
I say.....Throw caution to the wind and head home for Dad's birthday! Number 75? Wow!
Glad you are doing well!

(((((Lyn)))))
You and I both having been reading fools...LOL. I'm listening to 3 audio books....all fantastic. And I'm reading (and you must read this, you would love it) "Beautiful Boy" by David Sheff. I get all my books from the library and it's not too often that I buy a book anymore. Maybe a couple of time a year. But Beautiful Boy is so well written and a sad/beautiful story. I'm also reading a book from one of my favorite authors Garrison Keillor called "Lake Wobegon Summer 1956". He has a whole list of books! They are all GREAT!
Now the audio book that is tops is the Anderson Cooper memior: "Dispatches From the Edge: A Memoir of War, Disasters and Survival". Besides "Beautiful Boy" it's one of the best books I've read in a long, long time! Oh, one more that's really good, but keep a dictionary handy (lol). It's called "The Emporoer of Ocean Park" by Stephen L. Carter. Also a great read.
Have a great MOnday and thank you luv for ALL of your support.
Biggest Huggers,
Gayla
Alerts are down. I'm not getting any either :(

Our weather has up and down like that lately too. Hopefully it'll settle on Spring temperatures soon. Glad to hear you're doing well. I hope you get to visit your family this May. What a wonderful surprise for your dad! Sorry to hear about your friend's son, but I agree -- perhaps this will scare him straight. Sometimes it takes something like that to put a kid on the right track. Take care! Hope you're having a great week.
Lori
A tan, I can't wait. The weather has been weird and cool here also. It is scary watching the court system at work. But hopefully it does.
