Good morning campers!
I really haven't been online much at all..this flu thing really knocked me off my feet...just left me so tired..I haven't felt like doing much of anything.. I was looking back in my archives and I used to write a lot more in my journal than I do nowadays..last March I did 31 entries this is my 3rd this month...I really must try harder....I have noticed my alerts are way down too..maybe it's the time of year..anyway I shall try to write more ;-)
It's St Paddy's day today although I've been told that the celebrations were held over the weekend so as not to have the drunken behavior occur during the holy week leading up to Easter... don't know if that's true or not... I did go for a drink with the girls from work Saturday night to celebrate the march birthdays at our office... speaking of which it is that time again MY BIRTHDAY tomorrow...don't know why but I am not looking forward to this one..46 sounds way to close to 50 to me and I just can't even fathom the F word and me in one sentence..where has the time gone? I still think of myself as young and crazy...a bit of a raver if you like...;-) Although my body is starting to let me know it's feeling it's age...minor aches and pains...more jiggly bits...and I actually scare myself if I look in the mirror upon waking...not a pretty sight...LOL.. not sure what we will do for my birthday..we have a staff meeting at work...yes I am doing a 12 shift on my birthday :-(... the cards are starting to trickle in..thanks to Lisa Jo for the beautiful card..you are such a sweetheart and never forget...my brother and sister and their partners and 6 other couples are all in Tunisia for a holiday so I don't expect to hear from them...I expect my dear old dad will give me a ring bless him...
The count down to the deployment for hubby and his squadron has started...I am not looking forward to him being gone again for 6 months..his trip last week showed him what his life will be like over there...he was pretty depressed..it was a reality check for him..no luxuries where he is going..there was a change in plans and he won't be actually in Iraq but very close by...they call it the "desert"..it is by no means any safer..in fact the base was hit while he was there....I am trying no to think too much about it...but it's always in the back of your mind.... he is due to leave the day before our 25th wedding anniversary....
On a happier not I got to do what I love best yesterday..sit out in the glorious sunshine on the deck and read and enjoy the back yard..everything is coming to life and it is so pretty out there..hubby cleaned the pool and it looked very tempting but way too cold for a dip yet... the pool temp was 60 yesterday...brrrrrrrrr..it won't take it long to warm up though..pretty soon our day time temps will be in the 80's and we get sun on the pool for at least 4 hours a day....
Well I guess I better go hit the shower and get to work...hope you all have a great week... I shall leave you with my five...
L
1. A new year ahead for me..what will I do with it???
2.. My boys are getting hitched this week...stop by their shower page and say hi...I am so happy for my Gaz xxxxxxx

We've dealt with being sick so much this winter, Feb. while Chad was gone all month I was sick for 2 weeks of it, really knocked me down and took a while to feel GOOD again. A friend of mine reminded me what a GOOD Army wife I am, getting sick while Chad was out in the field training so he didn't have to deal with it! ROFL!!! I planned it perfectly huh?! LOL
We're down to 2 months until Chad's gone for his 15 month deployment, not looking forward to it but we'll deal with it as we always do, we're going home for 6 weeks to see family and friends and plan to do a good amount of traveling around Europe, got to make the most of our time here with or without him!
God Bless
Christy
Happy Birthday to my favorite Chickie !! Age is just a number !! LOL But I sympathize with the aches and pains and jiggly body parts.
I hope your day is filled with surprises, (The good kind)
lots of love
E.
You are so fortunate to be enjoying the sunshine. Still lots of snow here. I'm hoping it melts by Easter. Hope you are feeling better from that flu bug. There has been alot of it going around. The SUN should help you for sure. 'On Ya'-ma

Hi Lyn very happy birthday for tomorrow ,So sorry the flue left you feeling so tired and run down perhaps you should get a tonic ,oh you must be viewing Lester's forthcoming trip with some apprehension,You never get used to it, do you ? A very Hppy St Patricks day to you ..love Jan xx
Happy half century to you and your jiggly bits. Fifty isn't so bad, fifty one is worse because it's kinda neither here nor there.
Best of luck to hubby, hope he stays safe.
B. x
I have missed you Lyn and am sorry to hear that you haven't been well. I think 46 is a hard birthday. It's like you are now closer to 50 than you are to 40. 50 was a breeze for me though. I mean by the time you are that old, what does it really matter! I hope you have a lovely day tommorrow. Don't think of yourself as getting older, just think of yourself as aging well. :-) You know, like a good wine or a fantastic cheese!
love,
Marie
Glad to see you back....I haven't been writing too much either....or getting alerts like before. Everyone must be busy with Life....
Have a blessed day & a great birthday tomorrow if I forget.
Michele
Always nice to see an alert come across from you. I too am turning 46 this year but am looking forward to turning 50. That way I can blame my craziness and the shape of my body on my age - She's just old. Enjoy your special day! Happy Birthday to You. Take care and have fun,
Katie
Nice to hear from you.....'Happy Birthday' for tomorrow.
Age is just a number, and there is nothing we can do about it....Enjoy!
Aileen....X
Sorry you haven't been feeling well, but HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!! I'm gonna be 47 in May....so I am even CLOSER to 50 than you! Go out, have fun and ENJOY!!!!
((hugs))
Jeanne
You have been sick for a while! I do hope you start feeling better!
Happy St. Patrick's Day today, and Happy Birthday for tomorrow!
Missie
Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and boy do I know what you mean about feeling older, sheesh. I'll be 48 my next b'day and I'm dreading everyone because that means 50 is only 2 years away for me. I'm glad that you are feeling better and isn't that great about Gaz and Pete??? I think it's wonderful. Maybe one day here in this GREAT nation (scowl) Cindy and I will be able to do the same thing and people not be so damned scared about it. Hugz* Teresa
I will pray for you to feel better and for your hubby and for everyone to be really safe tonight so that you don't have tonz and tonz of extra work tomorrow!
God bless-
Amanda
Glad you are feeling better. Happy Birthday...Sheila
I know your flu pain Lynn....this has been one of the worst I've had, I'm still not moving fast. Happy Birthday tomorrow, and it's okay being 50....I thought it would hurt more than it did, but it was okay. I think for me it was a wake up call about my health and what I need to do to make sure I see 60, ya know? You're as young as you feel sweetie, and hell, I say we're 30!!! :)
Pooh Hugs,
Linda
Have a happy birthday tomorrow! Awww how I love the Floridian Sun! My favourtie holiday place! So sorry your hubby has to go away for 6 months - he is doing a grand job and we are all proud of the soldiers! I hope he will be safe, him and his comrades.
Dont worry about not being on journals so much - it's just nice to hear from you when we do. I felt the same way I wasnt writing much and I wasnt getting many alerts either. But I tidied up my alerts list and got up to date and I feel a bit better now. But, it's for you to write in when you feel like it!

Russ
It's got to be hard having someone you love be gone so long and be so far away. What is it with you Brits celebrating St. Patrick's Day anyway? LOL Take care and Irish you'd get better soon.
Phil
that flu is horrible.. hangs on forever. Glad you're bouncing back.
hugs

I'm sure that once you get over this sickness you will be back to your normal happy camper self! : ) And we will be graced with plenty of entries. Happy St. Patrick's Day.
Allison
My whole house is sick with it and now we have that lingering cough that drives you insane and your stomach aches like you have been doing 1000 sit ups in a few seconds!!! I can't wait till all are well around here. Sorry to hear that your hubby will be deployed A DAY BEFORE!!!! your anniversary! That is horrible! I hope you are able to celebrate early.
It's that time of year for sure, people want to enjoy the good weather when we get that first sample. :-)
My son will be in the Persian Gulf soon, right now he's out to sea for a month. I don't know about being gone 9 months - I miss him terribly during his last two stint, now a month and soon nine. ::sigh::
Right before your anniversary huh? I hope you two celebrate before hand.
Wishing you the best,
Monica

I was just about to put feelers out for you again...
I think you should write when you feel like writing. I'm just sorry this past absence is due to you being sick and not because you were out whooping it up! Of course we MISS you, but, hell you live in FOOKIN' FLORIDA!
So I'm confused... first of all, Didn't Hubby just get HOME? It seems like last month or something... But secondly, I didn't know that Navy guys had bases on land. I mean I know they DO but it's usually next to the water where the ships are, isn't it? Does the desert come all the way up to the water over there? Am I being stupid? Why isn't he going to be on a ship??
Ok, I'm falling asleep...
nite...
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
So glad to see a post and a happy birthday to you!! Prayers for hubby's safe and speedy return to you!! Happy St Paddy's Day!
Lisa

Happy 46th! I'll turn 48 on Wednesday. We old girls should be able to get together and celebrate. Now, you go get over the flu thing (it knocked all of us down and I am still having annoying coughing fits dammit) so you can party the Birthday.
(I didn't get an alert for this...hmmmm. going to re-do my 'lerts right now.)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!! Wishing you many many more!
Well, welcome back! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY! When I was in my Forties, I always said I was Forty-ish. Hmm, now that I'm fifty, I still say I'm Forty-ish. Have a wonderful B'day!
hugz, Bethe
Happy belated bday :) I hope that you start to feel better soon.
Many prayers for the upcoming deployment!
Hugs,
Gretchen
Happy belated Birthday. Many people have been taking a break from journals, myself included. Sometimes it can just get on top of you and you need to stand back for a while. Hope you feel better soon.

Happy belated birthday............ I hope your days are great........ hugs, Sherry
happy birthday first time i read your journal will swap your weather with what i just woke to here in Norfolk,UK 2 words bloody cold lol take care mort.
Didn't get an Alert for this, I just happened by.
Lyn, you're a big wuss. 60 degrees too cold!! Where's your British stamina and backbone???? You don't get the sea that hot here in the middle of a heatwave. Get in there girl!!!
Hate to hear Hubby has to go for six months and the day before your Silver Wedding, what crap timing. I'm dreading my son going for his next trip out in his submarine, which won't be too long now. What really worries me is the fact that he had a hand in rebuilding it!!! I've seen some of his car repairs!!
Life isn't easy is it? But I hope all went well for Gaz & Phil, bless them.
Linda xx.
