Day Four

Something you have to forgive someone for...

I need to forgive the man that stole my trust and innocence...I was 11 he was 60...he was a very well liked member of the community..a very talented Guitar player and worked with my Dad...I was sent to him for guitar lessons..he taught me how to play steel guitar..he played in a band and I did a couple of gigs with them...he molested me..he fed me vodka ..gave me cigarettes..set his dog on me if I tried to get away...he showed me magazines and said he wanted to do those things to me...he terrified and intrigued me all at the same time..he made me feel so powerful and special but also dirty and ashamed...he wrote a song about me..then he said he was going to take me away in his van and I was scared he wouldn't bring me back...I started skipping Guitar practice ..I went to the park and just sat then went home...I finally told my parents when he said the two even younger little girls next door wanted to learn to play the Guitar..I may have saved them but I know I saved myself....

He is dead now and I forgave him but I can't forget....

Thankfully you were able to save yourself and possibly others too. It's almost unbelievable how much of this goes on and young people need to know they are not the ones at fault and how to protect themselves too.

I'm sorry that you had to endure this type of treatment as a child. I'm glad you found the strength to end it and possible future harm to other innocent young girls.

Sometimes as little girls we grow up much too fast at the hands of those we're supposed to trust. I'm so sorry you endured this. I am glad you had the courage to tell, so that someone else wouldn't get hurt.

I am sorry you had to go through that. I was almost in a similar situation once. I was able to get myself out of the situation. Not to ever get back in it. It's usually someone you know that the parents trust too.

I had my world messed up at a young age too. So glad we both survived!
