Good Morning Campers!!!
And I bet a few of you are actually camping this morning huh?? seeing as it is a Bank Holiday in the UK and Memorial Day here stateside...first and foremost I would like to remember our service men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice giving their lives for our freedom...I would also like to thank all our Veterans past and present...especially my own hubby who has 26 years under his belt and is still Active Duty....and a special shout out to all the Military spouses out there for your support!
So...this Blogger thing...it's dying a slow death huh?? while it's sad I will continue to write because as much as I love all the comments this Blog is for me..it's my way of keeping a "record" of what's going on in my little neck of the woods...anyone who wants to know what you are doing every second of every day go to face book...to be honest I don't really get it...I will write a blurb here and there but do I feel the need to tell you every time I take a breath..go to the loo or drink a cup of coffee...not so much!! LOL.... and all the poking..the gifts..the surveys..who the hell has the time?? not to mention how it slows up the computer....but to those of you addicted fair play to you...to each their own... I am happy I have face book because at least it lets me know that you are all alive and well..but well I just miss everyone writing more than just one liners... :-(
It has been a soggy and miserable week here in Florida..it has rained every single day since last Sunday...we have had more than 12 inches of rain..our yard is a soggy mess..water seeped under the foundation of the garage and it smells so nasty in there....I think I know now why Florida has no basements...they would have been swimming pools for sure....as someone who has become accustomed to spending her afternoons out by the pool or puttering around the garden I have been going stir crazy....I have watched way too much stupid TV..I have been in a foul mood so has him indoors...because if he's indoors that means he's not playing golf either....;-) Anyway it was long week and I am happy to report that the sun was out for a couple of hours yesterday and there is hope for a couple more sunny hours today...YAY!!
Ryan graduates Friday...(fingers and everything else crossed) True Beauty is Employee of the month for the third time in 14 months...the dog was neutered..we did this so my FIL can watch him while we go on vacation as they have a female Yorkie....he did fine and I was very impressed with the nice folks at Clay County Animal Hospital....hubby had part 4 of his Periodontal work done...didn't improve his grumpy mood much but he is all healed now and back to eating normally...I am looking forward to our Vacation on Myrtle Beach next month...I know some of you think my whole life is a vacation but trust me a change of scenery is always nice... ;-)
That's about it in a nutshell...enjoy your holiday today and I guess I'll see you on face book!! ;-)

I agree with you about Facebook. Oh, I type in a one-liner every once in awhile, but the poking and surveys and such I would gladly do without. In face, I ignore most of those.
I agree with you about this place dying a slow death, but I love it too. I do FB, but it's really not my thing either. I'm really hooked on Farmtown over there. I sure miss all the bloggers too.
Tell your hubby thanks for all he has done & will continue to do for all the rest of us!
I also know what you mean about the rain. It's in the forcast for all the way through Fridsay. Arrrrgh I think that's part of the reason I'm is such a foul mood too. I need sunshine.
My first cousin is at Myrtle Beach right now with her family. They are having the time of their life.....sunshine, ocean, sand, etc.....
Our little corner of the blogosphere has been soooo dead lately! I do facebook and I enjoy it... but I miss the blog stories! I'm still blogging... and I guess people are reading... but nobody feels the need to comment any more, for whatever reason. I've started reading some new blogs... just to feed the addiction.
Hope you have a great day!
*hugs*

Hey Lyn, Funny you should say that. I see that the blogs I do follow, not a whole lot of them post entries anymore. I am not on Facebook, or myspace. I barely can keep up here, I do blog for me though. It's just to keep a record of my life and days. It's nice to get comments, and I do get a few. I'll be here probably forever! have a great day.

I certainly hope you give your husband something, err, nice today, to thank him & all :-0.
I don't "do" Facebook or Twitter because they seem teenage-ish. And I don't even want to update my life all the time FOR ME, let alone for someone else. I do not, however, feel like blogging is dying. In fact I read an article about it being on the upsurge. I've found so many new blogs on blogger, wordpress, etc. with such fantastic writing that I am reading a lot more now than I used to on AOL journals. ~Mary
I am a die hard blogger. I don't think I'll ever give it up. I Just love it so much. I have noticed though that my readership is dropping, which could be because more people are twittering or facebooking, I don't know! As long as I have words in me I am blogging. I miss all my friends on AOL though. Hardly hear a word from most of them anymore. I hope you keep it up! XXOO
I have FB...but it just seems kinda boring to me, I love Blogger...I ,like Mary have found so many new blogs it keeps it exciting for me on blogger I guess...making new friends...but I still read many from Jland as well...I think alot of us just need breaks from blogging from time to time...especially now that spring/summer is here...
A huge "Thank You" to your husband for serving our Country!
Have a great day...
Hugs Terri
First.. Thank you to your hubby, and to you, for his service!!
I love blogging, I'm also on FB and Twitter, but don't spend alot of time there... and definitely can do without all the little surveys, gift sending, etc. But I DO HOPE blogging comes back to life after the thrill of FB and Twitter wear off (and it will, they are basically pretty boring after you do a quick daily update). I think blogging is so much more personal, and I intend to continue blogging for quite awhile!!
Its soo good as always to see a blog post from you hun ;) A BIG ty to your hubby & to all the men & women who serve & have served for our country & military spouses too. Im so grateful for all the sacrifices you all make. I get what you totally mean about fb hun. I feel funny that i have to comment on every little thing i do, haa, lol. I try not to though.
FB is so plain & boring to me. I dont care of all the quizzes, surveys & apps really. They kind of annoy me, lol. But to each their own, lol. I like fb only as a good way to keep in touch, but yes like you i love reading about ppls lives more on blogger. Thats rain here has been crazy too. it sounded awful though where you all are. I hope it all dries up & soon. Hope the rain calms down for a bit at least. I can imagine both u and hubby go stir crazy, lol. I do too. Hopefully it wont rain as much and u all can enjoy the outdoors. Thats great Ryan graduates on Friday yeah. Congrats to True beauty on employee of the month agian thats awesome. I definetly think the vacay next month will put you all in good spirits. You will have a blast for sure. Have a great day hun. ttys xo
I made a facebook account the other day, and deactivated it the same day...ha. I hope the sun comes out long enough for you to enjoy Memorial day. It's raining here too, but hopefully it will stop long enough to grill out. My daughter graduated Thursday, her friend flew down from Washington state and they went to my parents yesterday. Take care, Sheila
I agree about Facebook, its impossible to keep up with all that stuff. For me, facebook is dying a slow death and i will always come back to my blogs, they tell much more than tiny blurbs. And what is the function of poking people anyway? LOL I have no idea what thats for, still there are a couple of people I am forever poking and they poke me back but why???? Ha ha I dont know.
I'm a dye hard blogger, but I notice some people dont blog but once a year or somehting like that and I wonder, should I just take them off the list? They are taking up space and I could be getting updates from people that do blog more often. I am more of a once a week blogger I think, more my speed.
Tell your hubby I said THANK YOU!!! For being a military guy and protecting us these years! And thanks to you to! The fantastic military wife! He couldnt do it without you!!!!!!!!
i just realized I wrote "dye-hard" instead of "die hard" ha ha ha
You are right it is very qiet on here just now don't know what is wrong. I have just joined facebook no impressed at all but it give me something to play with on a rainy day of which there is many just now in Scotland. Keep writing. Love Joan.
I am sad this place is drying up with the people that came from AOL. I was hoping it would be the same. I am staying of course. better or worse, LOL. Jimmy and you guys are here.
Happy Memorial day to you and your family, many thanks to you and your husband for all the sacrifices you've made to keep us all safe (him for being in such dangerous situations, and you for keeping things going at home so he can do this for all of us).
I'm glad you'll stick with the blogging...I would miss you if you stopped. I was hooked on FB to begin with but now I'm hardly ever on there. I check in to see new pictures of friends or family but that's about it.
Congrats on your son graduating and your daughter getting employee of the month...all good news!
I'm sure you all will have a wonderful time on vacation...and you're right, we all need a change of scenery...and a break from all the housework!
(almost forgot to mention I almost peed myself when I read that comment you left about the electric toothbrush...what did he think that noise was anyway?, lol...hilarious!)
xoxo, Heather
I FB, but I love blogging better...glad someone said it...one liners not my thang...not too bad with the rain here in SWFL, cuz we are getting morning sunshine..it's nice to see our lake filling up again...hugs!
I'm a blogger addict. I'll stay here and keep on blogging until blogger is no more!
I had Facebook and Twitter but I just didn't like it.
Have a good week!
Just my luck ... I lurk about for a year and then finally start blogging and everyone jumps over to Facebook and Twitter..
Face book is where I go to see what my family are up to ,other than that I dont really get it ,Nothing wrong with blogger its the alerts I miss ,(I am ashamed to say I forget to go to my dashboard )with alerts they were there to be aswered ,then it motivated you to follow on with an entry ...love Jan xx
Have fun in Myrtle Beach! I am from about 2 hours south in Charleston.
Oh and I totally agree that I have a bit of a British sense of humor (humour) ;)
Tell your hubby thank you for her service. And thanks to you for being a supportive wife to him so that he can do his job.
It really is quiet out here in blogger. I've stopped posting so much, too. I won't be leaving though. Hope you don't.
Pam
I try to come here but I am addicted to facebook....missing the AOL journals!
Tell your husband a belated thank you from our family :)
We are having more and more rain here too. I hope our garden doesn't flood away!
Have a great day :)
Hugs,
Gretchen
I'm a true blog lover for sure. I'll keep on just like you. My son and your hubby are two very special people in my eyes along with many others. He now has 19 years in for his country. I'm very proud of him and all those serving our country. A trip to the beach sounds so good. The rain moved into Ohio today and is supposed to be around a few days now.
I think those who jumped ship to fb and twitter and suchlike will get fed up with it and come back to blogging. I did used to have fb on my PC but found FB wanted to know more personal info than I wanted to give so I got rid.
When aol closed its journals lots of J/landers came over here but didn't really give it a good go. They seemed to have made up their minds in advance not to like us. Then they went and called their blogs something else - their friends couldn't find them!
Personally, I like to read about other people's lives and times and I find it much easier to do that on Blogspot than on aol. So thanks, Lyn, for being the person you are and for letting us peek in at your life.
And if anyone wants to come on over to mine and make friends with some of MY friends you'll be welcome.
love, Angie, xx

well I enjoy the blogs...and altho I don't post an entry every day...I so enjoy reading where folks are in their lives...potty breaks....pool breaks....LOL...wherever and whatever...and alot of folks want me to be their friend on facebook...but I haven't gone there...have an account...but just don't feel led to do much with it LOL...and yes Gary said...he is beginning to "pucker" it is so soggy wet!!!! LOL...anyway..hang tough with us Lyn...I would miss you if you went away!!!! hugs..Ora
A big thank you right back to you and your DH.
That twitter is worse than facebook, I hear. I like facebook to keep in touch with my real life friends - they don't even know about my blog! Plus I'm addicted to the stupid games like pathwords. I don't really do the other junk.
I like Facebook only because my kids use it and their friends use it and I'm glad they still like to 'hang' with me. As for blogging, I'm not sure why I'm struggling with it at this point in time but I still give it a shot every now and then. I may end up starting a new place because there is so much of me at the old one. I'm still having an internal debate about it all. Give your hubby a salute for me.
