Good morning campers!!
I have had a pleasant week so far...Monday and Tuesday I worked at the clinic...yesterday my new washer and dryer were delivered...YAY! the pool liner is in..the pool is filled..the chemicals are perfect...I must post before and after pics..now that I have figured out how to post pics...;-)
It's cool here..but still lovely and sunny although today they are calling for rain...not much to report really from my neck of the woods but that's okay with me...I am enjoying nesting in my house...been reading a lot as usual and just generally puttering around... looking forward to hubby coming home in a few weeks..yes I can say weeks now as opposed to months... ;-) it will be so nice to not be "single" anymore..I miss having him to mooch around with on the weekends...it'll be nice to have someone to go out to dinner with..go to the pub with...browse the garden centre etc...funny what you miss really...
I was playing around on YouTube last night and found so many songs from my past..isn't it amazing how a song can transform you back to a time a place..some were good some not so much! I must confess to shedding a few tears last night watching Eva Cassidy's version of "Somewhere over the Rainbow".. if I knew how I would share it with you here...that's one of the songs played at my Mums funeral... her birthday is coming up..maybe that's why I found myself watching last night...I miss you Mum...
Well let me get off here.. I am rambling.. I will leave you with my five good things...
1. New appliances!!
2.. Autumn Leaves candles from Yankee...
3... Cooler temps and open windows...
4.... Anticipation...
5..... Memories...
have a great day....

for me
I'm so sorry that your Mum is gone....{{{Lyn}}, I will share mine with you anytime you wish. I love that song too....what a beauty that classic is.
I'm glad your temps are better down there...Mandy is loving them too, and just in time for my visit! WHOOHOOO! Isn't is funny how we take small things like being able to open the window for granted? I run the air all summer and I forget how nice a breeze coming through the window feels.
Glad hubby is on the way home, and it really gives you something to look forward to...I'm sure he will love being missed :)
Pooh Hugs,
Linda
You do have something good to look forward to. Your hubby being home again is so great. Looking back the time has gone fast, but not fast enough for you I know. Now I'll have to look for that candle...Autumn leaves...sounds interesting. 'On Ya'-ma
The candle sounds yummy and I can almost smell it. I am glad your hubbies getting back soon. It has been a long time. I hope they have his assignment figured out. It is already too cold for open windows here. Darn.
Lovely things to be thankful for and remember. I will always remember my visit from a J-Lander yesterday, our first actual meeting. I posted pictures on my blog.
Yeah for it being weeks! That's gotta feel better! Hang in there! Love the thankfuls.
At last, I'm in. Love the colour of your new blog!

Certain times of the year also have me looking back to my Dad's time with us. LOL and I am also counting weeks now til Paul gets home. He's supposed to be back by Thanksgiving. I miss having another adult around to talk with. And to cook for.. I have all these new recipes and my kids won't eat.. so I am waiting til he gets home.
Hey Girl! There are 2 times of year I really love Florida after the hotness of summer backs off. It's sooo nice opening the window and doors and letting the fresh air in. I love the song "Somewhere Over The Rainbow". I always cry when it is played. And what a lovely idea playing it at a funeral. I'm so glad hubby is coming home soon. Hugsss...
Enjoy your evening!
Yay for the washer and dryer!!! And yay cant wait to see pool pictures!!! Awwww I bet you do miss him - it is hard when you go out and do stuff withour your man. Glad its only weeks now for you!

Hubby & I were reminising about old songs the other evening, and we were looking at youtube too, finding old songs...you're right, it does take you back to days gone by and every song brings a memory - some nice, some not lol
'Somewhere over the rainbow' is a beautiful song, we had this song play at baby Laila's funeral. So touching and in our circimstances, sad.

I know how difficult it is when your missing your mom. I know.
You have a handsome boy there (prior entry)
Hope you enjoy the pool still, cant wait for pictures.
Hugs.
You are so right! Music is a great memory jogger isn't it - along with smells! You know when you get a whiff of something and it reminds you of a time or place from long ago BC (before children!!)
And there is nothing like a new applicance to make me smile too! Second only to handbags!! In fact I think I did a whole journal entry on my new fridge when I got it earlier this year....lol...
Have a great weekend chookie!
Hugs

The best thing I love about having an iPod is downloading the older songs, songs that I grew up listening to and those that were "classics" when I was growing up. I absolutely LOVE the Yankee Candles!
I hope you are having a nice weekend beautiful. ; )
Only weeks left huh! I am sure you are both counting down the minutes!!
