Here I am....

Good Morning Campers!!!

  Been a few days. A good few days. My bestest friend is here..;-) I can't tell you how nice it is to have her here..to have someone who knows you almost as well as you know yourself here in the flesh to share your daily life with...to just be yourself with..to laugh till your belly hurts with.. to just look at and smile...and "be"...we are having a blast and I am in hog heaven... :-)

Work. Busy day. Got it over with...nuff said.

Tuesday................

Di's plane was due into Sanford at 3.45 PM. I got up early and went to the base to do some grocery shopping. Whilst inside the Commissary the sky's opened and the storms started. Now I was in a panic. ...I hate driving in the rain.... I hate driving in the rain on the interstate even worse. ...called hubby he says he can't get off work to drive with me .. when I get home I ask Ryan to check online to see if maybe Di's flight was delayed because of the weather..NOPE...it's EARLY...now getting in at 2.20!! I was nowhere near ready.. I still had all the groceries to put away and needed to make up her bed with fresh linens..do some last minute cleaning...you talk about racing around like a mad woman..meanwhile there are Tornado warnings on the TV....we decided I should leave right away so I left Ryan with a list of stuff to do and headed out...it was a nail biting steering wheel gripping ride through heavy downpours and high winds but I made it there just as her plane was landing! Perfect timing...now I haven't seen di since my trip home last summer and as you know she has been through chemotherapy and radiation and I really didn't know what to expect looks wise..so every woman that came through the gates that resembled her i was ready to grab..LOL... all these people are coming through and no di..I swear she was the last one off! finally she comes through and she looks totally different...her hair is short and sassy and a different colour...a nice rich reddish brown....but she looks fabulous and it was such a huge relief to see her looking so well..we had a big old hug right there in front of everyone and then jump in the car and head home..we chatted the whole way home and the trip seemed to take half the time...we have had such a good time catching up..she bought everyone presents..and we got some British goodies that we can't get here.. hula hoops, twiglets, picnics, wine gums, Murray mints, Cadbury chocolate eclairs and of course tea bags..;-)

Wednesday

I had to work but I knew di would be jet lagged anyway so no biggie...the weather has been awful..can you believe it? major rain and thunder storms and tornado warnings all day yesterday... it looks more promising today though..hopefully we can get some time by the pool and if not there is always shopping... ;-)

I am not even attempting to keep up with alerts and comments...I am making the most of having a real life friend here...LOL..I will pop on here and there but if you don't hear from me just know I am having too much fun!
