Good Morning Campers...

I have put some pics up for your viewing pleasure..as always view them larger... ;-)
We had a very nice quiet family christmas this year..Lester's dad and his wife joined us and the meal was wonderful
We had:
Turkey and stuffing
Roast potatoes
Roasted vegtables
Yorkshire pudding
cauliflower cheese
Corn
Rolls
turkey gravy
Christmas pud and custard
Pumpkin Pie

We actually had to wake the kids this year.. after drinking a couple of cups of coffee me and hubby switched on all the animated toys lying around that play really cheesy Christmas music really loudly...LOL it soon got them up...they seemed to be happy with their pressies..true beauty got clothes and jewelry..perfume and a new TV ..Ryan got a play station 3 and a couple of games ..some t shirts jeans etc..The hubby got golf attire..and a counting machine for his coins..he loved i knew he would...LOL he got gift certificates too..I got a gorgeous Tiffany necklace to add to my tiffany collection.that means I have 2 items now..;-) I got a case for my IPOD and a a dock to play it on my car radio..have to figure that one out.. I got a new fish tank for the fish..it is a larger fish hugging a bowl..wonder what Fin will make of that..I got a couple of gift cards too and Ryan got me a new fairy...all in all we made out like bandits and the kids were happy and that to me is what makes the day...kids smiling from ear to ear..sitting round the table reminiscing about christmas past..talking fondly of the ones no longer with us...it truly was a blessed day...
I was off on Boxing day...so I just puttered around the house tried to organize the piles of stuff everywhere...went back to work yesterday just for the morning to make sure the new girl is coping on her own..there is only one DR. working so she should be able to cope...but I feel better going in and making sure all the RX"s etc are dealt with...
The sadness that is in J Land right now is understandable. Not only did we lose two J landers I actually lost 2 others..the assistant principal at Ryans school succombed to cancer Christmas day and my hubby lost one of his sailors to a motorcycle accident sat. night. It is uncanny to me so mnay deaths together.
For me though it is reminder to love harder..live each day to it's fullest..enjoy this life here on earth while we have it...take nothing or no one for granted...I intend to do just that for Lahoma and for Kim..that is what i feel they would want us to do...you can bet I will toast a drink to them on New years!!
have a great day today...

Never a truer word spoken, Lyn... as my granny would have said! You are right. It makes us realise just what we do have and not to take a moment for granted.
Glad you had a good Christmas day. I completely agree with you on how I rate the day too! If the kids are happy then I am happy! It funny now they are getting older, different, but still fun.
Happy New Year my friend - lets hope 2008 holds lots of happiness for all of us!

There has been so much loss... I pray those that are in the midst of it know that the Lord is there to comfort them... the Ultimate Healer... He knows all our pain and how to ease our aching hearts.
God bless-
Amanda
I couldnt see the pictures and I was very bummed about it!!!!
I think your pictures are wonderful and the menu sounded grand. No snow in the background, how wonderful. I haven't heard about the losses in J-land yet. Well have to make the rounds. How sad.

Me too... with the death's. Aunt Edith, Mr Jim, and my cousin from Delaware called last night to let me know his best friend EVER finally succumbed to HIV yesterday. (he was diagnosed in 93 so he gave it a good run for it's money). It's kinda creepy, isn't it. I don't remember a Christmas season like this ever plagued with so much death...
PS is that the bridge you cross every day to go to work?
Where's the pictures of you on the bull?
Your house is just gorgeous!
NO SHIT!

I love the tradition of wearing the crowns.... It's great, and so cute!! :) Everyone looks happy in all your pictures--happy & healthy--that is all that matters! :) Julie
Ha. I don't own a curtain & my rug has lots of stains on it! If I were house jealous, I'd get to work on this place after seeing your home. It is very lovely :-).
Your attitude amongst the recent deaths is much healthier than mine. I started thinking about trying to love less. ~Mary
You all look like you had a great time. Happy New Year Love Louise xx

Hi Lyn! I just came back to look at the pics and want to know what's with the crowns at dinner? I've never seen that before! Explain please? Love you!
Your house looks so beautiful! And you looked beautiful in your black dress! It looks like a wonderful holiday!
Why do you guys wear crowns?
Pam
love the paper crowns
I am so glad you had a nice Christmas!! Sounds like everyone received so many nice beautiful gifts!! Your Christmas menu sounds just yummy!!! I've been wanting to try Yorkshire pudding all of my life. Sounds so delightfully traditional as though no Christmas table should ever be without it. I would like to learn how to make one. Maybe you can share a favorite recipe for it. Perhaps I have read too much Charles Dickens. He is such a favorite author of mine. Wow a Tiffany item... two of them!! Girl you are so blessed!!! LOL I am still chuckling about the comment you left me on "Lost you after the Bible codes" LOL ROTF LOL you are so funny sometimes!!!! Hope you have a very blessed 2008 and oh how we will miss our J landers. So sorry to hear about the principal and sailor too. Too much loss all at one time. You are right, we must live cheerfully and be happy and do our best to make the most of each and every day.
Lisa
