FINALLY A POST FROM ME!!

Good Morning Campers!!!

It has been too long since my last update. So much has been going on..I don't even know where to start...Lester's dad is still hanging on..why I don't know..he has said he is ready to go..he has been baptized..he gathered all his children from all over the world and said his goodbyes...yet he continues to hang on...he is weighing in around 100lbs.he doesn't eat much..he can hardly stand on his own...spends most of his days in bed...all of his children have gone home now..they all said their goodbyes..it was so sad and so hard to watch but it had to be done...I know it was especially hard for my hubby to leave knowing the next time he sees his dad will be at his funeral. I do understand that is exactly what happened to me with my own mum. I continue to go visit with my father in law most days...I sit with him if his wife has errands to run. In a way it has been an honour to be with this sweet kind man as he faces the end of his incredible life..I have posted a pic of him above...

In happier news it was fabulous to have hubby home for 2 weeks..we had a blast and made the most of our time together even if the reason for his visit was so difficult... hubby did a lot of the piddly little jobs that I had on the honey- do list..we also got started on the garden..I have now re-potted all my hanging baskets...weeded and and planted my flower beds..replaced a couple of ferns that did not survive the winter...and I am happy to say it has finally warmed up enough for me to spend some happy afternoons reading out by the pool...it will be a long time before I will be swimming though..we have had an exceptionally long winter this year and our temps are well below normal for this time of year...

I had another birthday..I am now the ripe old age of 48!! I cannot believe I am that old..I certainly don't feel any older although my body is starting to feel it...lol..it was a quiet birthday...but I got to skype with my family in the U.K. and spoke with hubby on the phone and went out to dinner with the "kids"..had my favourite Mexican food and a couple of Mango margaritas..I got a lovely necklace from my daughter and a gift certificate for a Pedicure which I am long overdue for...

I have missed writing in my Blog and hope to get here more often...not sure how many people even read anymore although it still says I have 181 followers!! I notice my dashboard has fewer and fewer updates on it too...

Hope everyone is doing well..and that Spring is finally making it's way to your neck of the woods...it is amazing how good a bit of sunshine is for the soul!!

Have a great weekend!!

L xx

How grand it sounds for you to be by the pool and working with your flowers too. It is hard saying goodbyes but so nice your FIL is able to do so with all his family. It is not a choice we all get. None of us knows how long we'll live, but it sounds as though he has had a good life. I got another year older at the beginning of March but you are still so young so don't let that age matter. I didn't start feeling old at all till well after I turned 60.

Happy Birthday and welcome back !

My grandpa was ready to die, but somehow didn't for a few months. All he wanted to do was die, but it was delayed.

We were all relieved for him when it actually happened because he was so angry that he didn't go when he wanted to.

Happy Birthday!
We've had a week of super nice unseasonal weather. Unfortunately, today is the last of it, but I started working on my herb garden!

Good to hear from you and catch up on the happs in your life. My thoughts and prayers are with your FIL. Sad as the reason was, glad you got to spend some unexpected time with hubby and hope the warm weather sticks around.
Its Autumn here but you wouldn't know it as the weather is still so warm we still need the air con on everyday! But since I hate the cold, I'm not complaining.
Hugs from Down Under...xxx

Mango margaritas. Now you're talking. YUMMY. Glad you had a great celebration on your birthday. Here's to many more. It's a good thing your hubby got to say goodbye to his dad and that you had some quality time together before there had to be a funeral. Glad you can escape for a few hours each day... into the pages of a good book.

So sorry about your father in law. What a difficult time for him and his loved ones. While I'm happy that your husband was home for two weeks, I'm sorry it had to be under such sad circumstances.

Happy belated Birthday! Spending time with your kids that day...what better gift could a mom receive?

I'm still here plugging away at reading blogs and keeping my own up.

I always think it's better to lose someone fast, without notice. To watch someone slowly die is heart breaking. I think it's great you spend time with him.

Have a good week and keep us updated.

I'm so sorry about your FIL, but glad that his family all got to say a proper goodbye. And I know it was good for you to have your husband home for a while. It has been a very long winter here as well, and I can't remember when I have been so glad to see spring get here.

48 isn't old! I am 51 and sure don't feel it!
I hope your FIL passes away peacefully when he is ready. Lovely to know all his family has had the chance to say goodbye to him.

I know when my mother-in-law was last in the hospital her daughters were totally worn down and at odds about who would stay with her at night. Hubby arranged it so that I could stay. I'll never forget that special, beautiful time together.

And you are not 48, you simply celebrated your 24th anniversary of your 24th birthday. ;o)
