CHRISTMAS 2009

Good Morning Campers!

Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas..the few of you who blogged about it seemed to have a wonderful time and I just spent a very pleasant half hour reading and looking at your holiday pics..this year was the first Christmas that I did not spend with hubby..every other year he managed to get to wherever I was...even the times he was deployed on a ship he would fly to England and meet me...I always went back to England for the holidays if he was away....I guess this year it was not meant to be..we did however have a wonderful day..the kids are older now and so they are better company and I did not feel lonely at all..his dad and his wife came round for the day and all in all it was very pleasant...I am very proud of the kids who bought me some really cool gifts and made sure Mum was not forgotten...I got gift cards to Yankee candle and Booksamillion...a pair of candle wall sconces and matching clock for the family room...socks..boots...ear rings..scarf..book mark..and a clip for my keyring that attaches inside your handbag...I was spoilt!! the kids got quite a bit too...not that it's all about the presents but there is nothing like the joy of giving and I think my kids finally got that this year..they couldn't wait for me to open my gifts...

Hubby called Christmas Morning from Iraq..and sent us some pics..including the on above...he said he has a lot to be thankful for after spending just a few days there...he will be back in Guam on the 29th...

Anyway..just wanted to write about our Christmas...it may have been different but it was as always FABULOUS!

Bring on the New Year!!

Merry Christmas! You have been in my thoughts and prayers this holiday. You can be proud of your hubby. Such dedication is to be applauded. We don't hear enough about the wonderful brave men and women serving in the military so far from home. They are doing their best for us and deserve our thanks! I too feel that although Christmas is not about the gifts, it really does make me feel good to give them. Our families do make Christmas special. I've been alone now for 17 years but each one of them has been blessed by my children. Merry Christmas!

I'm so glad that even though hubby couldn't be with you and his family that both you and he were able to make the best of it. Sounds like you had a very nice Christmas with your kids! :)

Lyn, It is very nice when the "kids" start seeing Christmas as a time of giving and not just recieving..That's when we know they are growing up:)
