the trip...

Good morning campers...

I am so frustrated..AoHell just closed down on me right in the middle of putting this album entry together!! GRRRRRRR.. it takes so long to do too...so damn annoying!!

Oh well..let's talk about my trip..I will do a brief re cap for ya!!

Thursday..arrive at gatwick..flight was good..plenty of leg room...slept for a couple of hours....Di and Sue picked me up..went round Di's and dropped off bags...round to surprise dad who was in the garden and couldn't believe his eyes bless him..he said the great British classic "well I'm buggered"  LOL..he kept looking at me and hugging me and looking again to make sure he wasn't dreaming..it was worth every penny....down the pub for drinks in the evening...

Friday....out for a drive with me dad in the country..went to tackley where he was born..took some pics...out to oxford in the evening for cocktails with the girls...

Saturday..had to finally tell dad there was going to be a party at his house because we couldn't get rid of him for the day and we had to do the food and decorate.. he was so excited and got the lawnmower out right away.. party was a lot of fun and we all danced into the wee hours...

Sunday..chilled at di's during the day..my nephews came over for a cuppa...down the pub in the evening..saw my old roommate..back to his house for more drinks...

Monday..went shopping with di in oxford then a quiet night in... <I needed to give my liver a break! >

Tuesday.. shopping in Witney with di and my dad..had a lovely day..found a quaint little pub with gorgeous gardens and had our lunch out there..had the girls round in the evening for supper and drinks...we started talking about old times and it was 2.30 am before they left!!!

Wednesday.. had a day on the river on my brothers boat...had a picnic.. my sister and dad came along too..it was a really nice family day...Wednesday night it was time for me to say my goodbyes..my whole family and Lesters came down the pub to see me off.. I had a few pints of Stella..LOL

Thursday.. a long long trip home...2 hour drive to airport...8 hour flight to Philly...2 hour wait in customs...2 hour flight back to Jacksonville..HOME..exhausted but happy!!

I will be back later to tell you about my crazy week since I've been back!

MWAH!

A real old-fashioned saying if ever there was one!  I'm so glad it all went well for you, and am I right in thinking that the weather stayed nice?  It looked like it in the photos! ~~ Pat http://journals.aol.co.uk/pm71blackfen/ramblings-from-pat/

I like the picture of you with your Dad best, then the picture of you & Carmen.  I will never forget the surprise party I gave Dad for his 75th & I'll bet the thing your Dad will remember most about his is that you came all the way there to celebrate with him.
The day on the river sounds divine also. ~Mary

I bet the time just flew by too. It's always the way when you're enjoying yourself.

Lovely photos Lyn!  Looks like you had a wondeful time and that your family more than enjoyed having you with them!  As for AOHell, that's exactly why I have switched to blogger.  None of the hassles.  I have been able to set up an alerts system for my readers.  It saves all my entries as I am writing them and I never lose anything.  It much easier to use and a lot less frustrating.  I am a loyal person and it took a lot of frustration for me to move, but I'm glad I did.
You are such a pretty lady Lyn.  Well blessed I would say!
love,
Marie

One regret I do not have is leaving AOHell!  Glad your trip was good.  You do live in a fabulous area of the country, just the kind of place we think of as 'typically English'  Hey, 6 months will fly past, specially with your hectic life.
